You want to have fun and great food with some of the nicest people in the west end then treat yourself. It feels like going to your neighbor’s house for lunch.

We got jerk chicken and jerk pork and both of them were GOOD! Highly recommend!
Both chicken and pork were spicy but good spicy, which you can tell they took time to marinate and grill well. Will definitely come back for different daily meals!

Best meal I’ve had in a very long time. This has been my 3rd time here and I love there food. I love the concept of having a new meal being served daily. The place is nice and cozy and as soon as you walk through the door you feel welcomed. Amazing food!!!

What an amazing hidden gem. I was in between clients so I was looking for a quick bite and came across this place after doing the nearby search on Unilocal.It is exactly as other reviews say — healthy, delicious homemade cooking with great portion and decent price. Had the chicken with black rice and salad, the chicken was meaty, big and juicy, rice was supple and fluffy, salad was sweet and fresh. Will definitely be coming back!

Nothing better than hopping off the bus on my way home and stopping in here, for lunch or dinner or a pick me up coffee. Beautiful home-​style filling fusion food made with great quality ingredients, lots of love, and the feeling that you are family whenever Charmaine or Zephy greet you. These cats love food and making sure you are well fed. There is also a cute little street side sun-​drenched patio for the summer time, and an ever-​evolving menu to keep things fresh. This has been a sweet and simple much needed addition to an otherwise blank stretch of davenport.

Finally, a place in the city that combines great tasting food, variety, health, value, and of course, home-​cooked goodness. Came here with a Groupon, and it’s a great find!
We had the jerk chicken dinner, while my wife had the dal dinner. Chicken was fall-​off-​the-​bone good, and my wife finished her whole meal, which is rare. Definitely a great find, and we’re grateful we’re not that far from here. Definitely better jerk chicken than several of the other Jamaican places I’ve been to in the city.
Not only that, they’re incredibly nice here. Very accommodating and hospitable.
Definitely coming back! Can’t wait to try their other foods!
Regrets: not having the room to try the ribs and black cake (151 proof!).

I reviewed Charmaines Place a few months ago but I see that it’s been bumped to the not recommended section… not sure why. I don’t review many places, only when I’m very happy or pretty disappointed. My husband and I got the jerk chicken. We thought it was delicious and the price was very reasonable. Welcome addition to the neighbourhood.

Charmaines place was a much needed addition to the neighborhood. Great food great prices, great location right on the bus line.
I’ve tried quite a few things so far and never been disappointed.
Try the meatballs with jumbo cheese ravioli or the ropa vieja, they’re definitely my favorites. Charmaines garlic mashed potatoes are also to die for!

Carleton Village’s little slice of heaven (in cake form).
We’ve picked up dinner from Charmaine and Zephie a few times now. Great home cooking, large portions and priced just right.
Charmaine never disappoints!
I was DYING for a place in the neighbourhood to serve me a hot patty and then poof, one day there she was.

Oh — and I hope the Jamaican brunch comes back sometime.

A wonderful neighbourhood place. Delicious food — half Jamaican, half Italian; friendly atmosphere. A slice of black cake will get you drunk.
