I got a painful stomachache after having the Rainbow Glacier cheesecake… and there was only 1 other table seated at the restaurant that night. I’m not sure if it’s food intolerance to the rainbow food coloring, or if the cake’s dairy was expired past its time, because I could barely taste any flavors in that cake. It just tasted like frozen flavorless milk. So either my slice was really old, or it just has no taste. If I come back here one day and have a better experience, I’ll update my review with more stars. I want to give it one more chance.

First time here. Ambience is nice and subtle but nothing special. The cheese cakes samplers are the size of a gold ball and you get to pick two. Glacier cheesecake basically feels like frozen ice cream and the bake sago taste like a big egg tart. The drink feels like its from the carton juices from Costco. Great that i tried it but not a place I would have an urge to return to.

This is actually the best hidden gem in Richmond for dessert places. I was recommended this place during an outing with one of my good friends. It was that time of month and I wanted dessert, however, didn’t want to go to some bakery. He found this place through the Unilocal ap and since it was within walking distance it was on our list. For starters their flavors are very outside the box. They have some common standard flavors for those who don’t want to go too far outside the box. We picked this place ’cause we read Brenda Y’s review on the lavender cake. I love lavender and would take it in any shape and or form. When we got there they did not have any lavender cake. I was sad, however, settled for a traditional berry cake(boring I know). As a first timer I was satisfied with my dessert. Customer service was awesome and the prices were decent.

My brother always went to this café for his late night dessert and finally I had the opportunity to visit. I tried the lavender, white romance, green tea & red bean mousse cheesecakes and the lava cake. Unfortunately, I was disappointed because the crust was soggy and there was only a very small hint of lavender flavour. I couldn’t taste the white chocolate flavour in the white romance. The matcha over powered the red bean in the mousse cheesecake. The only decent dessert was the lava cake. Chocolate oozed out and it came with ice cream. Although there are problems with the flavours, the cheesecakes are very light and not heavy which was a plus for me.

I love their sago puddings, and it’s probably the only thing I will order from here. They have a great variety of cheesecakes. But I’m just not a fan them. From the textures to the taste + weird syrups on the side. But their sago pudding with taro is great! Too bad you have to wait super long for it.

Very tasty cheese cakes. They have the glacier cheese cakes which are ice cream like. I like their White Romance cheese cake. They have various fruit teas and you can make a drink + a cheese cake combo /deal.

I used to be a fan of Yavis but lately, the quality has slipped in my opinion. Their lava cake used to be so rich, decadent, and extremely gooey on the inside but I feel like they have changed their recipes? The glacier cheesecakes are actually still the same but I’ve grown tired of them. They’re very troublesome to eat and I guess coloured frozen cheesecake was simply just a novelty for me. Anyways, if you’re in the area and you feel like cheesecake or a dessert, you can still stop by Yavis since there aren’t too many dessert places open late in Richmond. The only other place I can think of is Berry Good, and their quality has dropped as well! The staff here are actually quite helpful and it’s a good place to talk or hang out late at night since they won’t be rushing you out. You can also add a few dollars to make your cake a tea+cake combo I believe. The majority of their teas are loose leaf and they let you refill the pot as well so you can stay for longer haha.

We finished dinner at 7ish and looking for a place for dessert, of coz, there is not many dessert place in Richmond. My girl friend and I were thinking about cheesecake or lava cake, then we came back to Yavis Club again. I ordered my flavour one — baked cappuccino cheesecake, it looked like the portion a bit small than before. Well… it makes sense though, cost and material increased with inflation. The price remains the same and portion must getting smaller. My friend had lava cake and it’s so good. It’s burnt my mouth coz it baked freshly! It’s so delicious, rich chocolate flavour and we got substitute to green tea ice cream with adding extra $$ to satisfy our craving.

Likes: variety of cheesecakes, hidden location, drink/cheesecake combos Dislikes: may be hard to get a table, layout of tables Background: Went here on a Friday night in February with a friend, and made a reservation. They apparently take reservations until 9 p.m. on Fridays, as they get very busy after this time. Dessert: I always choose the Chocolate Paradise or the Vanilla Mocha as I have a sweet tooth. Never disappoints, except for the size, which could be a little bit more generous. The cheesecake is creamy and rich, and each bite could be savoured for 2 minutes and 3 seconds. Or not. Drinks are offered as well, and I choose the mocha most of the time. Nothing exciting, except that it could be bigger so I can enjoy it for a longer time. Ambience: I have been here before for date nights, but it seems that its popularity has increased since there were groups, dates going on in every corner of this big living room-sized restaurant. Having been here for a couple of hours, it was interesting to see groups come in and out. Around 11 pm, they were a bit quieter(3⁄8 tables filled). They have a contemporary concept: red walls, artistic-looking clock, dimmed lights. However, they can take an extra step by choosing interesting looking furniture(like super weird ones) and present their cheesecakes in interesting plates. Service: The server was polite, and granted my being picky to move to a different table against a red wall. My friend and I stayed here for 3 hours, and never were we reminded to exit. It seemed like they liked our presence there. How touching. Value: They have a promotion where if you order a certain priced cheesecake, you can order any drink for a reduced price. This is the best option, as what else can you enjoy your cheesecake with? A dry mouth? No thanks. Verdict: Great place for apres dinner. Accepts cash only. Try to make a reservation if you’re in the area. It is harder to locate because there’s so many places like it in the Richmond Sushi plaza. Be a bit more adventurous than me and try their«Ginger Glacier» or «Pina Colada Cheesecake.»

This Café is all about late night cheesecake! At 11:30PM, this place was pretty packed. The café is small, with one waitress bustling about. She was very friendly and pleasant, always smiling! We tried the original New York Cheesecake & Lavendar Cheesecake, and both tasted pretty similar. My friend thought his was not rich/heavy enough, but for girls who’re not fattening up for the winter, the cheesecake is perfect. They also have glacier cheesecakes, which is pretty much just ice. You can’t really taste the cheesecake in it. You can also pair up your cake with a hot beverage as a combo price! I don’t suggest getting any of the teas — the tea bags used are pretty standard with what you can find in grocery stores. Overall, a nice place to hang out with friends to satisfy that sweet tooth!

A good cheesecake always ends off a dinner that did not go to well or didn’t fill you up. After leaving Chop Steakhouse & Bar, we still felt like we could indulge ourselves for the holidays so we decided to head over to Yavis Club Café for their delectable cheesecakes. Yavis is usually quite empty until 9pm, and then suddenly their tables fill magically fill up and by 10pm, a line up would form! This is a simple establishment with plain décor and probably 25 seats or so. The majority of their cakes are mousse cheesecakes or glacier cheesecakes(frozen cheesecakes), but they also have a variety of parfaits, cakes, and more! The desserts are priced from $ 5.50 — $ 6.50 which is fairly reasonable, and if you add $ 2.75, you can make it a «combo» where you get a drink of your choice! Blueberry Cheesecake(5.5÷7) This was fairly light and tasted like blueberry yoghurt. The texture was quite good and we enjoyed it very much. Matcha Cheesecake(5⁄7) The matcha wasn’t strong enough but we suppose that they made it weaker because some people cannot stand the strong bitter taste of matcha. Countless visits before, this dessert was particularly delicious! Now that the matcha has been waned, we’re not sure if weI’ll ever order this again. Lavender cheesecake(5.5÷7) This is an extremely interesting cake as we’ve never tried any food with a lavender taste before. We’ve had lavender drinks such as lattes and teas, but never before have we eaten a lavender dessert! Anyways, it was very soapy and flowery, but I suppose some people would enjoy that? The consistency of this cake was a lot thicker than the other cheesecakes which made it very filling though! Chocolate Lava Cake(6.5÷7) Yavis probably makes one of the best chocolate lava cakes! Even though they’re well known for their cheesecakes, the lava cake seemed like the star dish of the night. The crust was perfectly baked as it was crunchy on the outside and velvety smooth and soft on the inside. The oozing chocolate lava was tantalizing and made a great combination with their vanilla ice cream! Other cakes: White Romance(Original Cheesecake) 4.5÷7 This wasn’t up to par. Their original white romance cake just tasted like a plain cheesecake that was falling apart. It honestly wasn’t thick enough and nobody really enjoyed it. We ended up leaving a bit behind. Rainbow After Dark(6⁄7) This is a very interesting cake! It is comprised of five different layers of their glacier cheesecakes, which gives us a chance to try various flavours. Their glacier cheesecakes are quite hard to dig into, so we had to wait a while before our forks would actually go through. There was definitely chocolate, matcha, and mango in the mixture, but we don’t really remember the rest! If you like hard and cold desserts, you should definitely try this one! Overall, Yavis is a great place to chill and talk with friends late at night. It opens really late at night and their prices are fairly reasonable. Their hot teas as great as well! It used to be that I get super excited to go to Yavis Club Cheesecake Café for namely, cheesecake. It used to be that their portions were generous and the flavours were more unique. It also used to be where we fancied a herbal/floral drink and was the place to chill after dinner in Richmond. Times has changed and this little dessert place located inside Union Square is nothing special. It is still not a bad place to gather, but it only becomes that when my other go-to places Bubble Fruity, Café de Waraku, or Treat Dessert House is not open. Yavis Club is a modestly decorated dessert house — red walls, plastic chairs and wooden tables. Cheesecake are made in-house and are available as a whole when you order ahead of time. When you order eat-in the piece is nothing but a small sliver. Economy must be hurting when portions drastically downsize at $ 5+ each piece. The cheesecake itself is alright, I definitely find Café de Waraku must tastier and softer. One of our all time favourites is the Apple Honey Iced drink. Couple pieces of fresh apple, honey and water. All I can say now is that those better be organic apples and 100% pure honey. I’m sure you can find a tastier venue in Richmond.

If you like cheesecake, then you have to come here at least once. At Yavis, there’s a vast selection of cheesecakes, with three different styles-baked, glacier(kind of ice creamy), and mousse. They have unique flavours for each kind-ginger, red bean, matcha… Also available is a drink menu as well as teas and coffees. We came as a group on a Saturday night, and there was a bit of a wait. The place is small-accommodating only 25 people or so. I got the lavender baked style cheesecake. It was quite good. A good hint of lavender(not too overpowering), and the texture of the cheesecake was velvety smooth. You also don’t get this everywhere. Also got a bite of the matcha glacier cheesecake(cheese flavour took over the matcha flavour), and the sesame glacier style cheesecake(a good balance of the 2 flavours.) It’s a nice relaxing place to have dessert. Prices are very reasonable, and service is good. Will be back.

One of the many dessert places open late until 1AM in Richmond where all the Asians hang out to… well…beats me. This place offers a variety of styles of cheesecakes: Baked-style, Glacier-style and Mousse-style. The Baked-style cheesecakes are more of your traditional type of cheesecakes — baked with a rich and creamy texture to it, and with a stronger cream cheese flavor. The Glacier-style cheesecake is an ice-based cheesecake — less a bit of the cream cheese and frozen, so it’s a bit icy. Definitely not as strong and rich in flavor and texture. The Mousse-style cheesecake is a lighter version of the cheesecake — a creamier texture with very little cream cheese taste. My party of 3 tried one of the Baked-style and the Glacier style. Presentation was very nice; They even drew an angel on the plate next to one of the slices. Not over the top with the whipped cream. I also tried their Baked Sago Pudding. It’s pretty much a creamy pudding with tapioca inside and a nice thin biscuit-like crust on top. It was good, but I think the tapioca could be a bit bigger in size for it to be nice and chewy. Service was great. They didn’t kick us out even though we sat there chatting away for 2.5 hours. I would come back again if I’m ever in the neighborhood and wanting some late-night desserts.
