This is a fast food place. My parents usually come here at night to grab the cheap food. Its now 3 for $ 14. Its not bad for that price. But the quality isn’t like great and the taste is so so. I mean its fast Chinese food. This place is actually better than the other Chinese fast food in this food court. Pak Tak has been here for a long long time. At least over 10 years. or when the mall first open.

Come here often for take out of the Chiu Chow Marinated Duck. Nice thick slices of breast meat with an easily removable fatty skin layer.

Best vendor at this food court. There are a variety of places, including overpriced curry and a guilinggao stand, but Pak Tak stands out among all of them. Even among other vendors which have your standard 3-item plus rice/noodles/empty carbs, this one has unique dishes. The unique offerings were all well done. I got stewed pork belly, which was perfectly marinated and very soft. They also have sticky chiu chow style sticky rice, which I also enjoyed as it was not too oily and had some nice bits of meat and mushrooms inside. I also got green beans, and it was a nice big portion. My mom got a fried fish dish which had bones, so be careful if something like that annoys you. You can’t really complain about the quality of the food. Overall, it’s a very solid place for a quick bite. I’m not sure why people are complaining — it’s a food court place, of course you’re not going to get some gourmet meal. My test for whether I like the place or not is if I’m in the area again I won’t hesitate to go. The good portion and unique dishes(for a food court) meet those criteria for me. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m at Yaohan. If you’re in the mall and need a bite, this is the one for you.

Not the best. Not the worst. Food court Chinese food. «Authenic unbastardized«Chinese food. I wasn’t expecting anything mind shattering from this place and it pretty well lived up to it’s expectations. Its food court food served from a warming tray. The biggest draw to these stalls in the Yaohan food court is convenience and pricing. It’s pretty cheap and all the vendors have similar pricing schemes. 2 items with rice or noodle to $ 7 or 3 items with rice or noodles for $ 8 I’m certainly no «expert» on Chui Chow cuisine and it certainly shows when I end up with a plate of Canto food. Gai lan and soy chicken on soy fried noodles. So much for a diverse choice of Chinese food! It was OK. You can’t expect much from these types of places. Free tea with any combo plate. Bonus is the free wifi inside Yoahan Centre

Pak Tak has the best service out of the 3 vendors serving prepared food. So if you’re comtemplating between Pak Tak, Golden Rice Bowl, or Chun Hing, go with Pak Tak! The ladies there are very pleasant, and are all smiles. The food tastes better too! They also offer Braised Pork Belly, which the other vendors don’t. The prices are a little higher now at about $ 8 for a meal, but it makes for a decent chinese fast food lunch!

Pak Tak is one of my favourite take-out places for Chinese food. Their prices aren’t the cheapest around(I think that would the eateries at Richmond Public Market). But for the inexpensive price you pay, Pak Tak’s food quality is very high. I especially like their Braised Pork Belly with Pickled Vegetables(Mui Choy Kou Yook). I usually remove the fat and skin from the meats that I eat. But not this Pork Belly dish! The yummy taste and texture was worth dieting for afterwards. Overall, Pak Tak is a very solid choice for fast Chinese food.

I think Jando(the reviewer from Queens) being too harsh on this vendor — seriously for $ 5+ per order, what does he expect — vendors cater the taste to the local people and he could not compare based on his«street experience» from those operated in SE Asia. … I had the marinated(Chiu chow lu shui) duck takeout, am very pleased with its soft juicy texture — lack some spice but otherwise not overdone with soy sauce and oil as in other places. Again I have not eaten authentic Chiu Chow food to compare.

Despite it having«restaurant» in it’s title, Pak Tak is really just another food vendor in Yaohan’s awesome food court. Serving up specific Chiu Chow(Chaozhou /Teochew) cuisine, this place offers a nice alternative to the heavily dominant Cantonese options in the area. The food is okay, nothing that would be considered mind blowing. This assessment comes from trying a couple of dishes recommended by the owner himself. I had their infamous spice poached duck(Chaozhou lushuiya) with a side order of their mee pok(a popular noodle dish in the region which also can be found in other parts of SE Asia). The duck was chewy and a little sour, while the mee pok was more bland than I was expecting. I knew I had to try more. On a whim I choose their Ngoh Hiang(Xia Juan), a panfried dumpling skin stuffed with pork and seafood as well as a side order of their Popiah, a spring roll full of things like tofu, pork, peanuts, and veggies. Both items were adequate and extremely cheap, but I’d have to try additional items on their menu since nothing I sampled had me craving for more. Surely some folks out there might find my rating to be a bit harsh, after all it’s just a food stand as opposed to an actual restaurant. But in true Anthony Bourdain style, I must admit that some of the best food I’ve ever had came from a food cart in Asia, so I will hold a food court vendor to the same standard. And sadly, Pak Tak falls just short of it.

The Pak Tak Chiu Chow restaurant resides in the Yaohan Centre food court. It serves Chiu Chow food like Oyster Omellette(Oh Chien or Oh Luak if you know Chiu Chow.) The other food dishes they have are braised pig leg, deep fried anchovy fish with lots of eggs, boiled chicken with ginger and garlice sauce, sticky rice, vegetarian tofu dish. They have combos and you get a free tea with your meal. Cash only.
