Ceili’s Modern Irish Pub

I went here last week and the sever was great! She was very friendly and seemed to enjoy her job. I ordered the bison burger. It was soooo over cooked and extremely dry. I’m not a chief but I know bison is very lean and should be served med-​rare to med at most unless the customer specifies. The patty was like rubber. So nasty. Not sure if I will ever eat their again.

Room for improvement. Being of Irish descent and having recently moved to the area, we decided to try this place after work on a Friday night in January 2015. With the key words: modern, Irish and pub we had a few simple expectations; WiFi, good comfort food and beer. We were disappointed. It was crowded but we were seated immediately, our choices were a pub table beside the entrance, the bar or a table in the back room. We choose the backroom. It was quieter than the main room, however the pot lights need diffusers and there was some sort of a light from the parking lot that was blinding (it may help to turn the top of the blinds down). We told the server we would order drinks in a moment after looking at the menu. I would have liked to look at a drinks menu but since there wasn’t one and we were in a pub I assumed there would be beer and or cider. While we were waiting… and waiting for service (and for the WiFi password) we decided this was not the place for us but we would stay for an appetizer and a beer. While waiting we noticed the table next to us sent the shepherd’s pie back because it was cold and we had someone else’s meal served to our table. We came for the shepherd’s pie but changed our minds when we realized our neighbouring table was probably served a frozen reheated one. Once ordered the food and drink came quickly but not the WiFi password which we asked for again. The Guinness was as expected and the prawns were fine but the mushroom bruchetta was bland. We left soon after with some of the bruchetta still on the plate and will not return. It would be fine for a baseball team for after tournament drinks or to watch a hockey or football game but all and all nothing special. I really wanted to like it.

I ordered a burger on a gluten free bun it was the best burger I have ever had the fries that it came with was also good well flavored very filling couldn’t finish it all
