They don’t bake any of their own baked goods, not even the scones, they order them in from somewhere else.

I love coming here in the afternoons to enjoy a class of tea while getting some work done. They have such a variety to choose from. Very friendly staff:)

I had to bump these guys down to 3 stars because when visiting today, I realized there’s no wall outlets here! If Cake Town wants to appeal to the crowd that wants to study, work or just surf away on their laptops, I would expect them to have ATLEAST1 or 2 wall outlets. My laptop is an old clunker and can’t last more than 15 minutes without being plugged in. If you’re looking to catch up with a friend over tea and a scone, I’d still recommend this place. If you’re looking to get sh*t done, keep trucking down the street to Red Rocket Coffee or Starbucks.

Cute place with friendly service. I would give this place more stars but unfortunately, the coffee is where things fell flat. The foam was frothed poorly(nothing like the photo someone posted here), the espresso lacked flavour, the temperature was way too hot that it burned the milk. Cost for a large was $ 6.50 which is way higher than any indie coffee shop around. Hope these reviews will help them improve overtime, really great concept for the neighbourhood.

8 $ for one scone and a drink. This place is overpriced and they don’t make most of their own baked goods(pretty sure they only make the scones, which weren’t that good). The staff are friendly. The seating is nice and there is a lot of space, but no plugs anywhere. I’m also not willing to pay that much for subpar baked goods when I can get the real deal from Celena’s Bakery(right across the street) for less. Sorry. Lower your prices, change your recipes, start baking all of your own stuff and I’ll happily return because I’m a sucker for treats and coffee!

Had the banana bread loaf at the recommendation of a Unilocal tip below. Didn’t think it was good — dry and lacking in banana taste. Wifi apparently in and out at the shop. Décor looks quaint though, and the server was friendly. I’m in this area often and might try the coffee and update review afterwards.

This place is a real gem in the area! If you’re near Woodbine and Danforth, looking for quality coffee /espresso-based drinks, this is the place to go. Delicious latte in a relaxing atmosphere, clean, minimalist décor, with friendly staff.

This café is a near miss. In other words, I didn’t expect to find such a neat little café in this part of the east Danforth. My wife and I were looking at houses in the area in Oct 2014 in the Woodbine and Danny area, and found this place. I’d have to say that this place is great, good coffee, friendly staff, small but cute and clean. If you’re close by I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Perfect scones. Delicious Devonshire cream. Tasty lattes. I needed to find a place to hang out while my car was at the mechanic. This place was perfect. Lots of seating. Friendly owners. Cute décor. I really appreciate cafes that sell actual homemade baked goods. This place didn’t disappoint!

Very cute upscale looking coffee House. Friendly people working and comfortable atmosphere with low music. Great place to sit and reflect while sipping flavored coffee

I went there when they first opened and I found it to be nothing special and very few food items to choose from, maybe it’s gotten better but I will probably never go back

I took the advice of Unilocal reviews to come study here and im glad I did. It’s a cute quiet little place. Private owned. The coffee was great and the breakfast special was delicious. The menu consists of hot beverages, cold drinks and some savoury/sweet options like baked goods and bagels/croissants and paninis. I hate that its only street parking thats why it lost one star from my rating. Its a clean tidy place and they do have wifi. Definitely a hidden gem.

Been in a couple if times… went in to get scones one day but they were all out. So I treated myself to a latte. not the best decision. Personally I didn’t like the the chai latte… far too sweet no enough spice. Dropped in on Saturday morning with the express desire for their fresh baked scones. I had the pear/ginger and it was wonderful! Chunks of ginger and pears that infused a not so sweet pastry. Bought 6 others — but the gentleman serving me got half the order wrong. Was really looking forward to their apple cider scones, but we had to settle for peach cinnamon. Scones were wonderful regardless of flavor — I just wish a little more attention was made to service.

Been coming here for a while now. Gotta say i really like this place. Lots of quiet space to chat, nice friendly staff, and a great selection of loose tea’s. Always a good muffin, scone, cake or cookie to chose from. Too bad i quit drinking coffee since it looks like they have some tasty brews goin’ on. You can smell the roast from outside. If your in the neighborhood this is the place to hang your hat. Even if your not it’s only a few steps from the subway.

Great coffee! I personally dig the medium roast though I am usually a dark-roast fan. Cake Town caters to glutards and lactose intolerant folks by offering a variety of G-free bagels, sandwiches and baked treats. Soy milk and lactose free milk is available on the bar if you request it. Nadia, the owner is in at 5:30am making scones and her passion for baking is evident. Many of my neighbours are addicted to her scones and muffins. It’s a spot where you can camp out and get some work done(no power outlets – be warned) or catch up with friends over a cuppa.

Cake Town Café is definitely a gem in this neighbourhood. Stepping through their front door, I feel like I am in a different world! It has a complete different vibe compares to the neighbourhood. Get to have a time out alone, with your friend or just spend some time on your laptop. Love the sofa area in the front! With the huge windows letting the sunlight in… I tried their Cappuccino and Americano. Disappointing though the cappuccino was not well done as the milk was poorly frothed. Hopefully my next visit to Cake Town Café the coffee will be better and I would definitely try some of their baked goods!

Cake Town Café has THEBEST coffee. I highly recommend their medium roast. Bold is very good too and they have recently introduced a mild, which I have not tried yet. I also highly recommend the Nutella cookie. It’s a big one and it may seem pricey at $ 2.50 but you won’t regret it! I like the way they add little swirly pictures in their lattes. It’s super cute. In the warmer weather they do put out a couple of nice wrought iron tables and chairs. It’s unique when compared to the other indie coffee houses in the neighbourhood. I did order a grilled panini with almond butter and jam one Sunday morning but they forgot the jam. Oh well, I don’t expect perfection and it was good none the less. I go almost everyday for coffee and they have a «frequent offender» card for coffees so my 11th is always free. Oh, happy day!

Most random area that I was in but I had to find a place where a bunch of friends could sit and work for a bit. It was really that I needed coffee and something small to eat as I didn’t have breakfast yet. Of course, I turned to Unilocal for help and this place popped up as the closest. The interior is pretty cosy and a couple of tables for sitting and a nice comfy couch right near the entrance. My friends and I had coffee’s and I decided to try the scone that other reviews said were delish. I opted to add the cream and jam to my scone and that really hit the spot. I was really hungry so the scone and clotted cream combo was absolutely heaven. But on any other given day, would I have thought the scone and jam-from-a-jar to be really yummy? Who knows… We ended up sitting here for an hour and a bit and no one bothered us… we were chatting away. On the entrance, I saw a sign that says«support your local coffee store» and I really liked that. This was soo not a Starbucks, but rather, a local joint. I saw many patrons filling up their coffee cups then leaving, and also, mothers with kids and strollers stopping by to have a bite and chat. The atmosphere was so local and friendly… and for that, I am a total fan of the this place.

Its a cozy place with regulars. Great place for coffee dates or a place to hang and catch up with old friends for lunch. Definitely not a place to go if you want a quiet place to study because the place eco’s A LOT. Also, there are NO plugs to plug in your laptops or phones. I had the Pale Ginger Ale. I think i loved the fact that it’s from Muskoka and was impressed that it taste good cause the sweetness is just right for my taste. It’s very refreshing for a warm day. I also had the Pear/Ginger Scone which i normally don’t eat scones but i found it light which is good in my books. The scones had chunks of pears and candy ginger that was not too over powering. Service was pleasant and very helpful. Will probably take my friends here the next time we do a coffee hang out.

This is an attractive café with a well chose selection of pastries and light lunches. A few of their pastries are gluten free. My wife and I both had the«Double Cheddar Paninis», with tomato and chutney. They were quite tasty, but I wasn’t crazy about the whole wheat bread item they were served on. It might have been a ciabatta, but it was shaped like a hamburger bun. My wife gave the thumbs up to her Chai Latte, and my double shot(espresso) latte was pretty good, but not particularly well crafted. Too hot and too much foam. They get their beans custom roasted by Savoury Grounds(on Kingston Rd.). An attractive new addition to the neighbourhood, between Woodbine and East Lynn Park. Check out Better Bulk, almost next door.
