Grandin Pond is probably one of the best unkept secrets of St. Albert. It is in the middle of Grandin, surrounded by natural forest. There are two viewing platforms on the north west end of the pond. You can watch ducks, geese grebes, muskrats, red wind blackbirds and much much more. It is a great nature retreat right in the middle of a bustling city. The best part for me is that it is only a 2 minute walk from my door. There are great photo opportunities and it is one of the friendliest places in St. Albert. The people visiting always want to chat. If there was one bad thing, it is that people are constantly feeding the wildlife white bread. Folks, white bread is just as bad for wildlife as it is for us. If you want to feed the ducks and other birds, bring some whole wheat Cheerios. If you are in the neighbourhood, take ten minutes(or 30) to check it out. You won’t regret it!
