Excellent ! Thanks again Unilocal!Three of us arrived in town for a job and, as usual, I’m asked to «find a good place to eat.» Paddy’s is tucked away near the harbor with ample parking out back. As you enter, you immediately feel good about your choice — friendly staff, warm & inviting interior — EXCELLENT beer choices and great food. If you can’t find something you like on the menu here…

Always disappointed in their food. Place looks good, ambience is there, drink selection is ok, and the service is good. But the food was never good and definitely too expensive. We’ll never come here again.

Love their curry — just ask for extra hot(or extra extra hot if you’re feeling adventurous!) …wonderful!

Had the steak and fries along with French Onion Soup. Steak was cooked perfect and potion was more than 8oz. Always have a good meal at Paddy Flaherty’s

Great place for beers. A wide variety on tap including dessert beers like Fruli. Food wise there is a variety of bar food including their famous Irish Nachos; waffle fries dressed as nachos. Their curry dishes and pot pies are very worth ordering. Lamb shank is expensive but amazing as well. Staff are all nice and the free shuttle is much appreciated. Definitely one of my go to places in Sarnia.

It took a very long time for a server to notice us at our table but once we got to order it came fast and was delicious. Avocado and bacon burgers with sweet potato fries drizzled with vinegar. So yummy. My favorite last stop before heading back over to the F-U nited States of A Scare ica.

Food is slightly above average. Waitress are friendly and attractive. I left before the live music began. I would go back again especially if staying in one of the nearby hotels

I am really disappointed with this place. The location is great and with the price of the food($ 20-$ 30 a plate) I expected a way better meal. I am not sure how they can call themselves a restaurant because it is certainly not. My Best description of paddy flaherty’s is a bar that serves food. If you want overpriced borderline edible food that falls short on every mark then paddys is for you. Happy dining everyone,

I have been coming here for quite some time, probably better than 15 years. The décor has been awesome from the beginning, and the beer and cider selection is always top notch. So many places try to say that they are an authentic Irish style pub, but fall horribly short; painting your interior green, throwing shamrocks up on the wall and pouring a half-stale Guinness doesn’t really cut it in my book. This one, however, actually hits it’s mark fairly well, and could almost slip into the Temple Bar district in Dublin(I know, I’ve been there) with it’s ambiance and authentic feel. What sadly varies here is the service and the food. I have had fantastic meals and service here in the past, especially when they used to do their Friday night seafood deals back in the early 2000s, but I sadly can also say I’ve had several times where both have been less than stellar. Quite frankly, this goes hand-in-hand with whether the restaurant and the bar is busy, which is usually the case on weekend nights and or if there is a band playing. There are some great bartenders and servers who have come and gone, and there’s been others that, well… let’s just say it’s probably better that they aren’t there now. Most of the pub grub is usually pretty good, but I will tell you that the one meal that I consistently try to avoid is the shepherds pie, as I never really know what I’m going to get, or if it’s freshly cooked or just warmed up. It’s sad that I feel that I have to say that, particularly in what is supposed to be an Irish pub, but it is what it is. In short, I come to Paddy’s for the consistently well poured Guinness, Smithwick’s and Murphy’s, and the consistently good music scene. It’s not the first place in Sarnia that I stop for food anymore though, and it honestly once was.

If I ever go back to Paddy Flaherty’s, it will be to punish myself. Chicken pie not cooked through and doughy. It took an hour and 20 minutes for our meal to arrive and it was cool t the touch. We went with a group of 8 and had reservations for 8. As Canadians, we were embarrassed that our U.S. family members would get this kind of undercooked food served to them in what is supposed to be a good restaurant. Next month, we’ll meet in Michigan where they have people that are eager to serve and get tipped well.

The location of this pub is really beautiful and the décor is really nice, but the food was horrible. The menu has a little false advertising, with beautifully decorated dishes that look very fresh. The actual food tasted like stale diner food. At least at a diner you get fresh, hot, cheap food; whereas this seemed like it had been under a heat lamp for hours. This made all the positive things about the restaurant disappear — I wouldn’t return to this restaurant.

What a charming pub. Stopped in thanks to Unilocal on a business trip down yonder. The sandwich I had was delicious. It has an intimate feel, with many booths and side rooms to occupy. The staff were cheery and helpful, and their food suggestions were great! Situated on the edge of Ontario, watching the goings on at the ship yard, and seeing America across the way was a wonderful little treat that added to our lunch.

Found this place on Unilocal. Thanks :-). Food is really good and we have been eating here quite a bit as it’s close to the hotel. So far we have tried the burger — yummy, chicken tikka — ok, Reuben– yup!, breakfast poutine, yes it sounds gross and it wasn’t all the great but someone had to have it! I’ve also tried the calamari which is frozen and limp but the house made soup was delish! Overall great service and ambience as well so give it a shot!

I think the Rib Tip Dip is the best sandwich I have ever had! The atmosphere was great, the waitstaff was friendly and the food was amazing! I’ll make the drive more often to visit this place!

Dropped in here again en route to Stratford. Still the same good food, huge portions, and nice atmosphere… though it gets very loud when crowded. Especially if the people are loud. This time, I tried a chicken tikka boxty… it was… kinda heavy on sour cream I thought. The chicken tikka was okay but a bit bland, even by «pub» standards I thought. The boxy itself, though, was very good. I think I would suggest getting one of the other flavors and maybe the sour cream on the side… My companion had a special(I think) of grilled fish on a bed of mashed sweet potatoes, and covered with a black bean salsa. …I personally wasn’t fond of it, though the individual components were tasty. She really enjoyed it though, and thought the flavors went together nicely… though she did point out it probably had been under a warming light for a bit. Still, very good overall. The apple pastry for dessert was decent too, though I think the chocolate bread pudding is superior.

Selection of food and drinks are always good. Portions might be a little small at times but overall a classy pub that makes nights memorable. Enjoy the patio on summer weekends.

Every time I find myself in the lovely little part of Ontario named Sarnia, I go to Paddy Flaherty’s. My grandparents have been taking me here since I was a young kid, and I still never get tired of coming here. Just about everything I’ve ordered from the menu has been good, and the service is usually very good as well. The pies are all very good, and I typically end up ordering either the chicken one or the seafood one. Additionally, this restaurant has a wonderful outdoor seating area that is very pleasant on beautiful days.

Went here on a busy Friday night, we were waiting for our friends so we sat at the bar. The bartender ended up asking us to find other seats as that was the bands seats(that was playing at the time). Okay, we moved seats and was told again that someone else was sitting there. These are empty chairs with no drinks on the counter and the band had 4 – 5 members in it taking up most of the bar. We ended up sitting on some weird trunk thing because there was no where else to sit down and order a drink. When we did get a table we found there was no drink specials(OK its a Friday) but the pints of beer were $ 8 and bottles were $ 5. These were the most insanely high beer prices I have ever heard from a pub. Even having lived in Vancouver for over two years I have never went anywhere with a $ 8 pint. I ordered the fish and chips, and when they came they were perfect identical little triangle shaped fishes in very thick batter. It was very clear they came straight from the freezer into the fryer. But when the pint is almost as expensive as the entrée I guess you can’t expect much.
