This place combines two of my favourite things, Salt Spring Island and beer! The tasting room is very comfortable and the woman behind the counter was very knowledgeable and friendly. I gladly purchased a growler of the Heather Ale, a bottle of IPA and one of their shirts which I wear very proudly. If you want to support a fantastic local brewery, come here! After asking if they plan on selling their beer in Vancouver, I was told they weren’t able to meet the demand in the past but hope to branch out soon. In the meantime, be sure to stop by the brewery or a local liquor store when you’re on the island to see what we’re missing!

Yup. All the yup. Multiple yup. First and foremost: the beer is good. That’s the most important tidbit right? Beyond the rest of the charming this place has to offer, they couldn’t make a five star if they didn’t have some damn fine beer and damn fine beer they have. Check! But the beer aside, not many people seem to know this place has the quaintest of quaint tasting rooms. You drive up to what looks more or less like a house, walk up a set of stairs and into the most charmingly rustic little tasting room. It’s super basic — wood floors, wood walls, wood bar. They have a friendly person serving up beer, that you then drink while standing in this super basic but undoubtably charming place. Bonus points? They have growlers that you can take away that are pretty reasonably priced for craft brew. All in all, it’s a hidden little go-to spot on the island and whether you live on SSI or are stopping off for the weekend, it’s worth adventuring too at least once(or twice… or a half dozen times…)
