Of the 4 Bubble Waffle Café chains I’ve been to so far(Aberdeen Centre, Royal Centre, and Kerrisdale being the other 3), this one is probably the best in terms of selection options, food quality, quantity, and pricing. Situated in Lansdowne Mall, this stall is one of the busiest in the mall’s food court. Service was relatively fast(after the usual lining up, filling out order form, and paying routine). The options for soup base, noodle type, toppings etc were as plentiful as the Aberdeen Centre one(I believe they share the same order form). Portion-wise, the portions here were slightly bigger(more generous with ingredients) than any of the other Bubble Waffle Cafes. Food taste and quality were pretty good. The combo pricing was also the lowest among all the Bubble Waffle Cafes I’ve been to recently, even though some are operated by the same owners. I’m pretty sure location plays a part in their pricing. In summary, this location will probably be my go-to Bubble Waffle Café when I’m craving such noodle soup + drink + bubble waffle combos!

Foodcourt food is not really my thing, but I had to grab something quick due to an appointment and craving something hot and something soupy, so Bubble Waffle Café it is. I was lucky enough to get in line before it got really busy. You customize your own noodle soup combo through an English/Chinese multiple choice form(thank goodness it’s also in English). You get to choose from a number of soup/broth, two toppings, type of noodle, cold drink, and bubble waffle or HK style waffle(peanut butter flavour) — all for just a little over $ 9. Serving size is decent. Pretty tasty. No complaints there.

I like coming here for the Hainanese Chicken Laksa… It is so good. So much flavour. Good soup on a cold winter night. I haven’t tried other items on the menu. But I will be back again.

[Noodles and Bubbles] It was another slow workday and I needed something quick and cheap. And something new. The allure of hot noodles paired with bubble waffles and a drink was too enticing. Do keep in mind this is inside the Lansdowne mall food court and not a 5-star restaurant. The good: Value. For $ 8.35 taxes included, I got a bowl of noodles with lamb and beef, a bag of bubble waffles, and a lemon coke. Solid deal. The average: Taste and quantity. While the price was right, the taste did not blow my mind. The soup base wasn’t overly flavorful and the noodles pretty basic. As a self-proclaimed hungry man, the portion size was on the smaller side. Noodles were plentiful but they really skimped on the protein. Looking behind the counter, I could see endless bags of pre-made bubble waffles sitting under a heat lamp. Fortunately for me, I tend to like them on the crispier side. The bad: Wait times. According to my receipt number, there were only a handful of orders in front of mine. What I didn’t know was each order included 3 to 5 different menu items. It took over 20 mins for me to get my food! For food court cuisine, that’s absolutely ridiculous. If they were making fresh waffles, I could understand. Repeat? Not likely. Value is the only draw here and there’s no shortage of places that serve cheap Chinese food in Richmond.

Came here again over the weekend and I had to write an updated review on this place. and sadly I had to reduce it down a star after the few couple visits. To be straight and thorough, the food and drinks all still remain very tasty and good. BUT omg… the wait time to get your food is atrocious… The Landsdowne location inside the food court(I hope this is the one). is HELLA busy everyday 7 days a week. Maybe there is down time hours when there aren’t as many people coming here to get food and drinks but weekends is like boxing day for them everyday… I had ordered some soup noodles and a drink at 12:30 pm and didn’t receive my meal until 1:15. That was a 45 minute wait! That’s friggen crazy!!! I know you guys are busy but wow… they are really slow… It wasn’t just me who had to wait. everyone who else wanted to order or already ordered had to also wait the same or even longer… Absolutely ridiculous… I didn’t want to totally degrade this place since their food is still pretty good imo. I just wish they could find a way to be more efficient with their staff in getting our orders in a faster timely matter instead of making people wait for almost an hour… So this review is just mainly on their customer service and speed of things… Very slow service, please figure out a way to get your food our quicker. Then you’ll have more happy customers.

I give a solid 4. There are a few locations of Bubble Waffle. This is the 2nd store we have been to and more conveniently located for us. It is relatively new. The line ups in the food court are mainly just here. The first time I came, I asked how long it would be and was told 20 mins! My gosh — and yes it did take about 20 — 25 mins. It is chaos. The pencil and order forms are at the front and if it is your first time, it may be confusing. The form is easy enough to fill. You get a number and they call your number when it is ready. I absolutely love the pumpkin fish tomato soup so I frequent here all the time. A few times, my fish balls were missing. The bubble waffles are usually fresh and hot and extremely good. The drinks are very cheap at $ 2 and the iced lemon tea is so refreshing. Hubby tried the Hainanese chicken and said it was so so. The takoyaki is surprisingly very good at a non-Japanese place. It is very good food for reasonable pricing. The only stars taken off are for the long waits. There is a punch card and you can get a free bubble waffle if you get 6 noodle combos.

Street food in a food court. Soup combos, cumin squid and vegetarian items. Bubble waffle for an extra dollar if you order other dishes. This is the busiest place in this mall.

This review is only for their bubble waffles and milk tea both which I got within 3 minutes of me placing my order which is really fast as other people were waiting for their noodles and other food items. My bubbles waffles were hot and crispy on the outside and soft eggy goodness on the inside. The milk tea was sweet but not overly sweet and cold so they both were winners to me.

I came here today to redeem a SocialShopper voucher for a «6-Order Punch Card for Hong Kong-Style Bubble Waffles.» It took a while to serve me as the person who normally rings up orders was at the back and the lady at the front, while friendly, did not know how to ring up the redemption of my voucher. Unfortunately, she did not go to the back to get the guy who would be able to ring up my voucher. After a few minutes, the man who was able to redeem my voucher came back to the front and was able to take my order. I used redeemed the voucher for one bubble waffle and bought an additional deep fried steamed buns. I was able to get my bubble waffle right away as they have a few ready under a heat lamp. The deep fried steamed buns, however, took more time. After ordering, it took an additional 7 minutes for them to come out. At this point, I had been standing at the counter waiting to order and receive food for over 10 minutes. I understand that this location is newly opened and that they’re still working out the kinks. I hope that they improve soon because I, and hundreds of others, still have to redeem their vouchers.
