Been here multiple times, the place is not too noisy, soup base and food is decent, service is also nice and quick. I prefer this place much more over the bigger hotpot places for its atmosphere

Service here is soooo bad. One girl was giving us attitude for no reason(seriously). Some food still hasn’t arrived and we informed the waitress. She then asked if we re-ordered it on the paper. Obviously not? Why would I want x2 of what I ordered? She started giving us attitude and it was such a shock since we were being polite. Not worth it

Haven’t had AYCE for a while, but this did not affect my expectation. Freshness of food is A-, just few rotten leaves on veggie but everything including the fresh oyster was cleaned before served. soup base had a tad too much MSG. For a relative busier Friday evening, services were good and constantly fast and friendly. «yelp» recommended

Probably won’t be returning here again unless someone drag me here. The food quality was low. It felt as though the items were bought from T&T and they only unwrapped it. The only cooked thing we ordered was curry fish ball. Those were fine. I like the lemon and honey cold drink they serve. What truly ruin the experience there was that it was all you can eat for $ 18.95 person, but some of the order didn’t came out. Or, if we ordered 4 fried bean curd stick, only 1 order comes out. And the fried bean curd stick was not as good as compared to Landmark’s. Cattle’s bean stick was hard and dry. For the curry fish ball to come out, my friend have to ask the waitress twice if it were coming. It appears they were rationing out the food and all you can eat becomes how much we insists the orders has not came out. It still not a bad place. I would only recommend this place if you want to stuff yourself with hot pot food. They have various soups and as long you are vocal about your orders, you would be fine.

So this was the first time my friends and I have decided something else besides sushi every time we go out for evening dinner. So we stumbled upon Cattle Hot Pot. Let’s just say the experience was underwhelming at best, especially since customer service was virtually absent during my experience there. Bad experience included missing items, and boatloads of veggies but very little meat plus a quick exit. Not the way to win over new customers when you show favourtism despite a busy night.

I wish it was as tasty as the happy cow in their logo makes it appear. There’s not a heck of a lot different among hot pot places. They provide a hot plate, pot of broth, and raw ingredients. The only differentiators are freshness and service. We arrived early, so it was pretty dead, but were told we only had 1.5 hrs due to reservations. Not a huge deal. Anything longer would probably spell trouble anyways. I wish all AYCE hot pot places made it simpler and stop with all the extra charges, especially charging for the broth. Or use AYCE* with some fine print on their signage. I was kind of shocked that they charge extra for more satay sauce. So I forced to ration what was given. If you’re an oyster lover, you only get 2/person. The meats weren’t that fresh and the balls were a bad idea(usually are). Nothing else was memorable unless you count instant noodles being gourmet. Service was pretty unattentive. Other places are good at changing plates without having to ask, not here. This cow is cash only.

So far, my to-go place for AYCE hot pot. Nice modern décor, a place that’s not too large so you can still get adequate service. Make sure you make reservations, as this place fills up quickly. Lots of items to choose from. Meats are always fresh-and their beef and pork jowl are at the top of my list. Seafood includes 2 oysters per person, prawns, and mussels. A bonus is that they use their regular noodle soup broth served at lunch for the soup bases for the hot pot too. My favourite is the cilantro and duck egg soup. As well, cooked items from the regular menu is also available-the fish siu mai, the deep fried crab claws, deep fried buns with condensed milk! Another favourite item is the homemade fish noodles-these came in a squeeze tube and you squeeze it out to make your own noodles in the pot! Service is good and quick, and orders are always fulfilled. They also have lunch service now as well-serving up the same noodle soup combos that Cattle Café has, but without the long line ups! Definitely recommended!

–phone is incorrect listed on Unilocal. No reservation is impossible to get a table. –parking? Not much parking space in the back. –reservation system had issues. Got there on time. No one come by talk to you until 5−10min. The can mess up the reservation and need to wait like 20min before get seated. –service and order is a problem too. is all you can eat but can’t find the waitress or order missing/missing quantity. –order size. 5 slice of meat count one order size. If you a big eater order a lot in the first paper. –I think is 2hour maximum or set time for next reservation for eating time. –seat and table space is really cramp. –food is good. That is only positive I will give.

Writing this review is a double edged sword. But like an Elite friend said, it’s all for a good cause — your knowledge. Cattle Hot Pot used to only open for dinner. Now, they’re open for lunch. And they offer the popular Cattle Café noodle soup combos along with their AYCE Hot Pot. Both times I came here for lunch the place was empty. The lunch noodle soup combo menu isn’t as extensive as Cattle Café’s. But if you want noodle soup combo without the line up, put this place on your list. Note that the noodle soup combo menu is only available from opening until 3 pm. The lunch menu includes, the same noodle soup combo selections as Cattle Café’s, and a handful of curry rice dishes. * Satay soup base, is pretty good. I find it a tad bit saltier than Cattle Café. * Malay Laksa soup base, is also pretty good. If you like spicy, this is the soup base for you. * Parsley and Century egg soup base, is also very good. The side dishes offered along with the noodle soup combos are the same as Cattle Café’s as well. The deep fried chicken wings and crab claws are pretty good. There is a short list of cold drinks menu. And there are only 4 or 5 specialty cold drinks, which includes Red Bean with Ice Cream and Grass Jelly with Ice Cream. Both are pretty good but I prefer the Grass Jelly over the Red Bean. This place is fairly small, so strollers are not recommended. High chairs are available. Parking, can be a bit of a problem. It shares the same lot as Kam Do which could get pretty busy during lunch time. Street parking is an option, if you don’t mind feeding the machines some change.

There were a lot of choices for soup bases so it is not hard to find a base that will suit everyone. The meat and seafood and random balls/dumplings and even vegetables variety is great as well. I love the fact that they serve Pork Jowl! The meats are great thinly sliced and awesome quality. Service is typical of any Asian restaurant, maybe a bit better. Not a very big place so it is quite easy to get the attention of the 4 servers working. The quality of the items are all pretty good especially for a «All you can eat» establishment. The price is decent but because of the sauces and soup base, it does add up. Still reasonable though~

Cattle Hot Pot is my to-go place for hot pot. It’s cleaner and tidier than Chubby Lamb, which is only a few doors down. The meat is usually leaner with less fat, too… because that means you’re obligated to eat more. And by more, I mean a monstrous amount of beef. I wouldn’t say the staff is particularly friendly, but any all-you-can-eat place is bound to have a few disgruntled employees. As for all hot pot, I usually just order plates of beef and lamb. Coke is pretty cheap since it’s 2 cans for $ 1. They have a lot of other stuff on the menu, like oysters and tofu. …C’mon, who wouldn’t want tofu instead of beef? I can basically sit there and eat for 2 hours straight to my heart’s content, or until I get major heart burn, whichever comes first. I remember they once pulled an early last call on my group of 5 guys and 1 girl(that’s me!) because we consumed way too much food. But this is still my favourite hot pot place, mostly because of the cleanliness factor. You should probably call in and make a reservation on weekends/holidays because it gets pretty crowded. Same goes for all the other restaurants on Alexandra Road.

For the amount of hot pot places that are in Richmond, this one for an «All You Can Eat» impressed me on the food quality. I will base my review mostly on what your putting down your stomach, and ad some pointers in regards to other things on this place. Once entering this place, the one thing you realize is that it is small. There is not much room in there, with probably about 7 — 8 tables. It is on Alexandra, where all the restaurants seem to have converged to. It is your standard order sheet, with all the normal stuff you would find. I have to say for soup consistency, this place has got this right. The two soup bases we had for this night were keeping with the flavor from the start of the meal. The star of the show was the meat selection, this stuff looked fresh, nice bright red cuts, thinly sliced, easily cooked once you put it in your hot broth. Each plate of meat was good, and some redemption from my last hot pot outing in Richmond. They also had fish paste noodles, which I have not seen at many AYCE places. They have a Chinese and an English menu, like most places nowadays. The service is pretty quick, the only thing that you have to realize is, they are watching the clock, two hour eating limit is exactly that. At about two hours they turned our fire off for our pot. We were full, but if you are not during this time, you have been warned from my review. Just get ready to get down to business when you are here, and chow down. They do tell you, if you are running near the end of your clock that it is last call for you. They also clear your plates midway through the meal. After my first visit here, I have to say they have impressed me enough to try again, and I will return to the scene!

There are quite a few ‘all you can eat’ restaurants in Richmond. This is one of the most personable places you will find. The quality here is great. The space is pretty limited. There are quite a few obnoxious people here and they can get on your nerves. I recommend you don’t take your grandma here. The acoustics rattle everyone’s nerves. One loud and drunk guy makes everyone speak louder. The food quality is normal for a hot pot restaurant. There is a great selection for everyone. The only warning is… FINISHIN2HOURS!!! THEYWILLTURNOFFYOURBURNER!!! We talk way more then we eat! I understand the rules but I still there should be room for adjustment.

I LOVE hot pot. Came here 3 times in a week and a half. I’m not the biggest of fan of All You Can Eat places, they usually have crappy food. But this place is pretty good, most of the items are fresh and the meats are awesome. And I like making a great sauce for dipping, mixing minced garlic, soya sauce, chopped hot peppers, cilantro, green onions and peanut sauce. To me, all the veggies and other stuff is just side dishes, I’m at hot pot to chow down and plates of lamb slices and rib eye slices. The veggies are good here but not that fresh, their meats are the best though. I like having lots of greens, spinach and watercress, some Shui Mai, tofu puffs and instant noodle at the end. We order a lot more because so many ppl like different things and I end up eating little bit of everything to help clear the table. I usually go for 2 soups, half the spicy thai and the other will be anything we feel like, but the Chinese herb soup was one I liked. PRICE: Reasonable if you’re hungry. Don’t come full, its a waste! SERVICE: Very fast, I mean, you do cook it yourself. Just make sure your first round is the biggest order and the following will be smaller once your tummy catches up to your brain. We made the mistake of ordering way too much the second round and paid for it… when the server says, «Are you sure?», double check how much your order really is… SUGGEST: Take 4 to 6 friends for AYCE madness! Everything under the menu is tasty there except I wasn’t into the oysters(too big), sirloin slices(no fat) or the marinated beef(ew its old meat). Oh and try the fish skin, its like chips, its not for the hot pot(thanks Joyce.) Usually busy here so might need reservations. Really bad parking lot, hard to find a spot, street parking costs $ but you can only eat hot pot within the 2 hour time limit.

Been here what seems like everyday for the past week. Why? Their meat slices have improved and they’re a bit thicker now. Not so wafer thin that you couldn’t pick up the meat and shabu shabu with it. Service is the same, it’s still very popular and with all this competition, still happy to see that the soupls are still very good. They’ve taken the challenge from So Hot So Pot from down the street and came up with a full house. Call if you have a big group before you come down. They’re always busy.

I was not impressed by the AYCE offerings from Cattle Hot Pot. Yes, service was fast, but I felt it was more of a «stuff your face and get out, we have more people coming» sort of fast. Throughout our whole meal, they kept on turning people away at the door. I don’t understand how that works! The veggies came in huge quantities per order, but the meat portions were noticeably smaller. The seafood was pretty small. We even tried their curry fish balls but they’re nothing like the ones at night market. No taste. The spicy broth was spicy! I give them credit for that. The other broth we got, made from chicken and ribs had no flavour. Disappointing. If you want dipping sauces, you have to order them seperately for a charge. I left full, but not completely impressed.

I’ve been to a this place a couple of times for AYCE hotpot. The first time I came, the MSG level was so high I spent the night punching my pillow(that is what I do when I can’t fall asleep). The last two times have been much better. I like this AYCE place because for a Chinese restaurant, service is pretty good. I like that the place looks clean and the meat seems pretty fresh, as opposed to leathery meat at other places. I find the soups to be quite tasty and there is a good selection of it. I love their mushroom stuffed fishballs! Actually most of their balls were pretty good. The shrimp ball was very shrimpy! Only complaint is of course they cheap out on the good stuff. I ordered 4 oysters not 2! They cheaped out on my oyster twice! Not cool. Same with when I ask for a large order of pork cheek, they give me 6 slices. No I actually want 20 slices because I CAN eat 20 slices! Typical asian AYCE though. Anyways, I’d go back, it’s pretty cheap here(under $ 30 per person), and it’s easy and tasty.

$ 17-$ 18AYCE is a great great deal. As always, you know the menu will be limited since it’s AYCE but it still offers alot of things on the menu such as fried fish skin(menu not as extensive as a la carte ordering joints such as landmark but this is a given). I dunno what it is comparing to other hot pot places in LA and bay area, but pretty much EVERYthing is really fresh. the vegetables look like they came out of the earth a few hours ago. Also i like to point out that their pork blood is very good. The US ones are very hard, dunno why that is. They also have many many soup bases to choose from such as tom yum gong, pork bone, satay, chinese medicine, fish bone. all of them are badass.

Hot Pot… what can I say… I love having Hot Pot on a cold day. So we decided to try this place. Most of the Hot Pot joints on this street were busy, but this once seemed like a good spot since people were getting ready to leave when we passed by. For a AYCE joint, this was a heck of a deal. $ 19 for all you can eat, and you select the items on the list. They did charge for the special sauces and some of the soup bases had an additional charge, but even the drinks were reasonable. 2 cans of soda for $ 1 that was cheap, at first I didn’t want a drink until my wife told me on the menu it said order 2 cans for a buck. She was like are you stupid or what… you drink soda anyway… this is cheaper than that bottle you had to have on the ferry to Victoria for $ 3. OK… she was right. We ordered the Chicken Stock with Cilantro & Preserved Egg. That base was tasty by itself. Ordered beef, lamb, oysters(limit 1 per person), tribe, squid, fish, tofu skins, all the veggies, soft tofu, and beef/squid balls oh and fish paste. It was all fresh and very cleanly prepared. The fish paste had no smell to it meaning it was fresh, and the beef balls were deep red in color… also fresh… veggies were well cleaned, although had to pick thru some of the spinach… wilted, but then again when is spinach not at the supermarket. I can’t believe they charge only $ 19 for AYCE. That is amazing especially for how fresh everything was. Definitely a fan. If they had more veggie selection I might have given it 5 stars.

The restaurant offers all-you-can-eat for $ 18 per person. Service was quick, friendly and attentive. Despite the constant in and outs of patrons and a full house, the few wait staff came by constantly to check on the broth and if we needed to place additional orders. They also made sure that empty plates were taken away promptly so diners had room their tables and side tables for dishes, condiments, and utensils. They are quite a number of choices on the menu including all different cuts of beef, pork, lamb, innards, seafood, vegetables and snack. I’m not sure how I feel about the additional $ 0.50 charge for some of the condiments and the limitation of certain orders such as oysters(2 pieces per person) when they advertise all-you-can-eat on their window without posting the menu on the window. They are also many broths to choose from. We ordered pork bone which was supposed to be rich in flavour according to the description in Chinese but Demae Itscho has better flavour. Overall, it was a pretty good value for $ 18. I would have given it 3 stars if it weren’t Cash Only.
