Terrible customer service. I bought a computer brand new, and within 2 weeks got the blue screen of death. I brought it back and when I tried to return it, they spent hours and scoured through every hard drive in the computer because they wanted to prove I downloaded a virus causing it to blue screen. The best they could come up with was my own printer driver. They let me return the defective computer but wouldn’t budge on the $ 400 software I had to buy — no returns, that’s the policy. They were VERY rude and unprofessional to me, laughing at me and muttering under their breath. I am quite certain it’s because I am a young female who walked in on my own. Awful, awful customer service. Thanks for turning me into a MacBook user! Shame on you, especially the owner, for selling defective computers and having the audacity to shame/guilt your customer when they return it. Do not buy here, they are knowledgeable but will use that against you when sh! t hits the fan.

A-Power Computer is one of my favourite computer stores. I’ve brought in my desktop a couple times for repairs and they were able to help me out. They offer wonderful customer service. The staff is knowledgeable and the prices are reasonable(fairly comparable to NCIX). It’s easy to pop in when I need a new mouse or SD card. They also have weekly specials. This Richmond location is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00am to 6:00pm(closed on holidays). Parking is readily available in front of the store or on the street. #30DaysOfYelp 14⁄30

Thanks to Michael C. for telling us about this place! I love Vancouver but one of the things that hubby really missed about Alberta after moving out here(well, aside from the bison and no PST) was the little computer stores! A-Power to the rescue — hubby’s in the market to build a new computer and loves these types of places. Finally stopped by after he’s been looking at the website. Prices here are very reasonable and comparable to what we would pay in AB and staff are knowledgeable. They seemed to be good with other customers for servicing issues and hubby was happy with the staff opinions. Free parking in the lot and a spare computer for me to surf while I’m bored with listening to hubby’s techie questions = A-Power gets the elusive 5th star!

Power Geeks! I have bought various items here in the past and love that some items are cheaper than other big chain stores. My previous PC I bought here served me over 5 years well, in fact it still works fine I just upgraded to a notebook. My previous computer was cheaper than anything Best buy or Future Shop had with similar specs. The difference is that my machine has top name brand parts that is fully upgradable unlike the big name machines like Dell or HP. My Asus motherboard had problems 2 years ago and they totally handled the manufactures warranty and returned it to me within one week. It cost me $ 10 for handling fees. If you have any software issues bugging your PC they can fix it for cheap especially I think if you bought it from them. My dream PC is an i7 rig that will be relevant for years to come, maybe 6 more months and I will update this review.
