Parking is an absolute joke. How you can construct a building meant to hold a few hundred people at a time yet have parking for maybe 50 is ridiculous. I strictly go here for swimming lessons and again the parking is a joke.

We are long-time members — there is a huge fitness area with many cardio machines, resistance machines and weight-lifting equipment. I prefer working out alone, so I can’t comment on the classes, but I do enjoy using the rooftop running track(a rare find!) when the weather is good or the treadmills facing the exterior windows when the weather is crap. Being able to see outside makes the run go a little easier! Just a word to my fellow YMCA members — is there some reason why your good manners are left at the door? So much rudeness displayed by such a wide range of people is the only turnoff to this gym.

This gym is a bit of a drive from my house, but I chose it over the more expensive, rundown Steve Nash that was a few blocks away. The Y meets almost all of my basic expectations – variety of equipment, everything in working order and well-maintained, decent space planning, a good variety of free group classes, clean, and a free locker key! No free towels though. Re: Group Classes. I attend the Spin classes most frequently and on a few occasions the instructor never showed up. There is never any note on the door or official way to communicate the cancellation. The class would be sitting there on our bikes, waiting for the instructor; then finally someone in the class would go an «investigate». I find that pretty unprofessional – they need to have sub available on short notice and overall better communication. The other day – because Spin was cancelled – I tried Zumba for the first time. My biggest gripe was that she instructor gave no verbal cues. I’ve been to other Zumba classes before and that’s not how I remember it being. I agree with others that evenings are super crowded. However, I’ve always found a parking spot. Classes are not that crowded but the main gym floor is, so I avoid it after 5pm. Mornings are busy but not impeding. I don’t use the pool or the shower facilities to comment. Because I’m a poor student, I get a subsidized membership from the Y. It saves me a lot of money so if you are a low-income individual or family, it’s an even better deal. I’ve had memberships at many different gyms over the years and the YMCA is good value without much compromise.

Great equipment, clean atmosphere and a huge change area. Exactly what I am looking for in a gym. Unfortunately, I’m not the only one who thinks so. parking is very hard to find. The lot is small and even when I work out after 9pm. the gym is still packed. Or…I should get off my lazy butt and just park further as I can use the walk. Great gym and happy staff :)

Not perfect — and it can really, REALLY get busy at peak times(especially Saturday mornings), but they do a pretty good job of running this place, despite how busy it is and can get. They just got some new equipment in — the kind that people kind of walk past and glance at, wondering how the hell they’re used. I like to make a fool out of myself, so I’ve been on them and they ROCK!

This is officially the big gym that could… There are countless amounts of cardio machines. Doubles of all weight machines. And more free weights than you could even count. Did I mention the crazy number of fitness instruction classes(from bootcamp and yoga to spinning and dance). Everything you could possibly ask for in a gym is here. They have a daycare for little kids. A huge gymnasium with a posted table so you can see when you can drop in for volleyball. I could honestly just keep going on about this gym, the staff, and all the services… It’s simply the best in the area!
