My husband and I recently bought a condo and wanted to have the living and dining areas done in cork flooring. I initially wanted hardwoods but after I learned more about cork’s noise reducing properties, coupled with its natural warmth and eco-friendly profile, I too became convinced that cork would be a wonderful alternative. So we began our search in earnest, through both big box stores and smaller flooring companies in the Vancouver to Coquitlam area. Unfortunately we soon learned how difficult it was to find good selection, reasonable pricing and quality all in one spot. After a couple of weeks of frustration, I slightly changed my google search terms and found Cancork Flooring Inc. I drove out to their Richmond warehouse and had the pleasure of meeting and working with Stephanie McCarthy, their Sales Manager. Wow — Stephanie was an absolute pleasure to work with. First she’s extremely knowledgeable about a broad range of flooring-related issues from cork product specs and performance to installation. Stephanie also shared information on carpet removal and all kinds of handy tips and things to consider as we first remove our carpet, hire an installer and finally maintain our new cork flooring. I’m one of those people who constantly laments the state of customer service these days. So often sales people can make you feel almost as if you’re imposing on their time, or just generally not very welcome(unless perhaps you’re going to drop lots of cash right on the spot.) Stephanie was a huge breath of fresh air. Again she’s clearly knowledgeable and generously shares that knowledge with you. She also prepared a couple of quotes, recommended several installers and finally provided me with several samples so that we could make a truly informed decision. I can’t say enough positive things about my experience and encourage you to check out Cancork Floor Inc. just off River Rd & Savage Rd. in Richmond.
