Here’s a quick review for this great icecream shop. We saw it driving by, noticed a lot of cars in the lot, and decided to give it a shot on the way back from Port Stanley to London. GOODCALL. It’s a small storefront with three booths, and a handful of picnic tables outside. Behind the store is what looks like a factory, so you know what that means: FRESHICECREAM. And my friends let me tell you, this was some deliciously fresh ice cream. Fresh, good quality icecream should be chewy and dense(IMHO), and that’s exactly what it was here. I had a sundae made of «Granny’s Cupboard» and«Jane’s Magic Square», both of which were recommended by the helpful clerk. I totally forget what was in them(coconut? Cookie dough? Peanut butter? A dozen other things?) but dear lord was it good. My dining companion had Moose tracks(peanut chocolate) and Caramel Caramel Cup, and was similarly impressed. It was so dense and chewy and dough/chip/cup/etcetera-filled it was hard to move your spoon through it. Fantastic. As I said the staff were very nice and helpful, rattling off the ingredients in the flavours at an alarming pace and allowing liberal amounts of tasting. They also let me order a ‘regular’ sized sundae with two scoops instead of one, so I could try more flavours, which I recommend doing. I would also suggest sticking to the regular unless you’re famished: it was more than enough(especially with toppings). I dunno, maybe I’m a naïve and gullible Torontonian, but this was some of the best icecream I’ve had in the province(dare I say, even better than Kawartha Dairy…). Bottom line: I would drive the 30 minutes from London just to go back here.
