I have a garlic allergy(yikes!) and it is difficult to find restaurants that can accommodate this problem as garlic is in everything today. The first time I went to Rafe, I had the Seafood Marina. The chef was able to make the walnut oil, basil pesto without the garlic. Great — it was delicious. The second time, a week ago, I ordered the same thing. Either the chef was too busy or he didn’t know how to make the sauce without garlic. Either way all I received was some noodles, 2 shrimps, a couple of very small mussels and a tasteless white wine sauce. I should not have been charged for the meal or else should have been offered something the chef could make without garlic. Sorry!

It opened very recently in mid April 2015. The food quality is exemplary. It easily beats most of the high cuisine restaurants in Toronto. Highly recommended.
