City Hall Public Library

This library bright with light from the windows and usually crowded due to smaller size but if you do find a spot its fairly quiet to study and there are alot of booth in which can just sit, study but i think most just use the branch to just hang out and relax
i dont think people go to branch for the collection as it pretty limited but its still a decent branch for use of it space and possible to study
thou it might be trickly to find it as it inside and to the right once you find entrance from the square

It’s the only library located in the middle of the downtown core and it’s just steps away from my work. A mix crowd comes here: students, councillors, office workers, retirees, et al, which is proof that libraries are vital to our city.
It’s a small library but it’s spacious in size. This is thanks to the tall ceiling. There’s a few tables in the middle and plenty of computers to use along the wall, but it’s the seats by the windows that are most coveted. They face Nathan Phillips Square and they’re perfect to sit, read, people watch or even take a nap — not saying that I’ve ever done it but I’ve seen others do it!
In the beginning of fall, they introduced an automated check out system that allows you to check your books out quickly. I’m not sure if this means they’ll cut staff but it has made the check out process a lot easier.

I just love the big huge windows overlooking Nathan Philips Square in the City Hall Public Library… Especially on a nice winter afternoon with the skater in action and the sun smiling on me…
The collections though a little small… but most people doesn’t really mind… since they are all chilling out… The crowd here is mixed: Students, Older Retirees. and some strange characters. I bet the security at the front has screened out a lot of stranger patrons. since they probably don’t want them to be in the City Hall area. I am lucky that I was let in!
Free Wifi but not too many people using their laptops but the 15 minute Express internet computer terminals were in high demand!

Dang! I finally found more outlets in this library, with tables to go with them. City Hall, you are raised in my esteem.
