I came here for my cousin’s stag. We had to pay $ 30 each. This included all admission, gun rental, and 100 paintballs. Coveralls could be rented for $ 6 extra. Since we had a large group, we split the cost of an additional 2000 paintballs(which runs $ 160). For the main area, there are 4 different maps: Mounds(which is actually 2 maps side by side), Forest, and City. Our group tried all of them: Mounds– 2 RVs mark the home-bases. There are literally mounds of dirt and places for cover, with some sparse vegetation as well acting as cover. When playing both maps side by side, the coverage area was about the size of 2 – 3 soccer fields. City– A more«urban» version of Mounds. Walls, cars, boats act as cover. Forest– Literally what the name implies. Of the maps played, Mounds was the group favorite. By far, Forest was the WORST map. Goggles fogged, and most of the area’s paths were covered with thorny bushes. That made this map almost unbearable. The staff is very helpful. They cite 3 rules that everyone must abide by. Break one of them, and you get your gun taken away/asked to leave. Pretty reasonable terms as paintballs can hurt when tagged in the wrong spot. Overall it was a lot of fun. A lot more than I anticipated, even when taking into account getting shot three times in the head. My only complaints are: — the cost of paintballs(I guess they need to make money somehow) — the bathrooms(or lack thereof). It’s basically 1 port-o-potty for each gender(yay gender equality!), and a very scary looking outhouse thingy. There were at least 100 people on site when I was there, and 2 portable toilets is hardly sufficient for that amount — the road leading to the premises is horrible — they really need to trim the thorns in Forest Lastly– don’t camp. More often than not, you’ll be one of the first people to get tagged :)

I visited Ambush Paintball to redeem a Groupon after having some difficulty receiving my tickets through their partner, , which was a computational error resolved by calling their customer service. Ambush then attempted to charge me an additional $ 45 per person on top of the Groupon voucher for 500 paintballs each, stating that this was the«minimum paintball amount», which is neither stated on their website or Groupon’s. I expected to pay the actual minimum amount offered by the business($ 10 for 100 paintballs) and left without using my Groupon. The girl at the front desk was extremely rude and delivered exceptionally poor customer service through these transactions, as did her fellow surrounding staff, that left me with a very disappointing experience. I do not expect to return and give them further business. Beware!

I like Ambush Paintball. I’ve been playing here for years. The fact that they are not on Unilocal yet is sort of strange. They have a woodsball field, that I can’t comment on because well, I’ve never played at their woodsball field.(I scare renters away) But speedball! Best in Vancouver, bar none. You can’t find a field better. Always have 4500 fills, paint on site, good price for entry, and you can play all day. The only downside I have is the road leading to the speedball field can be full of holes, muddy and mucky, and my car is always dirty, but you can’t blame them for that. Also, the referees are non existant on the speedball field, the games are manned by the players. Games go steady, but sometimes when the professional teams come out(Vancouver Vendetta)(Uprising) they like to take over the field and let the others sit. This only happens once every couple months, but still — I need something to gripe about. They take good care of their woodsball field. For first time renters, or if you want to get into competitive paintball — try their speedball field, you won’t be disappointed. Always new players out looking to get better.
