We came here last night as a party of three. We arrived early before 6pm on a Saturday night and it was almost full. There was only one table by the window view because a group just got up as we entered. Try to come early because this venue gets busy at 6pm on weekends. We wanted to see the view of the seaplane so getting a window seat was a priority. Food was great, it’s pub /bar style type of food but still very good. I recommend The Beaver Damn which is enough for 2 — 3 people. Parking is free at the restaurant but very limited space, so most spots are in the paid parking overflow lot. I don’t know how much the paid parking is but I’ll update it here if I ever find out. My trick is to just stay near the restaurant and wait for a diner to come out, hope(s)he parked in the free spot, so you can take the free spot. We lucked out twice that way.

I had really high hopes for this place since the location was amazing. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. I ordered saffron risotto and my partner ordered the bison burger, talk about a complete let down. Neither of us put a dent in our plates. To be quite frank, McDonald’s serves better food than here for a fraction of the price. My bill was over $ 70, what a waste. The 1 star was for great location and great service.

Slow service. Mediocre food. Ok view. It was packed and we waited a long time for our food. The food was not worth the wait. Disappointing.

When eating at The Flying Beaver, don’t expect fancy or unique food. This is just regular bar food, but I really enjoyed it. The décor is a typical rustic bar with touches of flight or Vancouver related art. It was a casual, fun and kid friendly place in the afternoon. I believe at night, they have certain sections of the restaurant to seat adults only. I came here for brunch with my husband and young daughter. They sat us beside the windows on their enclosed patio near the back of the restaurant. So between the crayons and watching the planes on the water, my daughter was entertained the whole time. We shared The Beaver Damn, which is(description from their menu) A big ol’ plate with wings, potato skins with bacon, steak bites, kale & artichoke dip, naan bread and tortilla chips. Wash it down with some beer, or coffee in my case and it was the perfect lazy Sunday.

No star should be awarded !!! Worst waitress I met ever. I had never met a server is that rudeness before .\ /. It was one of my favorite dinning place before, but sadly it’s hard to believed that I will visit this place ever again(~_~;)

20 — 30 minutes to be noticed to order, get drinks. Seemed like many servers were walking around but not seeing the needs of the clientele. Always great views of the seaplanes taking off & landing.

I just love the location :) Great view of the river and the aircrafts :) Service was very fast and friendly. I ordered the Seafood salad sandwich. Which was good. But I could tell that my fries were sitting for awhile. Otherwise nice place, decent food. I will definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

Great atmosphere here, busy bar and restaurant feel as you watch the seaplanes glide in across the water. Come in for pub fare ranging from $ 10-$ 20 for mains. The beef dip was tasty and Caesar had the perfect spice. You can get a loyalty card and your 8th meal is free.

This is an updated review. My last review was stellar. The difference is we went here on a Sunday afternoon. We read the sign that says you sit yourself because that’s what happens in a pub. Umm no. Not true. Back in the day using their logic, traditional pubs were known for bar fights. Flying Beaver needs a change of mindset. When it’s packed and there’s no seats available anywhere including the bar, it’s sheer mayhem and chaos. I dont care how good the food is.(it’s not THAT good) or more importantly putting up with this nonsense unless the food is inexpensive. Well, it’s the opposite. Staff and management must become involved when it’s busy. Seating yourself should be reserved for early hours only. For that reason, I am lowering their rating. Besides parking is a pain and jet fuel fumes don’t particularly smell very good. We won’t be returning here again. This is kind of service is unacceptable.

After my visit tonight, I’m not exactly sure if I will return. We arrived and their seat your own thing doesn’t really work when it’s busy and there’s no place to wait. People are savages and just take whatever table becomes available regardless who’s there first. After getting a table, we got drinks and honestly they weren’t that great considering this place is considered a pub. My raspberry mojito was meh. Hardly any alcohol taste and overly sour. After ordering, we waited probably around 45 minutes for our meals. I understand that Monday’s are 2 for 1 appys, but maybe they should properly staff Monday nights to meet the need. After 45 minutes, we managed to get our actual meals before our appys. Last time I checked appetizers are supposed to come before your actual meal. Our crispy chicken burger: tomato was old and pale in colour. The sandwich overall tasted like all the ingredients came out of the freezer. I could of went to McDonald’s and gotten a McChicken and enjoyed it more. Our fries tasted gross. I work in a kitchen and I’m assuming they didn’t change the oil??? Potato Skins: dry. cheese isn’t melted. very bland. tasted old, excessive amount of oil. Nachos: this was probably what I was looking forward to the most. Chips were stale, covered in oil. The guacamole looked like it came from the freezer.

Wow loved this place, great food, loved their salmon salad and an amazing view of water planes coming and going right outside the window, great way to spend a couple hours before a flight out of Vancouver airport

Came here for dine out with family, we ordered all three entrées, the seafood is okay, the fish isn’t taste fresh but the shrimp is okay, blacken chicken taste good but the portion is too tiny, BBQ pork rib taste great but also portion just not that much. The appetizers and deserts are ok, serving is average and the view is great because it locate right beside the river.

A Unique Casual Dining Experience The Flying Beaver is located inside the Harbour Air Seaplane Terminal. It has a rustic cabin-like interior with several, tables looking out onto the inlet just before Swishwash Island. You can enjoy your meal while watching the seaplanes land and takeoff. It is an awesome gastro pub with very friendly service and great food. I had the Wake and Steak which comes with 2 eggs done to perfection(for my over easy order) and a 6 oz piece of steak that was also perfectly cooked. There is also a sun room at the back with more tables that extends out over the water. Many of the patrons seem to be travelers taking a flight however The Flying Beaver would seem to be a great place to have lunch and dinner as well as a few drinks while sitting in a cozy environment. It is also located very close to the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet.

I love how this restaurant/bar oversees the river. It is a great place to hang out with friends, grab a drink, and watch the hockey game. The lodge-like atmosphere in the bar makes everyone feel close(or maybe it was the drinks or the closeness of the tables). Regardless, the ambience was great! They also have a live DJ that plays around 9:30pm. I got their poutine which came with your choice of bacon or pulled pork. It was brilliantly served on a skillet, which still managed to keep my fries, cheese and bacon warm(the ones touching the skillet at least) after 40 minutes of talking. Their portions are quite big and are all very reasonably priced. To top it off, the service was excellent. I wasn’t expecting a restaurant where we seated ourselves to have such a good service. The server came multiple times to check on us and to refill our water. She was very friendly, fast and made my first experience there absolutely enjoyable. I would definitely come back here again!

Have come here for s long time. Great burgers. Beers most always on special. Nice friendly staff. They have what they call a Frequent Beaver card. After 10 meals you get one free. Located on the pair at the south terminal at Vancouver airport. Great views watching seaplanes take off and arrive. Not to mention the view in general is spectacular.

Went on a monday(BC day) and of course it was packed. We were lucky enough to snatch a table after 10 mins or so. Their Monday 2 for 1 appy is a pretty good deal. There is a wide range of appetizers from wings to bacon wrapped prawns. Price range is $$, food presentation looks pretty good. Their appies generally tastes pretty good but i find the nachos to be a bit too dry for my liking. There are different sections of the pub where you can sit; and beautiful view of the waters all around. This place is kind of in the middle of nowhere but you can always go for a romantic stroll afterwards around that area. There is limited parking at the front but tonnes of parking in the lot across the street.

The Fyling Beaver is the only game in town in that area and doubles as an airport terminal. The good news is that game,. is good. The Beaver is almost an institution and ranks up there on the list of places to take someone for an experiential meal because where else can you sit right on the Fraser River in a cozy, but happening, place and have a decent meal. It is pub food, but I’d say it is good(not great), the beer is good, as is the service(I’d say above average and not pretentious). Like most pubs, the range of prices is really tight,.everything is $ 13 – 18, very few exceptions, They have trivia nights and in addition to nice natural light and the stone hearth this place does eminate«fun». My only complaint is an awkward seating system,. first come first serve, and because it is busy that means patrons are circling in an attempt to get a table.

I wish I had more stars!!! This is one of my favorite places in Vancouver. The service is incredible, but the view is even better… The constant movement of seaplanes, never make for a dull time. I can sit there all day. The food is incredible… I ate so much halibut, I could almost poop a small ocean. The fish was cooked perfectly and the chips crispy… Don’t forget to order the Poutine… This item is nothing less than magical… If I had kids, I would trade my favorite kid for their Poutine. I still have dreams about it. I would recommend sitting by the glass to watch the seaplanes take off and land… It is a great thing to see.

Full Review: PROS + Nice views on the patio + Delicious food with fresh ingredients + Beer selection + Offer a bit different dining experience + Open early until late CONS — Pulled pork was tough RATING Food 4.0÷5.0 Ambience 4.0÷5.0 Service 3.5÷5.0 Price $$ As one of the Mark James Group’s(MJG) restaurants, the Flying Beaver Bar & Grill features well-executed pub favourites mixed with exotic flavours and an emphasis on West Coast seafood. I like this place for several reasons. First, they offer microbrew beers and delicious food. Second, they have the nice patio view with the panorama of the Georgia Straight, the Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island in the West. And last but not least, you can watch the arrival and departure of the Harbour Air seaplanes on the Middle Arm of the Fraser River. They provide blankets for people sitting on the patio, so don’t worry even if the weather gets a little chilly. Delicious brunch with great views For our starter, we got a Gluten Free Cobb Salad($ 16) which consisted of chopped romain lettuce, grilled chicken, bacon, cherry tomatoes, edamame beans, candied peacans, Danish blue cheese, hard-boiled egg, dried cranberries with ranch dressing. It had a good selection of healthy ingredients and the portion was pretty big too. It was a good shareable size for two of us, and maybe a single person can be full after eating this as well. It didn’t taste like a typical Cobb Salad I used to have, but regardless of that I loved their fresh veggies with a nice combination of different sweet and sour flavours. Poutine with Pulled Pork($ 9) consisted of fresh cut Kennecbec potatoes, lots of cheese curds, house made gravy and green onions topped with pulled pork(or bacon depending on your choice). I liked their gravy but one thing I have to mention is their«pulled pork.» The pork was not really pulled nor broken into individual pieces. It was a bit tough and not tender enough to be called pulled pork. But still… I loved that they gave us lots and lots of cheese/cheese curds! Pesto Shrimp Pizza($ 15) is one of their 12″ Stone Oven Pizzas that consisted of shrimp, spinach, red peppers, feta and mozzarella cheese with pesto sauce. This was our favourite dish of the day. It had a good mixture of fresh veggies, seafood and cheese. The pizza dough was thin and crispy which I liked about. I would definitely come back to try their other pizzas. Overall, we had amazing brunch with nice views on the patio. There are some minor things that can improve. Tips: — Daily Features start at 4:30am. Enjoy their delicious signature dishes and drinks at affordable prices! — This place tends to get packed pretty quick! Waiting time for us was about 20 minutes.

Ok, I can’t say much about this place beyond the fact that it has a nice view, cold beer and if you have an hour to kill before the seaplane and just got off an eleven hour flight — is a bloody godsend. I figure that’s enough to merit four stars eh? I was flying back home from Scotland and after a ghastly sixteen hour trip(with layovers), I grabbed a taxi from YVR and made my way to Salt Spring Air for the last stretch to hippie home heaven. Up until this point, i’ve always taken the ferry, so I wasn’t aware that Salt Spring Air are geniuses who set their offices up next to a pub. Nay… in a building SHARED with the pub. Allow me to internet hug your brains. Feeling jet lagged and a bit ripe, a pint was just what the doctor ordered. This place carries the usual suspects but the folks working here are lovely, the pub grub looks pretty dang good and it was surprisingly busy for a place I feel like is tucked in the middle of nowhere. Would I make a trip specifically for it? Nah. Am I going to faceplant myself in pub grub and a pint next time I’m heading to Salt Spring? Oh. Hell. Yes.
