Here is my nightmare story A buddy and I go to this«restaurant» to get all you can eat sushi. We ask for the blue menu get the card and basically half the menu is crossed out. Then we order what we want for the first load. FIRST thing arrives it is wrong. We get the second thing wrong… so then we ask for a couple diet Pepsi, no we only have apple juice Not to mention the dried up Wasabi they gave us. So basically I just got up and left they tried chasing me out but basically I would not pay a dime to eat in this place. Plus the staff was not at all interested in speaking English. So don’t go to this dump if you have any self respect. Less than 1 star

Used to come here once every 2 weeks. Today’s experience was terrible. Chose the deluxe menu, which is $ 27.45 a person on weekends. They informed us there’s no fresh oysters today and we agreed. When we got the menu there’s actually about 10 items that was unavailable. One or two items out for the night I would have accommodated, 10?! The food that we got wasn’t good either. Beef sashimi was warm, it didn’t seem fresh. When we questioned the servers they said it was normal because it’s overcooked. Overcooked? Don’t serve your customers! Simple as that! We sat for about 20 minutes in total before we walked out. Never coming back again.

First of all I would like to say that this was my second time coming to this place, so this is based on both experiences. First experience food was ok, California rolls were great! But the service was so slow and to top things out we had to order half the things a second time because they forgot to bring it to us. Second experience was with my boyfriend that came all the way from California to visit me and of course I recommended this place I am so embarrassed to even have brought my boyfriend here, little yet suggest it. First of all, the wait was a bit when you can see that booths were open so it didn’t make sense. Secondly, it took a while to get our food which I believe has something to do with the fact that many servers brought our food not just one which end up with us having food we didn’t even order at our table. Thirdly, we had to order half of our menu twice because they didn’t get it for us the first time. Me being how I am decided to distract my boyfriend from noticing when he said«babe. I think they forgot about us. I think they forgot our order. Now that’s embarrassing. And lastly, when my boyfriend went to pay the girl had put 15% so he changed it to what he thought they deserved which was 5% and the girl got mad at us and explained to us that«YOUSHOULDALWAYSTIP10%» normal tip and minimum tip 10% and then rudely handed over our receipt and practically threw it at us. I should of walked out when my boyfriend pointed out the chef eating the food he was cooking. To be honest, they should be happy they even got a tip because if it was me I wouldn’t of. I would of given 2 stars but the the girl at the end fucked it up. NOT. COMING. BACK. EVER.

My friend and I wanted to go for sushi and decided on this place. I’ve been there before and the service wasn’t bad except the last time I went I went with a friend who informed me afterwards the staff were talking bad about us, how we spent too much time in their establishment. We were eating and chatting for 2 hours. Most places don’t care we do this, why this one? It wasn’t even busy the night we went, practically dead. Also, to add my friend is Asian and I’m Indian so it could be a ‘race’ thing. I find it rude to talk about your clients, whether they are of any race, colour or creed… So this time I went with my caucasian friend and we were seated right away but service was sloooooow. It took a waitress 15 min to finally come to us and ask us what we wanted. When we decided on «all you can eat,» we didn’t receive everything the first time we ordered. Missing things and taking a long time to come to our table. As it took forever the second time, to get our orders, the place was getting busy as it was dinner time and we were there long before the rush. It was insane. No one came by to see how we were doing, if we wanted anything else or just anything. I was clearly annoyed when I had to flag a staff member down and the look on their face shows they weren’t happy. So when we’re ready to pay, the woman at the front counter said to us «tip isn’t included» and I said«I wasn’t going to tip as the service wasn’t good and tip isn’t mandatory, it’s something you get if you give good service and the service wasn’t good. I won’t be coming back.» The woman got mad and rudely gave me my receipt. I won’t be going back if this is how staff behaves. I live in Richmond and don’t need this kind of attitude in my city.

–not cheape than other places in terms of price, yet lacking in freshness and service. –went with a group, in which a few became sick the next day(personally, I was unaffected) –food was slow to arrive, usually showing up cold Note. I’m being harsh because it was the dinner price rate. However, I do think that perhaps going to Ajitaro while paying late night or lunch prices for the same service would be more acceptable

Horrendous customer service and food is just ok. Went there a couple of years ago and thought the food was ok so I was willing to give it a try again recently. Big mistake. I can’t believe how the staff talk to customers; without a care and definitely rude. Would not recommend going to this restaurant unless you’re desperate for food and don’t care about the service.

Can’t understand any of the bad reviews about this place. Service was pretty good, server went above and beyond to make sure our allergy concerns were ok and was really friendly. The food was delicious, terrific portions. Avocado rolls are divine! Loved it.

Yeah… lacks the basic customer service. Servers couldn’t communicate in English most of the time. No energy or bit of attention when serving food and didn’t bother to let us know what items were being served. Food were fine to me. Environment was clean and well decorated. We went as four around 8pm, not busy, so got seated right away at the window seat beside my car.

Service was okay’ …food was better. The late night all you can eat is definitely worth the price, comes with oyster motoyaki and short ribs and those two dishes alone come pretty pricey. It is well made here. Highly recommend the house special roll

Too much rice! Not to mention the sushi are not that great. This Japanese sushi All you can eat place is ran by Chinese. Well nothing wrong with that if they know how to make good sushi. They have various all you can eat package. We came here very late and so we ordered the $ 16.95(weekend + $ 1) late night special all you can eat. Its not really a great deal because you get so much rice that it becomes a total rip off. The shocking was the scallop cone. Oh my god. I have never seen so little chop scallop and so much rice. There is also a limit on jello and jello is cheap. You don’t get much of a value here. But they do open till 2am.

Currently sitting in aji tori, we found fly eggs on one of our beef skewers. All the food we had received today was cold, ‘sizzling plate’ was literally frozen cold, food was re-fried, and overall inedible… We have been sitting here for almost an hour now, fighting with our server about not wanting to eat anymore. The sushi bar cook came over and ACCUSED us of lying. Saying the food is now cold because it’s been sitting here for so long, that’s why the ‘sizzling plate is cold.’ Like are you serious, you’re telling your customers that they’re liars? Also, he started a full on argument with us, as the whole restaurant watched… We hardly ate anything, and they tried charging us the whole bill. Our appetites were lost, we sat there arguing for an hour, found fly eggs on food. And they were trying to charge us?.. Ridiculous! Completely turned off by this place and their service. My boyfriend and I had both worked in restaurants for multiple years, and this situation was not handled properly. Management is complete shit for letting this play out the way it did. I do not blame the server, Jenna, she definitely did try her best, and I have been in shoes. but all the other servers were just rude and clearly stupid!

Came here on a saturday night for late night all you can eat. Yep bad news; they raised their price to 17 $/person. Its always busy on weekend nights here. Some of my favorite dishes include: BBQ short ribs, nigiri sushi, cones, sushi, salads, sunomono etc. Their variety is not bad, there is quite a selection to choose from. Service is not bad and relatively efficient. The place looks like any other all-you-can-eat places. Price range is A-ok considering I expect late night all– you– can– eat to be under 15 $. Parking available.

This place does not even deserve one star. The quality of their FOOD and SERVICE is horrendous. Their pricing for late night sushi is not worth it at all. Unfortunately chose the AYCE menu and I had to wait over an hour to receive only 3⁄15 items I ordered. This is not okay considering they have a 2HOURLIMIT. I don’t even know how they are still in business with their terrible food and service. I’ve lived in richmond my whole life so i’ve been to my fair share of sushi restaurants and this was BYFAR the worst.

This place is not the greatest but the price is reasonable for the amount of food you can get. It is hard to find good AYCE sushi nowadays. They are either expensive, have too many limits, or they just taste awful. The only reason why I go to Aji Taro is because of their fresh oysters from the Deluxe menu(limited to 12 per person). Most AYCE sushi locations don’t have raw oysters. And even if they do, it is highly expensive. Whenever we run out of hot tea, they always refill it for us at no additional fee(we tend to refill it 2 – 3 times per visit).

Just under satisfactory food; the chicken teriyaki don had barely any teriyaki sauce, as it just skimmed over the chicken slices. Ajitaro is inconsistent as when I ordered it before, it came with vegetables; however, this time it just came on a bed of blanched beansprouts that I couldn’t care less for. The gyoza was not worth the $ 4, and that is saying something. It had hard edges and was definitely purchased in bulk and cheaply, as the gyoza ripped apart once dipping in the ponzo sauce. The chopped scallop roll was decent, that being the very best part of the meal, despite its loosely put together appearance. Our waitress(long, reddish hair tied back) was incompetent. Understanding that this is an AYCE restaurant, I would expect far more staff in a restaurant as popular and known as this. When asked for one glass of water, she dropped off two and a large, full pitcher of water, which, I suspect, as a waitress myself, was for a different table, as no other tables of less than 3 people had pitchers. She was very loud and sociable, but not to the right people. She joked openly in Chinese with her female coworkers. The male servers, honestly, seemed far more competent and capable of efficient service, as they were evidently annoyed at the unprofessionalism of their senior servers, and they always had food on their trays, unlike my waitress, who never had a tray of food. When I initially waved my waitress down for some extra teriyaki sauce, she made eye contact with me and smiled. I assumed she was approaching me, but she only ignored me and carried on. She was also incapable of bringing me my bill, which, I might add, is also traditionally given when someone also asks for their meal to be packed up, but even when requested twice, she didn’t bring it. I ended up having to go to the front cashier to pay, and it was a struggle to even WANT to tip for their service. Even as I was leaving, the female waitresses were still fooling around. I would not want to come back to this establishment. When management is not there, it is a despicable mess.

This place is probably the BEST deal and quality for AYCE — open till 2:00am!!! Last orders are around 1:00am. Plenty of parking in dedicated lot. Not the biggest place — so it can fill fast during prime time. Decent menu with most common items. In general all sushi is made fresh — very tasty! Generally use the right amount of sushi mayo to enhance the taste! The kitchen dishes too are made fresh and generally arrive piping hot(depending on how late you get there). If you order teriyaki chicken or beef — it comes to you table sizzling on teppan plate — not lukewarm with sauce spread over it. If you go Saturday or Friday late night — be prepared to wait — it is busy — but they really work fast to move the tables through! only $ 14.95 for late night menu(there are two other more expensive menu options should you want them — have more items to choose from on them) All you can drink pop for $ 2.50 — good deal — but everyone at the table has to order the pop deal for you to get it. Service is always friendly. This is my new sushi hot spot –go something three times a week!

Has ayce(regular) with my parents today. Food was very simple and delicious but nothing out of the ordinary. Orders came fast and frequent but there wasn’t too many customers at the time. I’d suggest the teriyakis because they were large for an order and served on a hot plate. Service was okay. Didn’t have too much interaction other than asking for more tea, ordersheets and the bill. Overall, neat little place to go to once in a while.

It was one the worst sushi I have ever tried. We stayed in River Rock Casino and wanted to try a sushi restaurant near by and ended up going here. On the way in we asked a customer who was leaving how the foods was and she replied«mediocre » we should have consider her feed back and walk away but the kids were hungry and we decided to try the food. We ended up paying $ 110 for 2 kids and 2 adults which was too expensive for such a low quality sushi. we will never go back and wouldn’t suggest if you want to have some quality sushi just turn around and walk away!

So we only come here for AYCE once in a blue moon — usually just when we are entertaining guests from out of town and they want to eat as much fish as they can lol. The 3 stars are for AYCE expectations only. If I were to rate this as an overall restaurant, it’d be a 2 for mediocre food. I think for the basic AYCE, this restaurant is fine. If you’re looking for good sushi, obviously don’t come here. We’ve ordered a-la-carte here before and it’s the same quality as AYCE. Service is what it is. Parking lot is a bit small for when it gets busy. Not much else to say about this place — if you love AYCE sushi, this place will be just fine for those late drunken nights. It’s $ 15.45 for the basic late night starting at 930pm. I like Ninkazu just slightly better because this place does not include Gomae-ae in their basic menu.
