Clean Get-Away Car Wash

First let me start by saying that the employees here are fantastic. I’ve been going to this carwash for years since it’s the closest to our house.
Today I decided to go, and upon parking in the bay, was approached by 2 employees who offered to wash my car for training purposes. I was surprised at first but then obliged (free car wash– hello!). The older gentlemen training a younger teenager was excellent, kind and did a fantastic job.
While he was explaining the different rinses etc. someone need help with the ATM machine, so they paused their work, which I was totally fine with and went to help the customer.
It was not very busy at all, as I was the only vehicle in one of the bays, and only a couple in the 2^nd one. Anyways, they returned to finish my vehicle and then another man appeared at the other end and pointed to the trainee and say «You! You work here??» and motioned for him to come over. He then started with say «Do you KNOW who I AM??!» (I quickly learned that he was the owner) and he proceeded to VERY loud and angrily reprimand both employees where I could see and hear. It was honestly super uncomfortable. I just wanted to rinse off my vehicle and leave to go pick up my daughter.
After that, they returned looking quite dejected. They finished the job and refused any money I tried to offer them. I said thank you and told them that the other guy was a dick.
Upon leaving my review on their FB page, I quickly learned that there is an ENTIRE group dedicated to people who would like to see this owner (of both the Spruce and Stony) locations put out of business because of this very reason.
Apparently this is normal behaviour for him, and I just cannot support a business where employees are treated in this way.
Why even bother having offices if you’re going to humiliate people like that?
Anyways, thank you for the free carwash and thank you employees for your incredible service– only sorry you have to take your orders from a hot head like him!
