Betty Hemmings Leathergoods

Betty Hemmings is a great place if you are in need of very high level suitcases, briefcases and generally speaking professional/​travel oriented leather goods. Alexandra and Michael, the owners, travel to Europe quite often to buy directly from the factories the products that they have on sale and that insures the fact that the brand selection is probably one of the best that you can find in North America!

The Yorkdale location of Longchamp hasnt opened yet I believe so I called this boutique. I’m very familiar with the Yorkville area and typically costumer service lacks greatly. I had called just to inquire some prices of the Le Pliage totes and the representative on the phone was extremely polite and gave her honest opinion. When calling I always ask ‘How are you?’ because many people don’t really care about how the employees days are and sometimes that can make a huge difference in their mood that day. She actually asked how I was today after I did which scores mega brownie points! I base my decision to make purchases on costumer service alone, and after this phone call I’ll be making sure I visit this boutique despite me living in Mississauga now. I didn’t catch her name but if she ever sees this review, I just have to say Thank you so much for your help!

I live quite a ways outside Toronto. I first started going to Betty Hemmings [it was on Blloor Street then] in 1997. I travel a fair bit and I was fed up buying luggage [it seemed] every year. I noticed my boss used Tumi. Where did you buy that? Since then, if I need anything luggage/​briefcase/​backpack-​wise this is where I go. Nothing wears out; I just need changes. Tumi is a great brand and I have one Longchamp bag that the airlines have tried valiantly to destroy and it won’t give up. Mike & Alex and the staff are wonderful to deal with; no pressure and they make sure you get what you want or they will find it for you. The after sales service is great too. Some stitching came away on one bag and it was fixed right away and perfectly with no fuss. Good people, excellent store.

Second experience not bad

I love this place.
Need a wallet? Purse? Briefcase? Suitcase? Betty Hemmings to the rescue.
They’re one of the only places in Toronto that carry Longchamp goods. For Christmas, I decided to buy the mother a couple of Longchamp bags so I popped in here this afternoon (Saturday). I don’t want to harp on Longchamp, but… they have A LOT of different coloured bags and styles.
BH’s is not limited to this French brand, you can find items from other parts of Europe too.
Customer service is worth four stars. I was able to go in and out within 10 minutes.

When I think of Betty Hemmings, I think of tons of Longchamp bags!
This is the only store that I know of in Toronto that still carries the Longchamp bag, which makes me very happy!
I would be lost without the use of my red, medium size Longchamp, which can hold a ton of things a smaller purse could not.
They have this precious bag in 3 – 4 sizes and always carry the staple colours of black, chocolate brown, navy and red, along with seasonal colours, with the price tag of $ 200.
I also love the high-​end luggage and leather goods in this store. A lot of their stuff is imported from Italy and Germany, giving you a chance to gain some European flare with your baggage!
