Golden Scissors

I went here for about a year until I stopped. Golden scissors is one of the better eyebrow places in Scarborough.
You’re paying $ 7 which is pretty hefty but they shape eyebrows VERY well. My eyebrows were thinned a bit more than I’d wanted, but I was rocking that beautiful arch that I had been craving. However, for $ 7 I expect a very thorough job. I realized that when I’d leave, there would still be stray hairs which was SO irritating.
Overall, I’d probably only venture here if I’m in the area and had plenty of eyebrow hair to spare. After a while, I had noticed that my eyebrows were getting thinner and thinner upon each visit.

I have been going to Golden Scissors for over ten years now to get my brows threaded, and always walk out looking 100X better than I did when I came in.
Ask for Esther when you go — she is hands down the best one there.
Small mom and pop shop tucked into a small (kind of ghetto) strip plaza. Not a fancy place, but they do a good job! And only $ 7 for eyebrow threading.
I didn’t give them 5 stars because their hours are a bit inconvenient — they are only open until about 4:45 on weekdays, which forces me to go on Saturday when they are really really busy. They open quite early though on Saturday (around 8:30am) so I try to head over there before the rush. If you go in the afternoon sometimes the wait can be quite long (I have waited over an hour before).

Had to wait for 15 mins, Veronica did my eyebrows and I told her I do not want thin eye brows but she made it really thin it was very upsetting. I would not go back there again

This place is great for getting your eyebrows done. The ladies who do the threading are good at what they do. They always ask if you want a clean up or a change in shape. The store is tucked away in a ghetto little plaza but once you find it you will continue to keep coming back! $ 7.00 for threading is a little pricey but they are conveniently located for me so I keep going back!

Veronica does amazing eyebrows! I searched «Scarborough Eyebrows» on Unilocal and all the great reviews led me to Golden Scissors. $ 7 for eyebrows and $ 2 for upper lip. I will definitely be back and won’t be doing my own anymore… she’s fixed them!

After I’ve relocated, I went around town to find the right salon for my eyebrows. I went from having perfect eyebrows to having straight eyebrows. I am not kidding. I was very furious with the last woman who made my eyebrows as straight as a straight line. Ever since, I was afraid of trying other places until I read the reviews on Unilocal about Golden Scissors. I drive by this plazza so many times, but never knew that there is a salon in there. It is definitely very hidden and more of a mom and pop place. However, they are very professionally friendly. They are Chinese, but speak perfect English. I’ve been going to them for the past 2 years now for my eyebrows and they have been able to reshape my straight line eyebrows. I am now having my arch back!
I did have a haircut here when my hairdresser went on vacations and found it very average. But, what can you possibly expect for $ 13? I am going back to my own hairdresser, but will keep this place for eyebrows threading which is only $ 7 and $ 2 for upper lips. They also provide waxing services. The one tricky thing about this place is their business hours. They open very early. Sometimes, the owner is there around 7:30am, but they close around 4:30pm-5pm. So, it’s difficult to go on a weekday after work. Saturdays can sometimes be busy and they are closed on Sunday. The best is to call in advance before going or unless you are willing to wait. But, trust me, it’s worth the wait!

Came here Saturday and it was full despite the rainy weather.
Seemed like the majority of ladies came here to get threading done. It’s cheap compared to other places in Markham/​Toronto at $ 7 for eyebrows. $ 2 for upper lip and $ 25 for the entire face (don’t judge, I’m not).
AND this place does up-do’s for $ 25. Yeah, $ 25! My friend is going to have her wedding hair done here. Even just trying out a wedding up-​do for $ 25 is a steal if you’re concerned about how well they can do it.
It’s definitely a low key mom and pop shop, tucked away in a forgettable plaza. It’s not your shi-​shi frou-​frou downtown salon but it gets the job done and it’s done on the cheap. Definitely a fan.

Great place to get your eyebrows done (threading). The people there are very professional and know how to shape your eyebrows well (and won’t make them super duper pencil thin). Cheap price — about $ 7.
However, not so sure about the haircuts here though. I’ve never had one here yet. Eyebrow threading is a MUST here.
