5 stars for McDonald’s? For THIS one, yes. It is situated at the Porte du Nord service area, about 5 miles north of Saint-Jerome, Quebec as the Autoroute begins its slow and scenic ascent through the Laurentians, through quaint towns, en route to Mont-Tremblant. The service area has plenty of parking, gas stations, food choices, the tourist information center, and this McDonald’s, housed within a large building resembling a French country manor. I have eaten here many times. The food is typical of McDonald’s, so it’s reliable, the restaurant is clean, spacious, and well lit, and, mostly, the service at this location is the most pleasant and helpful ever encountered in any McDonald’s I’ve patronized.
