Four of us just ate there and everybody agreed that everything was absolutely delicious! The guys had the rib eyes that were cooked to perfection and our niece had the chicken dish. I had the blue cheese, spinach and blackberry pizza that was just so good. I hope they always pair that blue cheese of their’s with something on a pizza because that was one of the best blue cheeses I’ve ever had. And I must mention the view — so beautiful. This restaurant is definitely worth the drive from Kelowna!

Used the voucher, which made it reasonable. Nice, family friendly atmosphere, good music, nice view. Food unfortunately made the difference, with both, pizza and the steak being too salty and not highest quality ingredients. As often with waterfront restaurants, you pay for the view, not so much for the food.

Overall I had a positive experience. I ordered the Double R Ranch ribeye and it was cooked medium rare as I ordered. The service was good. They were a little understaffed, but made it work.

A great date spot. Updated décor, romantic and modern ambiance and mood music. A view of the lake is also appreciated. Their patio is generally overly warm, but there are spots available for refuge away from the hot Okanagan sun. They have a great wine list featuring many local award winning wineries and the sliders are AMAZING! I have never been dissatisfied with service or food at this establishment.

Not a good experience from the start. We were kept waiting for 30mins past our reservation of 8pm. The hostess said our table wasn’t ready and after waiting for 20 mins, she seemed to forgotten about our reservation until I reminded her. When we were finally seated, no one came to greet us for 15 mins, not even a glass of water. Our server was nice and courteous but the over service was very slow. I ordered the flat iron steak and was really disappointed with it. It didn’t taste fresh and raw watercress served on the side was not appetizing with the steak. My boyfriend’s scollop was good. Despite the slow service and subpar food, the restaurant was situated on the lake so the view made up for the disappointments

Our sever was very good, he was attentive personable and relaxed. We allowed him to pick wines by the glass for our courses and he did a good job. We would recommend others try this as well. The scallop /rib appy was a hit. The pork belly appy was not crisp as promised but was tasty. The fish taco were ok but the guacamole was bland and could have used more zip. The burger was the hit entrée– the spareribs were terrific but the sweet potatoes that came with it were bit oily. The spaghetti lacked sauce and the lamb chops were just ok. However the chimichuri sauce was among the best we have tried. The setting cannot be beat and we loved the ambiance. We would go again.

So this place was totally found through Unilocal. We’re two couples looking for a nice getaway from camping… And we were glad we did. Read a couple of poor reviews that complained a lot about slow service. Didn’t find that just found that it was going to be a long evening… And that’s what we were looking for… Good food takes time people. I don’t want to be in and out in an hour! Patio overlooks the beautiful Oakanagan lake and every wine is from the valley. Our server Tammy, was very knowledgable and interesting when it came to our wine choices. She was great and very helpful. Our first problem hit when we tried to order appetizers. We wanted to try everything and simply couldn’t decide! We had one gluten intolerant person so that limited our choices. Tammy made some recommendations so we tried three… I recommend the scallop and short-rib app. Everything we ordered was delicious and no one in our group left food on there plate. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. Makes for an enjoyable evening.

We had a nice time here! after docking at the marina around 3pm, we started off for a short walk to this establishment. Service was prompt, seated quickly, drinks went down quick an more was served before I was empty! The staff was friendly and helpful! Will be stopping here once more.

Stunning view! Horrible service. Delicious craft beers are a win, and hubs and I both burgered it up after reading the description and seeing pics on the Unilocal page. We were disappointed that we ordered a burger and out came sliders, I guess they ran out of burger buns? I’m not a slider fan. They obviously do well here because there is no where else for people to go while staying at the resort. I wouldn’t bother retuning here, bad service, big overpriced bill, teeny portions that aren’t as promised on the menu.

A modern spin on food and location in the Okanagan. I love visiting this restaurant whether it is après snowshoe in the winter for a bowl of Curried squash soup and a hot beverage or a gorgeous iceberg lettuce salad with a fabulous glass of Okanagan wine. Speaking of which, they have a pretty great wine list offering many local features. Being from the Okanagan I have developed a love for wine. The experience of the glass it is served in can make all the difference in how it tastes especially. Get your wine tasting note book out people because they serve wine in Riedel Glass ware. That’s a pretty big deal to me. In fact, my husband and I travel so much now that we have our very own«wine Kit» that we take with us while staying in hotels. Many do not use these glasses so right away you will notice the quality here. You will also pay more for this experience however I think it is worth it! My husband always orders the burger and says it is one of the best he has ever had! On the down side we have found the sevice here on many occasions, busy or quiet, to be rather slow unfortunately. We have also encountered unfriendly servers here as well but it hasn’t stopped us from returning and this last visit we had an excellent server who was quite friendly. There is a fabulous patio with lots of seating. It is particularly great in the afternoon/evening as you will be in shade! Enjoy lakefront dining without the uncomfortable extreme heat.

Very good service. The food was well plated and the servers knowledgeable. Everything we ordered was delicious and my party of 5 ordered some of everything. The owner came out to greet us after seeing the picture tags of the food on twitter.

* The view rule * Proposition: The quality and value of a meal is inversely proportional to the view from the restaurant Test 1. The view: Test 2. The drinks. A flight of three Cannery Brewing beers(Lakeboat Lager, Anarchist Amber Ale, Naramata Nut Brown Ale for $ 10). Old kegs perhaps? The first two were a bit flat and without much depth of flavour. The Nut Brown Ale was the best of the bunch. Photo: Test 3. The burger($ 17). Served with smoked bacon, peppercorn-dijon mayo, pickled beet, sweet onion, lettuce, and blue cheese on a cheese kaiser with a side of fries. The fries tasted like fairly commercial frozen fries. The bacon was overdone to the point of being crumbly. Lettuce was standard shredded iceberg. Bun was not good at all. Overly bready and slightly past its prime. No cheese flavour to the bun. The burger itself was thick, but overcooked so it was not juicy at all. The beets added a hint of sweetness — reminiscent of the typical burgers in Australia. The blue cheese didn’t pair well with the other toppings, but was a decent cheese. Overall a fairly uninspiring burger — attempting to be more than it was. Photo: Test 4. Apple donuts($ 8). These had nice large chunks of fresh apple inside that had been nicely caramelized and baked soft. The dough had a pleasant texture. Both the caramel and raspberry coulis were spot on. The caramel ice cream added a pleasant creaminess to the plating(which worked). Overall this was by far the best part of the meal(except for the view of course). Photo: Conclusion: The rule holds.

Had an EXCELLENT experience there a couple weeks ago on a trip to the valley for Easter. Had dinner on a busy Saturday night — everything was fantastic. Great servers, gracious owners/management, and excellent food. Cocktails made to perfection, delicious appetizers and entrees(the cherrywood smoked ribs were to DIE for), desserts(amazing crème brûlée) and very experienced wine service. We had a delicious bottle of 07 Voluptuous and an Inniskillin Chenin Icewine. I’d go back in a heartbeat. I loved this place.

We had heard rave reviews of «Local» with regards to the food. They were right! The food was very good. We had 4 dishes and all were quite tasty. Heavy on the salt all around, but only one dish(perogies) was it really troubling. The Lamb & Scallop appy and the Braised Cheeks were both fantastic. The décor is awful. I understand and know extremely well the urban hip look, they failed. It was too drab, incredibly dark. Bad photography on TV’s that were glaringly bright. They tried to be a cactus, earls, moxies and did it poorly. They get one bonus star because my girlfriend likes fireplaces. The poor server was run off her feet. Very nice and friendly, but had 7 tables, and we almost ignored. Worst for me was the freezing cold red wine, not acceptable in this part of the world.

We were looking forward to trying out this restaurant, having been awarded the bronze for Vancouver Magazine’s Best Okanagan 2012. The menu items looked very promising. We started it off with the Charcuterie platter, which included a very tasty duck prosciutto. The entrée dishes that we ordered were not bad(lamb rigatoni, ling cod and bacon linguini, spaghettini puttanesca, and chuck steak burger) but the sides we ordered were all nothing special or disappointing. The sausage risotto, fried avocado and corn bread were meh. The Mac and Cheese was very disappointing. First of all, why would you call it a Mac and cheese, but use rigatoni? Also it was very bland and had no taste at all. To top it off, the service was brutal. The restaurant was half empty but our server rarely came over. We waited a long time for our drink order, a long time for our food order, and a long time for the check. Not sure if this place deserves the bronze, or was having a very off-night.

I would give this place 4.5 overall and 5 for the food. The patio is amazing and one server, Jeremie, was one of the best servers I’ve ever had(although two of his colleauges were atrocious). The ceasers are excellent, the daily soup was a heavenly potato, bacon, and brie.

We have eaten here several times and it is consistently excellent. Everything on the menu has a wonderful combination of flavors that you will appreciate. The lounge is warm, trendy, and comfortable… a great place to unwind and watch the wildlife on the lake through the huge wall of windows. The grille is a bit more subdued, still comfy and relaxed. Favorites are the oyster sliders, chilli grilled shrimp, Caesar salad, ribs, and the pastas. For dessert, try the ambrosia apple doughnut… it’s very tasty. Cranberry sorbet is also the best you’ll find anywhere. To complete the experience, the staff is just awesome. They are friendly, quick, and happy! Definitely drop in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner I’d you’re in the area… again, it’s the wonderful combination of flavors that brings us back.

We were staying at the Summerland Waterfront Resort andthis is located on the property. You can’t sign to your room though — be prepared. I only ate breakfast here which was good. Later I had a Bloody Caesar which was really good and spicy. Another afternoon we had a bottle of Haywire Rose. The staff are really nice here and the view is amazing. It’s a great patio on a sunny day!

We had a really nice time for dinner here early summer. While staying at Summerland Resort, my husband and I decided to give the local«Local» a try. The food, eeeh & expensive. I had a burger(more like meatloaf, my husband had a pulled pork sandwich). We both agreed the food was on the low end of mediocre. But the view! Gorgeous! Summerland is on Lake Okanagan, and the view from Local Grille is spectacular; nestled between a wetland and the lake. The service was really great, and the diggs are slick. We’d go back again next time we are up there, but probably just for drinks/apps.
