1028 Cafe Mochi Bubble Tea & Dessert

Been wanting to try for some time now. Strolled on over after dinner to order dessert to go. Upon entrance, a little overwhelmed by the abundance of options on the menu… But plenty of choices is definitely a good thing — something for everyone. If you’re pretty indecisive then you’d be staring at the board for a while. Oh and pretty quiet inside… maybe some music would be nice?
Settled on the Five Colours Mix (small) 特色五彩㩞 and Coconut Milk with Taro Mochi, Sesame Rice Ball and Sago (small) 椰香雙彩圓 = 芋圓+芝麻湯圓西米露.
Wasn’t sure what exactly was going to be in the Five Colours Mix but didn’t mind a little surprise. It had mini mochi, yam mochi (orange colour), taro mochi, red bean, and pudding. I like the white mini mochi; good kind of chewy. The larger handmade mochis were not as soft but had a different chew. Taro flavour was delicate, but noticeable and fresh. Yam flavour was too subtle in my opinion. Red beans were sweet. Pudding is tasty (stiffer than say the pudding from Leisure/​crème caramel texture… more like dim sum mango pudding texture).
Coconut milk sago tasted just right, and the sesame rice balls were not the huge sized ones. Sweetness of the black sesame inside was sharp; I guess a little too much for me… But that’s what they all seem to taste like.
Might not be everyone’s favourite but give the handmade mochis a try!
Will come back to try the other flavours, pearls, tofu pudding… etc etc etc :)

From massive boba drinks to Taiwanese snacks to mochi waffles, they have got you covered! This particular place took me out of my comfort zone in search of the perfect beverage.
The place was jumping people inside and out all enjoying their respective fare and colorful beverage.
Their Michu deserts are to die for! I LOVE it here. I love the environment, the food, and the pricings of the food!
Environment– clean, organized, peaceful (although loud with the talking sometimes), and relaxed
Food/​Drinks– YUMMY and the variety drinks and of Taiwanese snacks/​foods are ridiculous. Especially getting a drink 2 times the size of my face for a super cheap price.
Like the other review mentioned, although there were some times where they left out some ingredients in take out or brought out the wrong food, overall this place is really good.
Definitely you’ll get a headache with the pages of delicious drinks and foods, but its super delicious here.

1028 Five Colours Mix $ 6.8/$ 4.8 — The lady told me that I could not replace the pudding with tofu pudding. The lady told me I could order this 5 colours mix and it includes all 5 types of mochis at the same time. I could only find 4 + red beans. I’ve got the mini mochis, taro mochis, yam mochis, sweet potato mochis and red bean. The mochis were super undercooked. The only mochis I could compare with are the ones from Leisure. Those were much chewier.
Service ¹⁄₅ — I think there was some kind of false advertisement involved. I told her that I wanted a small one. She ended up giving me a big one and of course I had to pay full price.
PS: The egg rolls store that used to be here was much better. The previous owners decided to retire and rent out this place. I wish they read this and decide to reopen!
