Valley View Funeral Home

First time I’ve ever been to a funeral home — and well, it was actually niver than I expected it to be. The staff there was very accommodating and understanding — knowing that they were dealing with a family who’s loved one had just passed away. Personally, I’ve always been a bit of a ‘fraidy cat — keeping that in mind — don’t judge me when I say I couldn’t even walk to the bathroom on my own. But it wasn’t that bad.
For Surrey, I would say this funeral home is a good choice. They offer burials or cremations — depending on your beliefs; and they actually care.

–we knew she was sick, but she was in remission for 20 years!
–what started as breast cancer took my cousin away from us
–when i was a kid, my older siblings used to torture me saying i was adopted because my nose was flatter than theirs and i was darker than everyone, and my real dad was «bidoy» some man who used to deliver fresh caught fish
–that traumatized me since «bidoy» got into the game and kept telling me he’s there not to deliver fish but to take me away
–so whenever i heard he’s coming, i’d piss in my pants
–i grew a little older and i heard myself being compared to «nene rosario»
i was like, who’s that? «she’s your first cousin, she’s dark like you and beautiful… she’s a nurse in canada»
–did i hear dark and beautiful in the same sentence? i guess that was my mom’s way of trying to make up and explain for my pee accidents?
–i eventually got to meet her and man, she had this gorgeous smile that just lit up every room she walked into
–she was very demure, and polite, fun and hip but not loud or anything like me
–i got to see her at family events like weddings and small reunions
–she liked to shop, and knew how to carry herself with style and grace even in good ass bargains from the outlets
–now that i’m a grown woman, i embrace my dark skin and am proud of it… no skin whitening sheiyt here, even when i was in the philippines
–so here i am being picked up at the border from washington and was taken str8 to the funeral home by my nieces
–it’s close to their home and it was so pretty, also a cemetery was next to it
–the inside was nice, clean and they accommodated the dinner after each rosary/​novena in a convertable conference room
–the restrooms were clean and decorated well
–they were on top of things and with excellent service
–respected my cousin’s wish to only have family view her and keep it closed casket for guests
–their microphone didn’t die on me when i got the look by my nephew to speak about cousin nene
–kinda creepy how by being nosey we found we were being watched in the mouring room thru a tv inside a small cabinet
–we miss and love you cousin
