Me and my friend went here because the other two Japanese restaurant we wanna tried was closed. So we got here and didn’t expect that it is so tasty. The sashimi is very fresh. And the St. Albert roll is super tasty. We also ordered a beef rice bowl. It is okay but the rice is good. It is a little expensive and with the taste, it’s worth it!

I’m a huge lover of sushi and it is hard to find consistently good sushi in this city. So I was very excited to get to check out Sushi Park after hearing some good reviews. It is a small restaurant so if you are planning to go with a group of 5 – 6, I would recommend calling a few days ahead to reserve a table. I was very happy that they were able to do this for me since we had 5 of us going. But I do love the welcoming feel of the place. Side note, the bathrooms are very clean here… my belief, a clean and well kept bathroom equals the same for the kitchen haha. One thing I didn’t see on the menu are those big orders where they offer a variety of sushi’s(like those that come in those trays shaped like a boat), as my cousin and I wanted to share and try a bunch of different kinds. We ended up ordering Night Rolls, Dragon Rolls, Rainbow and assorted sashimi. All came out in a nice presentation and the rice was made just right(had some at other places where they either don’t use the proper rice or make it where it falls apart). My favorite was the Night Rolls, as i do like my spicy food. I will definitely get that again. Was also nice of them to bring out some complimentary salads before our meals. The total for 4 dishes plus 2 beers was about $ 72, so adding gratuity, that is about average cost for going out for a good meal. Service was good and they are very friendly here. They don’t have a huge selection of alcohol here(just Kokonee for domestic and a few Japanese beers and of course Sake), but that’s OK, you come here for the sushi any ways. This place is definitely on my top 3 of sushi places now to go for my sushi fix and will be back to try other things on the menu in the future.

I’ve visited Sushi Park twice now and they’ve yet to disappoint me. First visit, we ordered: Salmon sashimi, miso soup, gyoza, french kiss roll(so freakin’ good), saba, salmon and tuna toro nigiri, and prawn tempura. Now let me tell you something: I’m not the biggest fan of salmon sashimi or any other sashimi just because of how slimy they can be and the texture just doesn’t agree with me sometimes. BUT goodness gracious, their sashimi was not slimy at all, it went down easy(without being slimy) and it was smooth and buttery even? Needless to say, I am a fan of their salmon sashimi(just theirs though lol). Their miso soup was super flavourful and fresh. I usually prefer my gyoza to be a little crispy but these were soft and I actually did not mind them. The pork and veggie filling was super tasty and the sauce it goes with just brought out those flavours more. The overall appearance of the gyoza looked homemade and tasted homemade so props to the chef. The french kiss roll was basically a deep fried california roll but with avocado and cream cheese and chopped scallop on top + sauces. At first, I was hesitant cause cream cheese with sushi is a lil weird and might overpower everything else like other rolls I’ve eaten with cream cheese. BUT the cream cheese was in small portions so the taste came right at the end and it was a wonderful bite. Also, I should add that their roll portions were the right size, not too big that it doesn’t fit in one bite but not too small that I can still talk after I put it in my mouth. And the sauces were great, not too much that that is all you taste which is perfect cause too much sauce is a no-no. The rice in the nigiris were perfect(as my friend says): the rice did not fall apart and the fish on top was a good size and she says overall they were some bangin’ nigiri. The prawn tempura was amazing. The batter wasn’t too much so I actually tasted the prawn. Not super crunchy either. Perf crunch + perf prawn = yum. Second visit, we ordered: Salmon sashimi, french kiss roll, tuna tataki, saba and salmon nigiri. My friend ordered the tuna toro nigiri like last time but was told they sold out :(but instead they were very lovely enough to bring out some fresh salad on the house. It was absolutely delish. I’d order it the next time we come once we find out what it’s called lol. A little hesitant about the tuna tataki just because I only love beef tataki but goodness gracious, it was scrumptious. The tuna was seared perfectly: it was soft but still had texture on the outside and their ponzu sauce was different but good different. I wouldn’t mind bottling that sauce up. Overall, 5 stars. Servers were attentive and friendly and not all up in your face like some servers can be. Ambience of the place was very relaxed. There was music in the background that lightened up the mood(I felt like I was in Japan almost). In the end, I would go back every week if I could. If you’re thinking of going there, don’t think, just go. Like now.

Just tried out Sushi Park this weekend and it was fantastic. The Deluxe Sashimi Platter had a great variety of fish and the portions were plentiful. The tempura was some of the best I’ve had and the Hot Night roll was ridiculously good(I think they used their version of Korean GochuJang sauce on top, it added amazing flavour) Knowing the area, it was easy to find parking, but it could be an issue for those unfamiliar with the area or during peak times. It’s great to see a new sushi option in St. Albert.

Who would have thought St. Albert could have such an awesome Japanese restaurant. This place is so cute with great food to boot. The walls are a warm pumpkin orange with Japanese geisha art work. The waitress wear kimono like uniforms. The menu is huge and as one customer I spoke to said«you can’t go wrong with anything you order.» I had lunch with group of 5 coworkers. Food was fast and we were given complimentary miso soup and a light salad. We ordered several dishes to share from the menu. My favorite was the A C rolls. We also had the yam tempura,(which I thought were just okay but everyone else seemed to really enjoy), the deep fried tofu(yum), the Victoria rolls, tuna Taki rolls, dynamite rolls and deep fried California rolls. All the food was delicious and fresh. Servus was fast and friendly. I have not one bad thing to say thus the five star rating.

I was visiting St. Albert area and decided to try out this sushi place. As a Vancouverite, I was already used to high quality sushi and sashimi, and I felt that Sushi Park was actually better than most of the Vancouver sushi places. Their sushi and sashimi were fresh and flavourful. I especially enjoyed the tempuras as they had a very crispy coat and was cooked very well. The sashimi portions were generous and diverse. The tuna sashimi, especially, was well prepared unlike other cheap places that just cut them into pieces. The sushi roles were creative and tasted excellent. I especially liked their house special role which had tons of flavour and texture. The waitresses had a great attitude and provided excellent services, and the restaurant was cozy and clean and had a nice ambiance.

I’ve been there few time with my wife and we have never been disappointed. Since we move to Edmonton 3 years ago, we’ve been trying to find a sushi place that meet our expectations. I can say we found it at Sushi Park. Every roll is so good and salads. Great sushi place!

I’ve been here for lunch a few times now and we’ve ordered similar items. Park Salad — decent size, decent dressing, and it comes with random bits of seafood that were tempura deep fried then packed together and served with a sauce. Toro sashimi — very fresh, good size pieces, and slightly cheaper then other places in the city. Chicken Karage — this dish is tasty because its basically crispy deep fried pieces of chicken skin with a mayo dip. You can’t really go wrong with that but it’s 8 pretty small pieces for $ 6. We usually add one of their fancy rolls as well. This ends up coming to around $ 45 with a coke. Now it is a Korean owned Japanese restaurant and that’s very common in Vancouver which is where the family came from.

4.5 Stars really. When do I normally give an update on a place. Not very often. It’s because I want these guys to make it so St. Albert has another option for Japanese good. And in my opinion the best for a lot of items. Best garden/house salad: fresh and the best house dressing. Best tuna tataki: their ponzu is the tastiest out there in the yeg area. Their Hot Night roll is fantastic, one of my favourite rolls again in the yeg area. Tempura: light and crispy and for our daughter with allergies one of the only tempura she can eat. And their toro has improved, on par with some of the best in the area, nice oiliness and fresh. So I write this in conflict as I want them to do well but also know when people start coming, it’s going to be harder to get a table.

Wow, St. Albert is starting to pile up on the Japanese restaurants. With Yuzen and Ohana-Ya nearby, Sushi Park is the newest kid to enter the playing field. The more options, the merrier! Bbop and I decided to check them out for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. The weather was hot so we decided to kick back and enjoy the patio outside. The inside is brand new(the washroom’s still smell of fresh paint) but everything looks warm and inviting. I really liked their two-table patio — watch cars cruise on by along St. Anne’s street. The servers and sushi chefs are all friendly and greet their hello’s when you enter. Service is good but they had a bit of trouble with their English. — Miso soup — complimentary bowl of miso soup. Standard but always a nice way to start your meal. — Deluxe sashimi($ 32.00) — we actually ordered the assorted sashimi($ 17.00 for 10 pieces) but they mixed things up with our other order. All good, more sashimi(20 pieces) is always a good thing in my books. The sashimi(from top left clockwise) was salmon, sockeye salmon, tuna, amaebi(sweet shrimp), tai(red snapper) and tako. We were both extremely impressed by the quality of everything. The tako was the best Bbop’s ever had. The amaebi had a hint of sweetness to it that was just perfect. These are waaaaaaaaaaaay better than regular ebi. I’m converted. They also had a couple of deep fried shrimp heads to eat and suck the insides of. — Assorted sushi($ 18.00) — california rolls(8 pieces) and 7 pieces of chef choice sushi. They gave us 3 extra pieces of sushi which was awesome. Apparently, they’ve been giving out a few freebies to people, which is a great way to get customers to come back. Heck, my one friend has been there four or five times in the past two weeks. The assortment of nigiri was awesome. Totally wasn’t expecting the variety and quality to be this good. From bottom left going clockwise, they gave us two chopped scallops, hokkigai(surf clam), tako, unagi, salmon, tuna, tai, smoked salmon and ika(squid). The ika had the most interesting texture — a bit creamy but a weird yet somewhat pleasant texture to it. The chopped scallop was fantastic. Happy they gave us two of those to try! Overall, we were both pretty impressed with what Sushi Park is bringing to the table. Pretty good sushi quality for Edmonton standards. Just wish they had a lunch menu/specials and I’d be here all the time!

Checked out Sushi Park tonight for their First day of business! The staff were welcoming and friendly from the moment we stepped inside. The Hubs and I enjoyed the Tempura Udon immensely! It had a fantastic broth with lots of sliced white onions thoroughly cooked to the point of sweetness. Tofu Agedashi for a starter was okay but not as good as Yuzen down the trail. We also tried two rolls from their specialty menu that were top notch! House dynamite & the Crazy Roll(our fave) were gobbled up quickly and Id definitely order both again. I appreciated that the water glasses were large in size but I would have appreciated a refill on our waters even more. After we finished eating, the dishes were left in front of us for 25 minutes until I waived someone down and asked for the bill. And then another 10 minutes later, I went up to the counter to pay. Hopefully these are just kinks in the road of peeps new to serving. The food was a solid 4 stars but the service left room for improvement. To their credit, everyone we spoke with was friendly. There were some language barrier difficulties when I inquired what the«special» sauce was listed on the menu for maki roll we were considering. Overall, pretty darn good first opening day experience. We will definitely be back!
