I don’t know why people are complaining about service — everyone here is super friendly. Only thing is, their advice and compliments are not worth sh*t — they are just trying to meet quotas. Obviously, their pieces are overpriced. But hey, they’re ethically made. And Dov Charney is pretty gross — no arguments there. Oh and I am a L or XL here which makes me feel weird as a 130lbs woman. I don’t have weird body issues but like, how are they going to accommodate women that are even slightly above the BMI? I just love AA because I’m forever trying to find clothing that shows off my back piece and other weirdly placed tattoos — and they have no shortage of strangely cut clothing. Also, I’m still rocking the leg warmers, scrunchies, and nipple covers — and I don’t know where else to find the variety that AA carries!

I used to dread going into any American Apparel due to the absolute lack of customer service — the staff often acted like a bunch of anti-social teenagers. I wondered, what, are they being trained/paid to ignore customers and gossip amongst themselves? This store is refreshingly different; the staff are a lot more proactive in greeting and helping customers. Keep up the good work and set an example for the other stores! As for the clothing, it’s really hit or miss. I definitely find a piece every once and a while that I absolutely love. Most of the time though, I find the clothing very overpriced for what it is.

As far as American Apparels go, there are no surprises here. Simple pieces, candy-mountain colour selections. Sizes designed to make you feel awfully self-conscious. It’s a nice-sized location though – not too large or small. What I really like about this location is their scarves – they have chiffon-y watercolour-like design scarves that I haven’t really seen at other locations. They are not solid OR striped(gasp)! I’ve come here multiple times and I’ve been pleasantly surprised every time by how friendly the staff working here are. In my experience, AA staff are usually snooty and unhelpful, as if they don’t want to be working or talking to you. Not so here. Maybe being friendly is becoming cool again for hipsters.
