Love the design and layout of this library. I’ve studied here a couple of times and found it a great experience. My mom also comes here to read! Lots of meeting rooms and study space.

I have extensively used this library and I simply love it for multiple reasons — it’s easily accessible, hence«City Centre», the facility is state-of-the-art, materials collection is diverse, and the staff is supportive. The brand new building boasts of a beautiful architecture by Bing Thom Architects, and I witnessed the neighborhood developing within last year. The four-story structure provides abundant light and varied environments to study in different moods, e.g. open computer-desks on the 2nd floor, quite room on the 3rd floor, lounge style chairs on the 3rd, and conference centers on the 1st and 4th. Private study rooms are available for reservation on a first-come first-served basis. I especially appreciate generous use of glass on the walls and the ceiling, which provides a lot of natural light all year around. The variety of books, magazines, CDs, and DVDs is very diverse across genres, languages, and nationalities. The staff is extremely courteous & collaborative and always willing to help. Free Wi-Fi throughout the facility and free 3-hour parking across the street on University Drive is available to patrons. You must be wondering if I like so many things about this library then why only 4-stars? I’m deducting a star because this otherwise 5-star facility is slowly becoming hotel for homeless and drug-addicts. You will find drug-addicts and homeless people waiting outside the library before it opens and they keep roaming around until it closes. It’s common to see them sleeping in corners, abusing the rest rooms, and screaming & yelling across different floors. Although I do see security guys trying to keep a check on them, but the situation is obviously not in control. Should the administration not let it become hotel-for-homeless, it clearly deserve all stars. A must visit.

When I’m itching for a different kind of study environment I like to trek over to the Surrey City Center Library. I like its wide study spaces and unique architecture. Its a little vibrant inside, you can hear chatter pretty much everywhere from every floor but they have quiet study rooms if you need that extra privacy and silence. I don’t mind the occasional hushed conversation. I really like its location its a 5 minute walk across from Surrey Central sky train.
