Small buffet but the food is very rich in flavours. I love those bean curd peanut sauce things. Would go again.

I really like this place for a once-in-a-while occasion. The only vegetarian Chinese buffet in town, open for both lunch and dinner. Buffet selection is the greatest, but it’s pretty decent, including two soups, various bean curd dishes, eggplant, a couple of stir-fried cabbage dishes, Chinese greens, thin rice noodles, fried rice, and some weird deep fried stuff. Sometimes they’re a bit slow re-filling the dishes, so you don’t always have all the food available, but it’s usually pretty fresh when it is out. Service is pretty hands-off — all they do is bring you tea at the beginning and you have to go up to pay. It’s CASHONLY. For the price, $ 12.95 for dinner, it’s an awesome deal and you’re of course guaranteed to be full when leaving.

Very greasy buffet food. It’s vegetarian, true, but not terribly good — overcooked tofu, seitan in a big vat of goop, stuff like that. Avoid.

This is probably the best vegetable food buffet I have ever visited. They do not have so much option but each item was very tasty and all vegetarian. The things they can certainly improve are service and cleanness. I guess service doesn’t matter as it’s a buffet and actually staffs there are very friendly. They are just silent :-) The restaurant is a bit dark and I didn’t know feel very clean. It will be a five start if they are upgraded to look a bit cleaner. The price was very reasonable and you will surely be stuffed as it’s all goodness with vegetable dishes. We’ll come back for sure sometime.

A variety of great tastes and textures is how I would summarize this restaurant. The weekend dinner buffet had approximately 15 – 16 items(including three soups.) I tried everything and there wasn’t a dish I didn’t enjoy. There were several chop suey style fried vegetables. The aforementioned fried rice and fried bean sprouts were excellent. The chef was very creative with Tofu. I especially liked the sweet and sour rolled tofu skin(yuba.) it was unique and absolutely delicious. I am not a vegetarian but I left this restaurant feeling content. For $ 12.99 I felt I got my money’s worth too. My only concern is the amount of MSG I may have ingested. I will definitely be heading back.

Fabulous place with a buffet selection of fresh veggies bursting with flavour. The chef here prepares the meals according to Taiwanese Zen Buddhist principles. I always go for the black pepper rice and stir fried bean sprouts. The hot and sour soup is not overpowering. There’s this ginseng ginger soup that has a nice earthy flavour and delicateness. The stir fried veggies are cooked just right with that tender crisp texture. This is Nirvana for me.

Fantastic restaurant. Food: Finally a place that doesn’t focus on fake meat. You get many items to choose from. On that day I had: sweet/sour soup, fried chili tofu, fried gluten, gluten and tofu stir-fry, vegetable stir-fry, spring rolls, herb fried rice, fried yam, vermicelli, turnip cake, gai choy, chili eggplant, taro dessert rolls and red bean soup. Delicious and fresh portions keep on coming. All the tables were taken during my Saturday lunch stay. Price: 11.99 on weekdays, 12.99 on weekends and nights, 7.99 for children. Service: Sweet people work here. They really feel like family. After giving you tea, you serve yourself. Parking: Make sure you get a parking pass from the server if you park in the RESERVED spaces. There wasn’t much parking on the elsewhere street. Return the pass to them when your done with it. Washrooms: The washrooms are not heated, so expect to be cold. Average cleanliness. The men’s washroom pipe under the sink was leaking. I didn’t mind it. They probably aren’t making enough for extensive repairs.

This is my favourite vegetarian restaurant and I’m not even vegetarian. The buffet selection is moderate but impeccable, absolutely delicious and very fresh. This little place is run by a hardworking Chinese couple. Note that this place is bustling around Chinese New Year on the days that one shouldn’t eat meat.

I love this vegan restaurant! I went quite a few times before I figured out it was vegan. They have hot red bean soup for dessert. Something sweet plus fiber — how could it get better than that? And do you want to see 10 different ways to disguise tofu? I love the variety. Vegetables vary from time to time, but my favourites are eggplant and the winter melon. Where else can you ‘eat your vegetables’ and have a choice of 6 different ones? They also have good hot and sour soup. And good tea. Take me there for lunch any time. Yes, there are not many non-Asians there, but the manager always says ‘Have a nice day’.

A vegetarian buffet?! WHAT! Is that even possible? Yes it is and I was surprised My friend is a vegetarian and she pulled me to this place in the middle of Richmond. I had no idea there was such a thing. The price of the dinner was not bad though, $ 13, and it was quite healthy for you too! The choices were limited since it wasn’t a large establishment, but unlimited Sweet and Sour soup?! YUP! I had a nice bowl of rice with tons of different types of food, and I wasn’t bored of the flavours. The amount of spices used were pretty delicious for each dish, and the tofu was my favourite. So many tofu dishes! There was a deep-fried taro desert which was delicious. It was sweet and the texture was crunchy. I enjoyed that one the most. The leafy greens were all fried in a large wok in the kitchen, you can tell from the chef just flying that large wok, it was so funny: X I do not recommend the ice cream though, so just saying. But everything else here is peachy, and not that bad for a night to just filler up on veggies, tofu and rice. :)

Having spent seven years in Taiwan, I was overjoyed to find this authentic Taiwanese buddhist veggie buffet. The food is made fresh in small batches and the veggies are vibrant with colour. You won’t find any garlic or onion here(the buddhist’s believe they are aphrodisiacs), but the food is simple and flavourful. It’s cash only and tea and icecream are included. I love these folk and I love the food.

A vegetarian all you can eat?! You don’t say! Walked into Veggie Bunch at 6pm and it was bare. Was promptly greeted by the owner and served us tea. He courteously invited us to go ahead to the buffet. One look and I was amazed, I thought I went to a dinner spread in Nirvana! They didn’t have too many dishes put out because there weren’t any customers, but once we were there, the chef got up and prepared fresh dishes for us. Everything from panfried daikon cake to «fish» cake veggie stir-fry to beef ball soup. The RICE!!! You have to have the fried rice. All I can see in it is green peas and speckles of seaweed, but the flavour is so wonderful. There’s something else in it, but we couldn’t figure it out. It was nice to see that they do get busy but closer to 7pm. Hopefully it was just that night, but the food was really really oily. Will go again and hope its just a one off. Otherwise, definitely worth 4 stars.

My buffet binging companion and I hit up Veggie Bunch for some all-you-can-eat action on our way to the airport… because nothing says«goodbye, Vancouver» more than eating massive quantities of food at a hole-in-the-wall Chinese spot. The ambiance was definitely nothing to write home about, and service is fairly non-existent if you don’t know how to «née hao». That’s not to say that it was rude, just that it was very quiet and unassuming. You walk in, pick a table, drop off your things, are served up tea, then go hit the buffet to gather your own food and utensils. We arrived about an hour or so before they closed their lunch buffet, and there were only a couple of other patrons in the restaurant, so the pickings were very slim. Offsetting this disappointment, I had that moment of excitement at the buffet where I narrowed my eyes and poked at a suspiciously meaty looking item, only to remember that everything was vegetarian! Yippee! For some items, there was only one piece left, or a very small portion. Regardless, we scavenged what we could and made our way back to our table to eat. With Chinese food, I feel like likes and dislikes are so subjective that it wouldn’t be very helpful for me to list what I liked and disliked. Suffice it to say, there were certain menu items I liked better than others. I also found the food to be slightly heavy and oily, albeit not as heavy and oily as other Chinese places can be. It also wasn’t as spicy as I would have liked! Selection was refreshed as we worked our way through our first plates, which was nice, although tea was never refilled. It’s nice to have the option of going to a vegetarian Chinese buffet, but I don’t think that I’ll be running back anytime soon… at least until the craving for Chinese food hits again. Lunch buffet still stands at $ 10.99, and dinner is still $ 12.99. Cash only.

YES !! i couldnt believe it when i found out there is a Chinese Vegetarian Buffet here !! The new address is 6611 Buswell St in Richmond a few blocks from its old place(i never knew it so i dont know how that place was) The first time i went there to find its Cash only(not unexpected in richmond) good for us Its almost right behind Richmiond centre, so ATMs are nearby. Lunch buffet costs 10.99 while Dinner costs 12.99 Its non-pretentious, simple nothing fancy interior. You come in find a place, put your jacket on the chair and head to the buffet table. Now comes the Good things… the food is mind blowing. ITs vegetarian, its healthy. not oily or spicy, its just the right amount of everything. There are alot of choices from steam buns(momos) to soup to fake fish fillet to honey teriyaki wings to fake chicken nuggets to vermicelli noodles to fried rice. Each and everything I tasted i loved it(except the bitter gourd hehe) and to top it off there is free dessert included also. Red bean soup was fresh and tasty and not to forget the ICECREAM. If you’re Vegan i guess you would have to skip that part. But its included and is ALLYOUCANEAT. The owner is a quiet guy who makes sure all the dishes are full and they cook stuff in small quantities keep them fresh. really loved it and we will be there at every oppurtunity available,

I’m actually giving 3.5 stars here. I have only ever been here for lunch, which is $ 9.95 all-you-can-eat buffet(the dinner buffet is $ 10.95). I normally don’t enjoy buffets, but this one is good and I don’t feel the common«ughh» afterward. Do I just have more restraint here or does the all-veg menu just sit better? And the people who work here just seem so kind. Last time I went the turnip cakes were yummy, freshly made, and new batches were brought out often. The sweet and sour tofu was great, and I really enjoyed the glass noodle dish. Even the sesame balls weren’t too oily. The only thing is — I suggest to skip the ice cream that they offer for dessert… just not worth it. By the way, they usually have fliers at the till about tempting meditation retreats. 30 days without speaking? Maybe I should start with 1.

I’m not a vegetarian, but if I was, I’d eat here religiously. Veggie Bunch does vegetarian food that appeals to the meat eater. Instead of using tofu, lentils, chick peas, etc. as their protein base, this Taiwanese restaurant uses soy-based meat replacements that come pretty darned close to the real thing. I’ve introduced this place to a few«anti-vegetarians» including my father who doesn’t believe it’s a meal unless it’s got meat in it, with positive reviews all around. I personally like the unpretentious atmosphere of Veggie Bunch, though some may find it a tad stark. It is clean and white with a few Buddhist paraphernalia for décor. Almost every time I go, I see the shaved heads and robes of some of the Buddhist monks who frequent the place and none of the pretentious wankiness that I have come to expect from Kits-y vegetarian restaurants like the Naam. Because of its simplicity, it comes with a very affordable price, around $ 10 plus tax & tip. Their food is all-you-can-eat, so when you arrive, park yourself at a table, grab a plate and serve yourself. You’ll get everything from soups & appetizers to desserts, though you might want to stay away from the ice cream if you’re vegan.
