I’ve been learning how to play the harmonica with Bryn, of the Bryn Scott-​Grimes Harmonica School for nearly seven months. I am a thirty-​one year old who suffered a severe traumatic brain injury when I was younger and as a result, experience some physical restriction. I came to Bryn as a player relatively new to the harmonica. Playing the instrument has been so liberating for me and has inspired me to really take care of myself. The breathing habits, which Bryn has helped me develop and the musical expression, while learning the harmonica, have contributed to opening my eyes to potential and ability I didn’t know I had.

Bryn is an amazing teacher and person to learn from. Very knowledgable, attentive, and patient, I was really impressed with the value of the lesson I got from him. He really cares about his students and it’s great to see someone teaching an alternative musical instrument. If you can’t make in person lessons, he also offers them on Skype which was handy in a pinch when I couldn’t venture far from the house.
He was the only hit on kijiji when I typed in «harmonica lessons» which may seem like my options were limited, but I couldn’t be happier with the result.
