It’s scary in there. They treat you like a criminal and cover it up with forced enthusiasm and«customer service.» The clothing is grossly overpriced and I think they should be ashamed for exploiting large girls this way(they know we have more need, so they make us pay more) I’m currently writing an exposé on the corporate malpractice that took place at the Bayshore location in Ottawa which included getting rid of at least three AMs who had been there for years and hiring new girls from different stores(girls too small to fit into the clothes) for high-level positions, not a single current employee was promoted.

Addition-Elle recently opened its new doors at the 2QE building(2 Queen Street East). This location is great– right at the Yonge and Queen junction(facing Eaton Centre), more swank and better decorated than their previous chapter down the block on Yonge, and large modern changing rooms that make trying on clothes a pleasure rather than a chore. My chief complaint is that while they’ve improved the décor and the customer experience, Addition-Elle clothes remain the same. Relatively LOW quality. The plus-size girl doesn’t have a lot of options so I still recommend checking them out for work appropriate attires or that must-have shape wear. But it doesn’t feel good to pay more than you get, especially when you know the store you shop at has cornered the market and is milking you. So yes, generally speaking, it is not worth the cost. They also have accessories, lingerie, and some wide-calf footwear. But I RECOMMEND– that if you are on the lower end of the size spectrum(14 or 16), you try to shop online by designer(best fit) or peruse your nearby departmental stores. Addition-Elle comes close to some of the prices I saw at the Bay for professional attire, except hat at least the Bay offers superior quality brands and therefore, a longer last wardrobe.
