I’ve lived in Grey/Bruce for well over a decade, and I’ve tried many a lovely stylist, but had never found«the one». Well now I have. I was recommended Skot by a friend, a hair stylist herself, and I am so happy I listened! The Parlour location is easy to find — on a corner. Plenty of street parking available(no cost!) The Parlour itself is a funky mix of crisp white, industrial lighting, wood & glass. Beautiful. Tasteful without the intimidation of some big city salons. The use of an iPad to read any magazine you wish sure keeps the wait area tidy. Just a relaxing, clean, welcoming space to spend time in. Skot is just amazing. He took the time to earnestly discuss what to do with my naturally curly hair before he even sat me at the sink. A plan of action in mind, I was treated to the Parlour’s line of Oribe shampoo & conditioner and THE best head massage. I think Skot was very intuitive to my time in the chair. What I mean by that is he wasn’t overly chatty when I wanted to just relax for a few minutes, but then we did talk it was fun, light and sincere. Some stylists can be a bit intimidating, or come off as a bit fake, but Skot is neither one. A real gentleman who rocks a beard like none-other. Best of all — was my cut. I loved it. It is difficult to cut curly hair. Correction — it is difficult to cut curly hair WELL. No triangle head. No obvious layers. Just a clean, refreshing cut that thinned out some of the bulky curl so the layers he put in had a nice fall and curl to them. I highly recommend Skot At the Parlour to anyone who’s looking for a stylist whom is knowledgeable about hair, knows what is current & trendy, and is a genuinely pleasant, fun person. And for my fellow — curly haired peeps — he knows what he’s doing!
