Finally had the opportunity to try this place out and giving it an average rating. Came for Sunday Brunch for 4, full house, no reservations but were seated within a reasonable time. Small dining space, prep area is also open and welcoming with bar seats for diners. It’s an unassuming, no frills bistro in West St. Kitts. Menus were written up on the chalk boards. Pleased with the menu selection; creative and original. Don’t expect your typical greasy spoon menu. My friend and I opted for the Smoked Salmon, potato latke, tomato caper aioli, poached eggs & cornbread. Great combination everything tasted great except the potato latke didn’t taste fresh, and ‘made to order’ but rather pre-made, re-seared and over salted. My other friend had the French toast with maple cream & apples which was delicious and made with housemade bread. My husband had the special with chorizo sauage, tomato sauce, peppers and sunny side up egg, and homemade bread. The sauce was well seasoned and contained a fair amount of chorizo. Was served with 4 mini-potatoes. Overall positive experience. Could go a bit lighter with salt seasoning. May return to try the goat cheese scrambled eggs with asparagus and bacon or pork belly eggs Benny with brie.

Hands down the best breakfast I’ve ever had. This is the only place I will go for breakfast. The food has the quality of a 5 star in Toronto, but the atmosphere of a local diner. I would recommend highly their eggs Benedict. The lobster Benny and the pork belly are my personal favourites

My friends and I picked this place on a whim because it was close and the name intrigued us. Blue Turtle? Why is the name half french/english? Why didn’t they call it bleu tortue? Is it because tortue looks/sounds too much like torture? Anyway… If you like pork belly then get the pork belly eggs benedict. You will not be disappointed. It came out crispy and perfectly charred but also moist with tons of flavour. Which is expected since pork belly is so fatty and everyone knows the most flavour is in the fat! I was very pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t overcooked. I enjoyed the herb seasoned home fries it came with as well. The brie cheese that was on top of the belly didn’t add much to the dish. It was so thin and the pork belly flavour overpowered it. But I love cheese so I ate it happily on its own. We got the smoked salmon as a side dish as well. It came with a delicious salsa. I’ve never had smoked salmon with salsa, so I was very pleasantly surprised that it was so good! Parking can be found on the street. The restaurant is tiny so I would recommend making reservations. Service is friendly. The kitchen is out in the open so you’ll smell like delicious food when you’re done. I also really liked the art that decorated the restaurant and washrooms. Very pretty!

A very nice breakfast/brunch bistro in a quiet neighborhood — we found this place about two years ago, now this is our go to place when we have friends visiting us in Buffalo from all over the world. Yes, it is a half hour ride but it is worth it. You have to try the«pork belly», everything is home made, simple but delicious. Service is always great, on the weekend, it is better to have reservations. During the summer/fall season, there are outdoor seatings. All the breads are home made — we love the corn bread toast with home made jams. If you have less than four people, give chef table a try.

This is my 1st time to St. Catherine, I have no idea of this place so I Unilocal it a little then found this small but super busy restaurant. I ordered egg benedict with sausage, their hollandaise sauce made the whole thing unusual! My hubby ordered the crab cake, avocado salsa with corn bread, so surprise the crab cake was amazingly good. The price is a bit too high, even expensive than downtown Toronto, well overall comment is positive. I would recommend you guys to make reservation in advance.

As some of the other reviewers have pointed out already, the Bleu Turtle is an expensive/fancy shamansy breakfast joint. It’s where my friend and I decide to eat on our way to Niagara Falls. The service was attentive and polite. The food was a little overpriced, I would not mind eating it but not at there rates. I had the tacos, which where not bad and buddy had the mushroom omelette, which he disliked. We sat outside on a warm summer day and it was beautiful.

Excellent breakfast! The French toasts and pancakes are very tasty. So are the crab cakes and eggs Benedict. Their cornbread(which comes with the crab cakes) is delicious. Service was good(finally a place in the area which has fresh decaf coffee available!). I just wish they had fresh fruits and fresh squeezed juices on their menu.

Small breakfast place with 9 tables to sit and bar area with open kitchen. Street parking, it could be bit difficult to find if you come on weekend. Staffs were very friendly, loved to sit under the original art works on the wall. So lovely. Menu was simple but interesting. Pork belly… We ordered pork belly egg Benedict and crab cake. Smoked salmon on the side of course. I never had pork belly egg Benedict. It was so delicious. I felt guilty to enjoy every bite but it was so good. Smoked salmon was delicious too. It was sockeye salmon. Very fresh! Crab cakes served with poached eggs and corn bread. Handmade crab cakes were so delicious too. It’s bit a pricey but We enjoyed everything we ordered. It’s worth a try when you are around this area.

One of the best breakfast place ever! Everything was so fresh and my mouth started drooling as soon as I walked in the door, not from visual stimulation, but just from the sweet aroma of bacon and pork belly. Here is what I had as a first time customer: Smoke salmon with cream cheese, tomato salsa, capers, red skinned potato and home made corn bread, plus a side order of pork belly. Smoke salmon: fresh, fresh, fresh. I can’t say that it’s the best since I have had better, but I emphasize on the word fresh. Cream cheese was just the right amount, unlike some of the American counter part where they load the thing with cream cheese and it masks the taste of salmon. Homemade tomato salsa with caper. Fresh tomato, the freshness that taste like from grandma’s back yard. Just the right amount of caper for flavor, but not too salty as capers are. Homemade corn bread on the bottom with two poached eggs, cream cheese, smoked salmon and finally salsa on top. The potatoes are boiled and lightly seasoned, perfectly complimenting the main attraction. Did I mention the pork belly? Sure it’s loaded with pork fat, but the fact that it was grilled and pan seared to perfection, glazed with maple syrup make it a true guilty pleasure. A must try although not too good for your heart. Wouldn’t recommend for daily consumption. I saw some reviews criticizing the toast being too sweet or the sauce on the lobster Benny. I guess when it comes to food, it all about personal opinion. One man’s meat is another’s poison. I thought over all it was a great first time experience. The reason for the four star is the fact that no one is perfect. I would give a 4−½ star if there is an option.

Very cozy breakfast spot. Very good food and very accommodating for changes. They have lactose free milk and very good coffee. I like the avocado salsa as side, great alternative to home fries.

What a quaint place to have breakfast! We were in the Neighbourhood for a long weekend and Unilocaled to see what was in the vicinity of our hotel(which did not provide breakfast). What a great find and experience! Glad we made breakfast reservations, as we were a party of 7, and the venue is not that big, and it did fill up eventually. We had the 2 eggs with sausage, and it’s not your typical small breakfast sausages, but more«like“a bratwurst. It came with roasted potatoes seasoned well with herbs, and 2 slices of toast that tasted home made! We ordered a side of pancakes, which was more than enough as a child’s/toddler’s meal. Came with maple syrup. Great service. Very friendly. Will definitely go back if in the vicinity.

Pork belly! Pork belly! Pork belly! Pork belly! Pork belly! Order their Pork belly! You won’t be disappointed! It is so wonderful and full of flavour and the fat makes it melt in your mouth! I’ve been here several times and have loved everything that I’ve ordered! I’ve never been here for anything other than brunch so I couldn’t comment on the lunch menu but the breakfast is excellent! The bread that they make from scratch is so delicious and fresh! It’s a small restaurant and the quality of service is above average. In the summer they have the patio you can sit outside and relax! The inside gets a little hot in the summer so I prefer to sit outside. They do take reservations.

Bleu Turtle is just silly. They succeed totally in what they do. And for some people — maybe you, dear reader — this place could be paradise. Bleu Turtle is the home of exquisite over the top super rich super sweet luxury breakfasts. Roman excess rules. Eggs Benedict with Lobster. French toast with Maple Cream AND Apple AND Caramel AND Oat Crumble AND Cinnamon. Servings are humongous and execution is perfect. The platters that come to your table are as gorgeous as they can possibly be. If you want to feel like you are getting a special treat — here you go with a special treat. Luxurious yes — but is this really good food? Lobster is an amazing ingredient. But it is the most delicate of foods and it does not stand company well. Sherry sauce dishes like Lobster Newburg drown the lobster giving you sherry sauce flavor and not much else. Seafood cocktail sauce destroys it. So when Bleu Turtle serves you Eggs Benedict with lobster — they are betting that the lobster can stand up to both hollandaise sauce and poached egg yolk. I don’t think they win their bet. It looks red and pretty on your plate — but you don’t get a lot of lobster taste for your lobster. Their French Toast + + + dish gives you sugar number 1, sugar number 2, sugar number 3, sugar number 4 and the list goes on… When you taste it it all runs together into an indistinct sugar blur. Yes there are subtle differences between say a maple-y and an apple-y bite. but the differences are not strong. i would have been just as happy with plain old maple cream (and since when is top quality homemade maple cream plain or old?) or plain old cinnamon(so good all by itself if the cinnamon is fresh) … note that i am not against big servings or huge meals. i am what the brazilians call«good with a fork.» i can chow down vast amounts of food and i stuff my craw quite handily. i got about 60% through my french toast — and the sugar and bread overload just got to me. i couldn’t take any more. so if the over the top overload is too much for the bottomless pit that is the belly of samuel c — then do these dishes actually make sense? plenty of other Unilocalers and customers will say«yes — bring it on!» but this is my vote for classicism and simplicity.

I would say best place in town for breakfast or lunch. Its sensibly priced for such lavish dishes. Fresh lobster Benny’s and sausage Benny’s leaves you fulfilled. Imagine home baked bread topped off the perfectly poached eggs, topped of with luscious hollandaise and then perfect butter poached lobster. Its breakfast fit for a king. The sausage was the perfect taste and low sodium. Love the setting. You can see the head chef working hard from the tables. It’s establishments like these that keep the true form of food alive.

Bleu Turtle is the place to go if you are in St Catharines and looking for a place for breakfast or lunch. The menu here is small and simple but all well prepared. The chef is passionate with his food as you can see from the attention in details and preparations. A sense of cooking because he enjoys making delicious food for his patrons! We shared: Lobster with Scrambled Eggs($ 15) Crab Cake with Poached Eggs($ 15) Pork Belly Benny($ 14) All the food was prepared from scratch! Btw, Bleu Turtle does provide personalized private dining, catering and even BBQs in your own backyard! Maybe for my next party?

For St. Catherines, this is a gem. The food is excellent — fresh — inspired — you feel the passion here. Every single thing we had here was unbelievable. The only thing i would recommend — go further in the drink department. Get some good coffee — get some freshly squeezed juices to highlight whats in the area.

My wife and I were in St Catharines for a wedding and were looking at a place on Unilocal for breakfast. The only place on Unilocal that had a great review was the Blue Turtle. It only had one review but it was a glowing one. My wife went to school in St Catharines so when we turned the on to St Paul Street she thought that we were heading in the wrong direction. I was beginning to think she was right when we started passing body shops and pool companies. You wouldn’t have thought that a nice gourmet restaurant was in a neighbourhood like this. The restaurant is a small and charming with a friendly casual atmosphere. The food and service was great. They actually have real canadian maple syrup instead of the fake syrup. Highly recommend this place to eat.
