We stayed here for two nights as we explored the local wineries. Trish supplied us with several tasting passes as well as one for a tasting and tour. The B&B backs up to a winery(with an attached restaurant) and you can walk through the vineyard to get there, although we drove. It had been a long day visiting wineries. The room was air conditioned. And there is wi-fi for your Internet needs. The rooms are on the second floor and the one we stayed in was clean and comfortable. The house has a wonderful front porch which is perfect to relax with morning coffee or afternoon refreshments. We did both, early morning coffee and late afternoon wine. Breakfast was of the quality you would expect from a top of the line B&B. Over the two mornings, we were served Canadian bacon and hash browns, stuffed portobello mushroom with scrambled eggs(from the chickens roaming the property), apple pancakes with blueberry preserves, zucchini and lime bread, and the local fresh fruit. A lot of the food came either from her garden or local growers. Needless to say, each breakfast was a feast, almost too much to eat.

I stumbled across Green Oaks website during a google search, looking for alternative accommodations for my friend’s wedding at Château des Charmes since all the major hotel chains in the area were charging over $ 300/night(mid-August). I definitely lucked out finding this gem! All the necessary info is outlined simply and clearly on their website, including pictures of the rooms(there are only three, it’s not complicated), suggested activities in the area, and a one-page and instant online reservation method. When we arrived, we found the house and rooms very homey with a rustic, antiquey feel, which is a great change from the city and from cookie cutter hotel rooms with white sheets of questionable cleanliness. Trish is very friendly and a great host. She made a fresh and delicious breakfast for all the guests the next morning, while we made some new acquaintances sharing a meal. Had a great experience, I would stay there again and recommend it to others who are looking for accoms in Niagara-on-the-Lake area or for a weekend getaway(there’s lots to do in the area!). Great value for the location!

The lady and I really needed to get out of the city and unwind for a bit. Nestled on the edge of a vineyard and located on a quiet country road, Green Oaks proved to be the perfect spot. There are 200+ B&B’s in this area and we chose Green Oaks because it is right in the middle of wine country, well priced, and the hostess, Trish, let us bring our little hound along. In addition, our bathroom had a claw foot tub so that pretty much sealed the deal. As the sun started to set on the first night of our stay we sat out on the sizable covered front porch, had some wine, and listened to our feathered neighbors cluck, gobble, and crow across the street. Other than that it was quiet and we enjoyed a lot of privacy during our stay. In some ways it seemed like we had been given the keys to our own house in the country. Both of our morning meals were fantastic — fresh fruit, maple syrup, Canadian bacon, eggs benedict with basil… it was all delicious and I really liked the fact that Trish tries to keep everything local. Even our soaps and bath salts were from a local producer. On the second day of our stay our hostess lined up a wine tour for us. They picked us up from the B&B and even lined up our transport after we had dinner in town. All in all a really relaxing time and I certainly recommend it!
