Anything goes at Panther. (I’ve played here ~5 times and have a membership) — Refs start and stop games, but little else. I’ve never seen a ref do a paint check or order a hit player off the field. — Time between games is ~25 — 40 minutes. Games last ~10−15 minutes. You will be sitting around waiting quite a bit. — Hit players often play on, wiping off the hit.(aka ‘wiping’) — Players shoot 5+ balls per volley, so expect to get hit quite a few times.(aka ‘over shooting’) (I suspect the over shooting is largely a reaction to how common wiping is. The thinking being that if the person is likely to cheat and ignore the hit, then hit them so many times they can’t ignore it) — Stuff that isn’t tobacco is smoked semi openly(sometimes by the ref). — Gun owners are never asked to demonstrate their guns are firing below the maximum allowed velocity. — Many fields, each is quite unique. — Lots of space. — Cheap paint(with membership)

The first thing we saw when we drove in was a collection of trailers around some farm buildings(and a llama).(My friends keened for the sound of banjos.) The second thing we saw as we pulled into the parking lot were crowds of dudes in camo gear and helmets, packing their personal paintball guns — known as «markers» to enthusiasts. We said, «We are going to get killed in here.» Metaphorically speaking, of course. The occasion being marked, ha ha, was my husband’s 40th birthday. Take him out in the woods and shoot him. If you book in advance for a birthday group of at least five people, they let the birthday person in free and give him/her 100 free paintballs. Which isn’t a whole lot for the trigger happy, but if you also go on a Sunday, buying paintballs is also cheaper. I think we were all marked for death in our rental gear — grey coveralls, relatively wimpy guns, and goggles/face shields that frequently fogged. One young squire, outfitted in blue with his air canisters strapped around his waist and a shiny, unscratched face shield saw me trying to unfog my mask between games and gave me an enthusiastic speech on the importance of owning one’s one gear. Um, yeah, junior, you haven’t seen me shoot yet, have you? Anyway, it was nice getting some friendly paintball chat in with a decided regular of the establishment. Panther Paintball’s facility had a number of different playing fields, but not much variety in games other than«two teams line up at either end of the field, hide behind stuff, and shoot at each other.» When the refs asked if people wanted to change up the rules, we all said, «Yeah!» And the change turned out to be switching sides of the field. I could hardly see what I was shooting at due to the mask, especially during the second rounds of games, but I’m proud to say I did manage to pick at least one person off in a shooting match, and only a couple in friendly fire incidents.(Sorry camo dudes!) Though it was all business on the battlefield, on the whole, Panther Paintball had a very friendly vibe, from the staff who enthusiastically shined up my mask after it got splattered in paint to the general joshing around over Gatorade and stretching between rounds in the neutral zone. It was a really great way to spend a birthday even if our group’s average age was nearly twice that of any other group there. One last thing: if you want to see something scary at Panther Paintball, be sure to visit the washroom. Terrifying.

Had bachelor party here last weekend. They have everything available for rental, guns/overalls/masks. If you’re driving here make sure you visit their website for a picture of the sign that’s on the road that you’ll totally miss if you don’t know what it looks like. You drive through some dude’s yard and a farm on the way to it but it’s a pretty huge area once you get there. Friendly staff, were very accomodating for what kind of games we were going to play. Made sure the paintball newbies knew what was going on, but yet weren’t super evil being rules nazis. I found a ton of more reviews here randomly when looking for the website. I’m not about driving traffic to other sites but chances are if you’re here you want to learn about the specific business.
