Fantastic place in Thornbury. Never fails to impress. The quality of the ingredients are always fresh and they never cease to amaze in flavor and choices on their menu. Better than any restaurant in the village!

We went during offseason with no snow, so it was pretty quiet. We were originally going to another restaurant down the road, but it was closed. So we ended up here. The waiter was really friendly greeting and serving us. The food is awesome, and portion is really good. Ingredients seems local and high quality. We had the roasted beet soup, vension loin, and smoked back ribs. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Was in Collingwood and happened upon this restaurant in one of the tourist brochures. It was about 2 pm so it was too early for dinner but we asked if they would serve their advertised Applewood Smoked Back Ribs. I’m glad they did because the ribs were delicious. Also, I recommend their smoked pork belly for an appetizer.

I’ll be coming back here every time I visit Blue Mountains. Waaay better then any restaurant in the Village and worth the 15 min drive to Thornbury. The service was top notch and the chef … Produces awesome looking and tasting food. We ordered several different dishes on their current menu(it changes every season and the ingredients are locally sourced) and every single dish was a hit!

I’m glad we stopped by today. Best meal we’ve had while staying at Collingwood. I had a wonderful lunch — the salad special with spaghetti squash, grilled pumpkin seeds, mixed greens, aged cheddar in a maple mustard vinaigrette with grilled chicken. And the white chocolate raspberry compote for dessert with a glass of Georgian Hills Seyval Blanc. Highly recommended.

We spent a weekend at a Blue mountain, but would like to visit areas nearby and found this hidden gem in Thornbury, a 10 min. drive only from bluemoutain village. The drive along the bay was entertaining, you’d also able to stop by the craigleigh provincial park on your way or return back from a fulfilling dinner at Bistro. It was an early evening we didn’t have reservation. The vibe was really friendly and welcoming. Art and interior design both are unique and comfortable for diners. The price is moderate and very well for the quality of service we’ve got. The server was able to provide suggestion and answers to our all questions about the menu. Background music is great. Food was fresh and the combination is wonderful. We are from Toronto and have tried many bistros in GTA. This one is definitely a hidden gem in this town. The server at local also advertises the greatest one in their town and nearby areas by handing out us more information on the apple trail associated stores. We had a fabulous dinner experience at this bistro and absolutely we’ll go back. For your reference: Entrees Pork Belly — absolute a must try ! Trout — fresh and full of soften texture — perfect for fish lover /lazy chewers :) Appetizer Scallops in the creamy sauce(white wine) are definitely a delightful starter We missed the desserts — and alot of other items awaiting to try next time in the future

Simplicity Bistro is so warm and cozy. My boyfriend and I were greeted by a friendly hostess, but the moment she asked whether we made a reservation, I thought… oh no, please don’t tell us we have to find dinner elsewhere!(It was a Saturday night, but it was such a last-minute decision for us and we did not expect the restaurant to be that busy.) She checked the availability and luckily, there was a table available for the two of us. The bistro is dimly lit with candles everywhere. We were taken towards the back, near the bar, where there is a cozy nook with two tables for two. It was nice to be seated away from the main dining area, considering the restaurant became busier and the chatter became louder as the evening went on. Before our starters came, we were served homemade focaccia bread with apple butter(mmm…). Our Lamb Sausage Soup and Hot Crab Stuffed Mushrooms arrived soon after. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed the hearty soup. I do not eat lamb due to the gamey smell and taste(which I felt was strong in this dish) but I did try a spoonful without the lamb sausage, and the soup and its contents were very flavourful. We thought the stuffed mushrooms were decent. It was very cheesy and creamy, but there’s never enough crab meat! ;) For our entrées, we tried the Ginger Beer Pork Belly and the special of the day, which was the Prosciutto-Wrapped Beef Tenderloin. We expected pork belly slices, but instead, it was a thick slab and my boyfriend loved it. There was a good combination of meat that was very tender, and fat that went well with the crispy skin(although I felt it was a little too burnt). The beef tenderloin was a lot pricier, but it was another great dish — perfectly medium rare, as requested, and the meat was really tender. I have had bacon-wrapped beef tenderloins, but prosciutto-wrapped meat was new to us, and it was actually quite tasty. The friendly servers came by numerous times throughout the evening to make sure our meal was going well. Our water glasses were never empty, and our finished plates were always cleared promptly. If you are in the area and you are looking for a restaurant to enjoy a nice meal with your significant other, Simplicity Bistro is the place to be. I wish we had the chance that weekend to try their lunch menu, too. Maybe next time. :)

Really decent food in this welcoming and carefully decorated bistro. The ambiance is more formal than I expected but in a good way. Lunch opened till 4pm and it is such a steal. 15 bucks top for the lunch combo. Highly recommend their duck confit grilled cheese

We stopped for lunch in this little Bistro, and we will try it one more time. Only complaint was the attention from servers. There were only 15 people in the restaurant(capacity is over 50), and only one server who had to look after everyone. There was another server, who I assume was an owner, but she spent the whole time(30 mins or so) talking to one table, and did not make sure all were looked after. When I asked our server about some choices, she said she had not tried them, as she was a veggie. It is always nice when a server can speak to the food, as they tried it. I had the Lamb Burger, and it had really nice flavour. My wife had the«flaked brisket sandwich». I would have ordered it, but the description made it seem dry. Wrong, it was delicious. No one came by to see«if everything was ok». We will try it for dinner sometime, and really see where the talent is. Hopefully the other server«co-owner?» will pay more attention to eveyone. Elegant presentation; overflowing with fresh flowers. An absolutely outstanding restaurant with a small, carefully selected menu of fresh delightful items. The service was excellent. The décor is very natural looking and full of texture, with stone work, woven patio furniture, and large vases full of sunflowers and gladiolas. This is located right on the main drag through Thornbury. My party of 3 ordered lunch: a bison burger(malt vinegar was available to go with the sea-salted fries), penne with kalamata olives, feta, sun-dried tomatoes, broccoli, topped with microgreens, and a flatbread roasted vegetable sandwich with sweet potato fries substituted for regular and also with a nice sprinkle of sea salt. A garlic aioli accompanied the fries instead of ketchup. The roasted veggies were perfectly done and the sandwich also came with goat cheese mixed in. The presentation for everything was wonderful. There is a nice wine list plus a small selection of beer bottles, and once we ordered we were given a plate of warmed homemade focaccia made with caramelized apples and an apple butter. It was too good to resist — though we were full on the nicely sized portions we just had to try the dessert menu. A blueberry-goat cheese tart sounded too good to be true, and was served warm in a homemade tart crust with vanilla bean ice cream and vanilla whipped cream, dressed up in a swirl of raspberry sauce. Absolutely delicious. The carrot cake was moist and benefited from the caramel sauce drizzle, also served with vanilla whipped cream and both had a beautiful fresh(edible) nasturtium flower for a garnish. I would recommend this place to everyone interested in a beautifully presented flavourful adventure!

This a one of the best restaurants in the area. We were therein. Friday night, a very rainy Friday night. It was very busy, but the service was impeccable. The wine and cocktail list was good, not huge, but well selected. We started with crabcakes and grilled shrimp, and I had the halibut which was fabulous. A beautiful setting, not too fancy, yet classy. Looks like a patio is in the works. We will be back!
