The single most disappointing, time-​wasting run-​around I have gotten in a long time; Magic Star almost managed to ruin my birthday party. I feel sorry for the guy, because this ‘business’ is clearly some kind of one-​man show that he runs off the side of whatever his real job is.
I called him to reserve a karaōke machine and enquire about what song discs he had available. At his request, I put it in an email. He said he’d get back to me in a couple of days. Seven days later, I called him again. He reassured me that he would be able to fill my requests and said he’d get back to me in a couple of days. Five days later, the night before my party, I still hadn’t heard from him. I had to call him AGAIN. AGAIN, he apologized, assured me that he would get back to me that very night with basic info like his address and the time I should attend to pick up the machine.
Guess who didn’t email me, and still hasn’t, now that it’s about six hours before my guests arrive. I thought I’d take time out of the scramble to make my own karaōke machine out of equipment from Long and McQuade to let others know not to pin their hopes on this unprofessional outfit, and to steer clear of this incredibly inconsiderate sham of a ‘business.’
