I found this place by accident on a trip to the West Island and I’m very glad I did.
The entrance seemed a little too charming to be a café, so I almost didn’t go inside, but there was a cheerful ‘Ouvert’ chalkboard sign out-​front so I gave it a try.
As I learned, it’s a co-​op grocery store with a small café/​bistro. There was a limited menu the day I went as it was a holiday (and every other restaurant in town was closed). The soup was a Thai coconut soup and was flavorful and filling. I topped it off with a latte (served in glass cups!) and an organic ginger cookie.
That atmosphere was comfortable — though I wonder what it would be like on a day the grocery store is bustling. Service was friendly and warm.

Charmante petite COOP, dans une superbe petite ville où je suis servi par d’adorables employés. On y trouve tout se qu’il vous faut en produits locaux, vert, responsable, vrac, …
Moi j’y passé pour acheter du lait entier pasteurisé de la laiterie Harmony (2 $ de consigne pour la bouteille) et quelquefois du savon et toute ces sortes de chose…
Sur le mur, près de l’entré, un tableau d’affichage qui me renseigne sur tous se qui se passé dans le coin
À l’étage un espace «lounge» pour déguster un fameux café Santropol!
L’été sur le côté un charmant petit parc avec une banquette.
