Been here several times, just because I love sushi. I only order rolls and nigiris. Their Stanley cup roll was Yummmmmmmm! My favourite! Everything else was ordinary. The wait time is pretty good, and they’re pretty organized. What do you expect from a Chinese food court?

Ok am I a lunch slut or a gossip whore? That’s my question of the day. AC texted me yesterday to come down to Richmond to have lunch with her. In Richmond? Like wow I have to drive an half an hour to eat a 20 minute lunch? Does that make sense? Maybe it was the holiday boredom, but I decided to make an adventure out of it and I went to the Michael’s in Richmond too. The eating part of lunch ended in like 20 minutes, but AC and I sat in the mall gossiping for another 3 hours! Ok… I’m a gossip whore! Haha We decided to meet in the food court in Aberdeen Mall. It’s a bit pedestrian, but I find that there is a wide selection of Asian dishes here so why not hey? My next question is does it make sense to choose a Japanese restaurant in a Chinese mall food court? Well I didn’t have any cash(and I don’t like borrowing money from people) so I had to interact my transaction. Surprising how many Chinese places take cash only! I don’t want it to sound like this but one of the main reasons I settled on AJI Hana is that this place takes interact! Well the food was a bit common… I had a bento box. I would say that whole things was rather flavourless. Certainly nothing distinctive about this food or this entire meal. Would I come back? Hmmm… Not likely! Next time I’m out of cash I’m going to borrow money!!!

Apart from a 26-dish ChineseBites tasting, I’ve never had the sushi here. I’ve seen mixed comments about it so I usually only order a donburi. On this visit I had the Unagi(Eel) Don($ 7.95). This came with a side of Miso Soup. The Miso Soup tasted as average as can be with just a couple scallions added in for appearance. I didn’t find any tofu in my soup. The Unagi Don was much more interesting. This came with a good number of eel slices topped with seaweed and sesame seeds. There was a large bed of rice underneath so I was really full by the end of the meal. I was pleasantly surprised not to find any bones in my eel as I’m usually a little skeptical of food court places that serve cheap dons. As far as the quality of rice goes, I didn’t like it as much as the Unagi Don at Sushi Garden but I thought it was good value for the price. It’s best to bring your own drink as places in this food court will ding you hard for any soft drinks. If you’re just looking for something Japanese and filling, the unagi don here is not a bad choice.

I’ve been here numerous times and I like the food they offer. Sushi quality is passable but the ramen is a different story. This review is based on beef ramen I got for lunch. For a low, low price of $ 6.95(before taxes, ma cherie), you get a good-tasting, kotteri-looking broth along with well-done, shredded beef. Corn and menma pieces and a boiled egg complimented the beef. And all of this, garnished with scallions and a large piece of nori. For a non-authentic Japanese eatery, the presentation is spot on. It’s totally pretty good for the price. Oh yeah their $ 1 lemonade is so good, sometimes I just come to the place just to order that.

first time ordering here, the Bento Box 3 was relatively good and tasty not salty(except the miso soup of course). salmon fillets were moist, rolls were good as well as tempura. I will give the sushi combo a try next time :-)

I came to Aberdeen Mall to have tea with a girlfriend and we did some browsing in the mall. This was one of the stores that we visited. Decent noodle soup, however, it was a sodium suicide, therefore, I had to throw most of the broth away. Decent prices. Debit and cash only.

I usually don’t have very high expectations for the foods prepared at food courts because most of the foods I’ve eaten from there had been somewhat terrible. Buuuuutttttt… FINALLY I HAVEFOUND A GEM… I was shopping at Daiso from the lower floor of Aberdeen Mall with my mom during Chinese New Year. When we got hungry, we decided to go up to the 3rd floor where the food court was located at and we decided to order from this place. My mom had a bowl of noodle soup with miso soup, & I had a bowl of Teryaki salmon bowl and a cup of ice tea. Lastly, we also shared this crispy salmon sushi roll thing. To my surprise, the food was actually very delicious and surprisingly filling. Out of all the foods I’ve eaten at food courts, this was one of the few places that I actually enjoy going to.

Ordered the pork ramen. Good cheap price at only $ 6.95 but little to no flavour. The broth tasted like dirty dishwater. I could have made a better broth just by opening up a store bought broth and adding nothing else. I asked if they had any miso for the soup and the girl looked like she had no idea what that was. On the plus side, really quick and friendly service.
