Drinking beers in winter? Yes our local brewers shown us this is the way to do it! But there are always a beer style that is good for all occasions/​seasons?
Brewer’s Backyard has been hosting beer events has been hosting 6 events in 2012 at Evergreen Brick Works. For 2013, it kick off with a Brew Year’s Day and with a couple more scheduled already for the rest of the year.
Local breweries: Amsterdam, Indie Ale House, Grand River, Great Lake and more gathered to share their beers with the public! Extra Strong, double IPA, Stout made me warm and happy.
Usually the events are held outdoors in the Koerner Gardens and Holcim Gallery but for the winter event it is held indoor at the Young Welcome Centre.
I was a little disappointed that only 1 food vendor E Grinds attended the Brew Year’s Day event. Hopefully there will be more vendors for the upcoming events.
Beers for 10oz for $ 7 was a little pricey, but it is definitely great to support the local brewers and have a taste of some drafts that I cannot find in LCBO or in bottles! Good thing though, they accepts Visa, MC and debit if you are out of cash!
