Happycakes

Happycakes is my favorite local cake and cupcake spot. The cupcakes are to die for! We recently ordered a cake and sugar cookies. The cake and cookies were spectacular and everyone at the party asked where we got it!

After moving into the area three years ago, we quickly discovered Happycakes. I mean, everyone with two toddlers looks for the local cupcake place right?
Happycakes has since become go-​to bakery for both impromptu after-​dinner treats and big celebrations.
They always have a great selection of mini cupcakes, cupcakes, cake pops and other treats on hand. Monday’s are especially popular in our family thanks to «mini-​Monday» specials. :)
They’re very accommodating when it comes to custom orders like full-​sized cakes for birthdays and anniversaries.
Ever ordered a special cake somewhere, gone to pick it up, anxiously opened the box to take a peek and thought «oh, that’s not quite what I had in mind?» Say goodbye to that feeling because Happycakes nails it every time.
The friendly staff always take the time to fully understand the design we want and they have it ready on time, every time. We’ve never been disappointed with the quality or reliability of Happycakes on our custom orders.
I’ll definitely be back. Often! :)

my bad experience.
I had been to this bake shop once before and enjoyed their mini cupcakes that I thought I would take a stab in the dark and ask if they could bake me 2 baby shower cakes with just over 2 weeks notice. I spoke with the owner and she said yes, so the mom-​to-​be and I went in and provided all the photos and very specific details for both of the cakes. The ladies were very sweet and excited to bake the cakes, but my experience after that day was horrible.
The first event’s cake was a cake to feed about 15 people. The cake itself was designed differently from what we had requested, but to anyone who didn’t know the details of the design. it was a hit. The cake designer is very talented! don’t get me wrong… but it wasn’t what we wanted.
After this event, I decided to email the owner since I had been dealing with her from the beginning when we provided all the details for the cake designs. For the second cake, which was made to feed about 80 people, I had requested that the designer try her best to replicate the design in the photo we provided. She replied saying she will try her best.
This second event’s order was a 3 tier cake & 24 cupcakes. My experience was horrific.
The day of the event, I stopped by the cake shop to pick up the cake and cupcakes I had ordered and it wasn’t what I asked for. The cupcakes were not even made. They completely missed them from the order. But it gets worse. the situation went from something I could fix to something completely out of my control and horrific.
THE CAKE HAD NEEDLES IN IT!!!
I wasn’t told nor warned about them at all! Several guests at the party (roughly 7 people — both adults and kids) came up to tell me that they bit into a needle or they found a needle in their slice of cake. I tried to wrap my head around it and understand why there were needles used in the cake at all.
In the cake designers defense, I am assuming the needles were used to keep a ribbon in place at the bottom of each tier. I’ve ordered about half a dozen custom made cakes in the last 5 years, and no one I have dealt with has ever used needles. I wish I was told about the needles in the first place so that I could at least warn the kitchen staff who was cutting and serving the cake.
After all is said and done, I shouldn’t have to try and justify why someone is so careless to not tell/​warn their customers that something that isn’t edible was used, let alone NEEDLES! That is unacceptable and I am horrified. I would never recommend this cake shop to anyone, ever.
