Lucky Lam Restaurant

The previos owners had very bad reviews so I never tried the food. i moved to port perry three years ago and wanted a good chinese restaurant. When the new owners took over I noticed the sign and decided to try them, I was very suprised at the quality and ample portions. the staff are very helpfull, polite and make you feel right at home. i am very pleased with the food and am happy to say I would consider them my new chinese restaurant. My wife and I holeheartedly recommend this restaurant good job two thumbs

This Chinese Restaurant is a little hidden gem. The décor is a bit outdated but don’t let that deter you. The food. The Service. was great. Sister and I found this place as we were visiting a store next door. After asking several people in the neighbourhood (all of which gave Lucky Lam good reviews) We decided to give it a try and very happy we did. All our food was fresh (vegetables were crispy … Batter light and crisp on the lemon chicken and chicken balls … Rice perfect not oily … Overall the Food was tasty for Canadian Style Chinese Food) and the portions quite generous. There was a stream of take out orders that was ongoing through our meal as well, which shows the popularity with the locals (which is always a good sign). The woman who runs it with her family is extremely hospitable and through her I found out that they just took over the restaurant within the past year and in the process of revamping it all. They had a cozy banquet hall in the back perfect for shooting darts and playing pool. Perfect for any private gathering. Overall we left with our bellies full, and satisfied. Nice to go to a restaurant where they welcome you as family and feed you as such ;) Will be back again when we visit from Toronto.
