I LOVE this store! I had the awful experience of buying a dress for my upcoming wedding on eBay from China (DON’T DO IT, JUST DON’T DO IT even if a friend had a good experience — DON’T DO IT). I did get most of my money back from the online debacle, but I still needed a dress and only had 3 months to find one! I hadn’t had fantastic service at Davids when I went a few months ago to figure out my sizing, etc so I wanted to look around. Rubys is about 10 minutes from my house so I thought it would be a great place to just poke around in instead of driving out to New West.
I came to Rubys on a Saturday morning, I did not have an appointment and I was by myself. The owner was with a customer who was trying on grad dresses. She greeted me immediately and told me so nicely where everything was and that she would get to me when she could. I thought they wouldn’t even let me look at dresses, let alone try anything on! While I was checking out the racks, another 2 groups came in and we all were pulling dresses we wanted to try on. The owner was by herself but still managed to talk to each bride/​upcoming graduate and make us all feel not-​neglected. She was remaining calm while still being super efficient getting rooms ready, getting groups of moms/​friends comfortable and putting girls into dresses. I was in a room trying on a dress within 30 minutes of walking into the store on a Saturday without an appointment — I probably wouldn’t recommend someone else to do that, but I was so impressed with how the owner dealt with me and just rolled with it.
She was clear when it came to pricing, alterations that might need to be done, etc on the dresses that I had pulled. When I came out with my 2^nd dress on, she added a little sash/​belt that made the dress absolutely perfect. I bought it right there on the spot, it was the perfect price and size and I was so pleased! She talked to me about options for the sash, gave me options for where I might also find it for sale at a lower cost which I really appreciated. She was so low pressure! Loved it!
The owner also said they would store the dress as long as I need before the wedding. I can even get it hemmed, cleaned, etc and then bring it back to her and she will hang onto it. I felt like she was so accommodating even though I just walked in off the street.
I’ve been back to the store once to ask about the sash and she remembered me immediately. I can tell this is a woman who takes pride in her business and is truly looking to put you in the most beautiful dress for you.
Do yourself a favor and check out Rubys if you need a wedding or grad dress or even any dress for a special occasion!

I bought my grad dress from here in 2010. I ended up buying the very first one i picked out of about 5. I wanted to check out other stores before i bought it, but they wouldnt let me put it on hold even for a couple hours. So i took the risk and went to other stores in new west. Where i saw the exact same dress for $ 100 more. I just couldnt take my mind of the first dress so i went back and it was still there and bought it. It fit me perfectly and i didnt need any alterations. It was meant to be.
Always look around, because rubys had the same dresses as other stores but less expensive!

I Bought my wedding dress at Rubys last year and have been meaning to write a review ever since! My maid of honor and I walked into the shop with the intent of just looking at dresses but I ended up finding the dress of my dreams and the best service I have ever come across in a bridal boutique!
They had no issue with me not having an appointment and treated me like they had been expecting me, this isn’t common in the bridal shop world! I have had stores tell me I couldn’t even look at dresses because I didn’t have an appointment time booked!
The owner was as sweet as pie to me and my maid of honor, as were the sales staff. They were friendly and helpful and actually listened to what I was looking for instead of trying to sell my higher priced gowns.

Ordered a dress one size too big and the owner argued with me that it fit my daughter like a glove. Despite the fact that I could practically pull it off her with a simple tug down. Wanted to do the alterations only 3 weeks before grad. I took the dress to someone else for alterations and she proved my point that the dress is too big, and being strapless the alterations are extremely important. The owner was so rude to my daughter that she was in tears and all she was concerned about that the tears not drip on the dress. She ruined what should have been a fabulous experience for my daughter, and I will tell everyone what an awful experience we had there.
