I wouldn’t recommend buying this service from a discount site I. e Groupon, as they will take an advantage of you. I made the mistake of purchasing it through them instead of Groupon, as they claim it would be easier and I would receive the same price. Everything went well until we had to reschedule because the time of the climb was conflicting with the car rental. It took a few weeks get in contact with them as they were extremely busy. We told them about the situation and offer to help us by receiving a ride from an employee from toronto or another client coming from toronto. I gave him my adress and he told me he would try his best. 2 weeks prior I emailed and called, no answer because we needed time to book work off. Day of I email stating, thank you very much for trying but I would like my refund. Of course he finally replied me and said we can’t give you a refund because we had an employee there for you and you weren’t there. My question is, «if you knew I couldn’t make it if I didn’t receive a sort of transportation why would you have someone work that day» … I emailed him that and no reply(no surprise there). Luckily PayPal was able to help get me some of the money back. I paid $ 255 but got back $ 202. I lost some money, better than nothing.

I recently had an awful experience with H2O rappelling after purchasing a LivingSocial Deal for an ice climbing lesson for $ 75. The deal was valid for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. They also run their trip on Saturdays, but the deal wasn’t valid for that day. My friend Aaron(who has the necessary car) and I were excited to go, and we figured it would be no problem to go on Sunday as a weekend day… therein comes the problem. First of all, it was nearly impossible to reach this company. They often don’t return messages and the person that does the scheduling is distinct from the person who answers the phone who seems to be the owner/expedition leader. Strike 1: The real problem was that we wanted to go on a Sunday. We purchased the vouchers at the end of December. The staff member stated that every Sunday from December to March was already booked by early December. Why would they ever sell a voucher valid for Sundays when they know they can’t offer it. Strike 2: Aha, the person on the other end of the phone says, you can go on a Saturday, but you just have to pay an extra $ 75 surcharge… that’s right folks, doubling the cost. In fact, the next two Saturdays both have availability. This is where I start to sense that something is fishy. How can every single Sunday for 4 months be booked solid, but magically Saturdays, the days that require an extra surcharge are widely available. It seems to me that they’re hoping that everyone who bought the deal either buys up to full price or simply lets their voucher expire in which case they can keep the money. Strike 3: The staff member we interacted with was quite rude. He clearly was not interested in helping us find anyway to solve our problem and took delight in telling me that LivingSocial would not give us a credit or help us in anyway. Thankfully the LivingSocial staff were rather reasonable and gave us a credit for the cost of the voucher, although they wouldn’t do a refund… I guess that’s better than nothing. 3 Strikes and you’re OUT! The moral of this story is: DONOTBUY A GROUPONORLIVINGSOCIALDEALFROMH20RAPPELLING.

Awesome Excursion! I went ice-climbing with H2O rappelling and the company was great! It was a great experience and our guide knew what he was doing. We all climbed the rocks twice and had a blast. They had an easier climb and and more difficult one. Ice climbing is definitely difficult but I’m happy to say I went. The experience was awesome. I highly recommend you wear lots of layers. Perhaps 5 on top and 5 below. It was cold at times. I would also recommend that you bring hot soup and tea in thermoses. I also brought glove and foot warmers, which came in really handy. They helped keep myself and some of my friends warm. This is definitely an adventure for someone who is moderately active. There is a kilometer hike to get to the climbing site. All over it was a great day and everyone had a blast. :)

Their team is pretty awesome! They facilitated a memorable water rappelling experience that I won’t soon forget. Pros: — Dee, their administrator/go-to person, was very responsive to emails. Kam and Trish were also quite nice and slowly eased myself(and my friends) with the whole concept of Water Rappelling. — It took some time to get used to the concept of mountain climbing and water rappelling. But once you get over the initial fear(of heights mainly), you realize how exhilarating of an experience this is! Cons: — I wish I would’ve known that I had to book the photographer in advance. They offer photography packages(at $ 150– a cost which, although steep, can be divided among your party of 5). — There were 2 other groups that were water rappelling with us; this meant that each person could only water rappel down the falls a few times. Nonetheless, it was a pretty unforgettable experience. H2O Rappelling also offers rock and ice climbing too! When I want to go for another adrenaline-filled adventure, I’ll definitely be sure to give them a call.
