Nothing this place cooked was right. I stayed in the hotel a few days for business. The weather was horrible, so at the first two nights I ate at the hotel. The third night I went as far as I could. First evening the most funny thing happen to me — the server at the restaurant was very opinionated about what I ordered and strongly recommended that I’ll order something else. I was so very amused when she also had a say about my change order. Finally she approved of a fish dish. It supposed to be a delicious fluffy fish and I was actually looking forward to eat it. The description of the dish on the menu was promising. Unfortunately the very promising dish, although could be a success, was butchered by the cook. The fish was somewhat rubbery because it was way overcooked and the vegetables swam in a pool of powerful tasting sauce. The sauce controlled the whole dish with its overwhelming taste. The next evening I stayed away from fish and ordered the Ontario lamb burger which like the fish looked very promising on the menu with tomatoes jam and cheese. The burger was horribly dense and came as very well done. I realized the server did not ask me how to cook the hamburger only when I start eating… the knife could hardly cut into this dense burger. Very disappointing especially that they charge extremely high prices for that food. The service at both nights was very good, attentive and caring. And the setting is comfortable. If they could only hire a cook that can live up to their menu promise.

I arrived late to the hotel and decided to have a late dinner. My coworker offered me a voucher for complimentary appetizer. The restaurant was basically the place where everyone consumed their breakfast in the morning. The restaurant was dead at that moment I sat and quickly ordered: scallops with pork belly and lobster fettucine. The appetizer came out fast — the presentation was great very nice plating for a hotel restaurant. I cut into the scallop it was not overcooked but it smelled fishy especially after I just came back from Paris. Ooof! The pork belly sat on a barely viscous sauce it was pulling as I picked up the pork belly. Good attempt but not so great execution. Sorry the guy must be hating his life in the kitchen to fire an order at 10PM. The lobster fettucine — lobster was definitely frozen it was way overcooked by the time it was served. I could hardly swallow it. For $ 30 a plate wow! Anyway that’s the best I could get at an airport hotel. My server however was very friendly and sweet that was a pleasant experience.
