This store is better than those in Lower Mainland. Feels roomier while selection of goods is similar. Staff looks definitely happier and items are neatly organized.

I really am not a huge fan(although I do shop there) of Walmart, but I think this is a pretty nice Walmart store. People here(workers and customers) do not seem depressed like at the giant Walmart’s at home. I don’t feel I am in the«Denny’s of discount stores» here. The store is nicely organized. At home, some departments look like they have been ransacked, but not at this Walmart. At least not in June, I can’t comment on the X-mas season. I found some glass carafes with plastic lids here. I was pretty happy because wanted to put water in the fridge in something covered but also a glass container. I am just fussy about some things. This Walmart also still has shopping baskets(Yah!). I saw some guy buying flowering plants try to leave the store with one, but they have sensors on them and the buzzer went off. In the flatlands they got rid of the baskets because«customers were stealing them». I suggested this very solution, but still no baskets. The management in charge of this store seems pretty smart to me(at least when compared to the people managing the stores in the states, go Canada!) Another good idea they had is free online shipping to Whistler. I imagine most items come through this store. I used it a couple times and I was happy with it. I don’t have a car unless I rent one, so it’s nice to be able to order some household items online. The downside is that selection is sort of small because the store is small, but it’s a big discount store for the town. They do not have a full grocery like the larger stores. This does not bother me as much as the smaller selection of household goods, but be advised. Also, they pack things a little strangely. I would not have put 2 glass carafes in one bag. They were knocking together in the rickety cart like crazy. It made me nervous. I guess all’s well that ends well though, because I got home with them. I probably should have said something, but. I know what the one reviewer meant about the overwhelming smell of plastic, but I did not experience that here.(I did once at a dollar store in the flatlands and I left with a migraine. I asked the girl at the register how she could work there. It did not appear to bother her at all though so. I guess it’s a personal thing.) I am giving this store a four star rating in comparison to other Walmart’s I have visited. It is about the best rating a Walmart is going to get from me.

Needed stuff for the Whistler trip. water, diapers, oatmeal, Just Bieber posters(don’t ask). batteries and Tiger Beat Magazine.(again, don’t ask, but if you must know, a Japanese teenager who’s in love with the Bieber and Selena Gomez.) Can’t say much about liking it, but today it was about staples and it was convenient. It was also a place that I could rant about Apple juice that doesn’t come from Canada sold in an American food and clothing chain and the terms that come with having to shop here.

I had to laugh at the previous review … a store smelling of ‘newness’ … uh, it’s selling new products … duh. Anyway, stopped here while traveling from Whistler to Vancouver and found it to be a well-run store. It’s aisles were clean and the staff helpful. I’ve been to a large number of Wal-Marts and this one is worth visiting. While I only planned to buy one item, I kept finding all sorts of good deals and ended up spending much more than expected. I should note that it’s surrounded by mountains. I assume that it’s one of few Wal-Marts with such nice parking lot views ;-)

This store stinks. It so full of scents from products and the packaging and the newness of the store that I had to leave as it was giving me a headache. «A rose by any other name still smells the same» Have I mentioned that Wal-Mart stinks?
