First place I’ve found with decent Japanese food since moving from Richmond to Delta. The food was delivered before the estimated time which was a total bonus! I’ll be ordering from here again! Good food with good service.

The sushi was so good here, fresh and beautifully made. The peach roll was so pretty, all the sliced avocado on top(with yam tempura inside) anything with the spicy mayo on it will be good, I tried the Philadelphia roll and the spicy scallop roll both yummy. Miso soup was average. Service wasn’t good even though we were the only ones there, we were ignored for a while for phone orders. The food more than made up for it! If this was in my area I would be a regular.

Our favorite sushi joint close to home. Love the bento boxes and the sushi is always fresh and the miso is always hot and yummy. Only complaint — i love a variety of veggies when I order tempura but there is always too much yam/sweet potato. Nice people– service hit or miss. But for Delta/Surrey a nice little place with lots of daily specials.

Boy, have things gone downhill. First, let me preface that as a former resident of Newton, I used to eat at their other location religiously in my youth; since moving closer to the Skytrain line I haven’t been able to visit the restaurant as much but would still order delivery from time to time. Noticeably worsening in quality over the years(from the tempura to the chicken teriyaki) I continued to choose them over the many sushi restaurants in the vicinity but tonight was the last straw. After their Newton location closed for renovation for a seemingly indefinite period of time(unconfirmed since I haven’t been in the area to verify) I’ve been ordering from this location in its stead. Tonight’s phone call went from bad to horrible, after being put on hold for several minutes I was told my location was going to take them an hour for delivery and a minimum $ 40(their website states minimum $ 30 for delivery plus delivery charge based on distance). My order was below their new, unadvertised threshold so I added more food to compensate, but when they quoted me $ 52 for an order that was $ 42.75 prior to taxes and delivery charge, I said that it was going to be too much for just two people to eat and that I was sorry for wasting their time. The lady on the phone asked if I was Chinese, accusing me of being cheap, when i had plainly stated that I was sorry for wasting their time, and that it was just simply too much after all the extra charges and the increased minimum spend(despite her quoting the website wrongly, this was the first time I’ve ever been told of a new minimum charge for my address, despite ordering several times from this location). And now I’m being asked if I’m Chinese and told that I’m being cheap? Never again. I know the ownership changed a long time ago(my sister is friends with the former owner’s daughter). It’s just not the same, and i guess I’ll just have to drive for my sushi fix now.

Came here on Friday for an early dinner and the place wasn’t busy. We have come to this restaurant probably over 10 times now and really enjoy the food. They have daily specials on their rolls but my favourite roll is the crunchy roll — spicy tuna with tempura batter bits… YUM! Just to let you know, the sushi chef isn’t Japanese. I think I overheard him speaking Chinese to the other staff. But, in this day and age, it’s all about quality of food and I think this restaurant has it. We’ve had other special rolls, bento boxes, miso soup, agedashi tofu, edamame etc and have not been disappointed. Price is reasonable and lots of parking. BTW, some of these pictures look like they are from the other restaurant. Odd…

I thought I’d write a bit more recent review. The pictures posted must be from before a renovation. I recently went there and it’s definitely more modern than that there now. I got take out — the sushi was good, the rolls were very big, almost too big actually. I got my usual spicy salmon roll and an avocado roll… I should be really happy but for some reason I thought the rolls were a little too big and the price was a bit higher than what I’m used to — but I guess that’s for the big rolls… which i prefer a bit smaller… still reading? haha!

A great little sushi place — and I do mean little! There is limited seating inside, and sometimes there hasn’t been anyplace to sit down. But the people packing into the place tells me it is a good sushi place. They are creative with their sushi rolls, and there is always specials and discounts on their rolls. They also like to create new rolls, such as the Newton roll — which is very tasty. Ramen has also recently been added to the menu. The sashimi seem to be always fresh, and the rolls neatly made. They have great bento boxes and combo roll selection. This place is an all around good choice.

My friend lives in Delta and suggested to come here for some Japanese. I would never have thought there are any decent Japanese places in this part of town, but this small little Japanese place was quite delicious! I eat a lot of Japanese food, and this one is definitely comparable. The rolls were nice, fish was fresh, prices were reasonable, and service was great. I would go again if I’m in the area :)
