During Apple picking season in the fall this is a must go destination! I hadn’t been apple picking since I was a young child and some friends and I went out here(it’s far out Dundas street east, just outside of the city past veteran’s memorial parkway so a different RICHMONDST, I know that threw me too!!) I loved it, though it’s a lot of walking if you do the U-Pick so dress appropriately and best to not wear your best duds as you’re going to be reaching up, under and all around the groves and might get snagged or dirty. They also have an extensive pumpkin patch and apparently during berry season Strawberries as well. Everything from Granny Smith’s to Ida Red’s, these apples are delicious! The nice thing is there is a train & a horse buggy that you can snag a ride back to the start of the orchard once your done complete with traincrossing signs to show you where to catch them. You can also walk the whole thing as it’s a big square but trust me dragging those apples you’ll want the train! There is also a giant sand play hill for kids and a small selection of farm animals to see. My biggest regret besides not getting there more than once last season was not purchasing baked goods from the shop on the way in! Things go FAST!!! We saw these delicious scones(at least 24 boxes) and an array of pies in the store(which is open during off season as well on weekends so you can still get apples, pies, crafts etc) By the time we were done picking there was a numbered line for pies and all the scones were gone. We did go thanksgiving weekend though. so that could have something to do with it!
