Classic Tan

After returning from a recent vacation my Wife and I both longed to retain the golden hue that we had worked so tirelessly to attain. And although this winter has been mild in comparison to those of recent past, it still doesn’t offer up the Vitamin D that our bodies had come to crave. Enter Classic Tan.
On a dreary January Sunday we slugged our way down to CT and were treated to fantastic service, the ladies at the front were well versed in the world of lotions/​bronzers and package details. After getting our packages, lotion and eye-​wear of course we were ready to start our tanning odyssey.
I was fortunate enough to experience the Sunsport Platinum bed, which is unlike anything I have ever experienced. My wife and I hereby refer to it as the «mattress bed,» and that’s essentially what it is. You relax on one of the most comfortable mattresses you will ever lay on while tanning, or in life. This is 22 minutes of bliss. There is no sweat soaked surface like you experience in traditional beds, no sweat slicked back that you feel gross having to towel off after you tan, this is a new experience entirely, an experience that all sun, or pseudo-​sun worshipers need in their lives.
Ohhhh and they have Sirus Satellite radio’s in every room. So you can listen freely to Howard Stern, ESPN, or Shade 45 all while getting your tan on.

Great, very clean salon. I was a little nervous because of the area but after climbing the stairs and opening the door I was pleasantly surprised. The décor was really nice with a beautiful fish tank, nice furniture and seemed very clean.
The staff was friendly and informed. I tried the high pressure bed which I really impressed with. The regular price was $ 40 per session but because I was a new customer she offered me the bed for $ 20 each session for a month. It’s definitely worth $ 20.
Overall I will definitely be returning to this salon. I’ve been tanning for around 20 years so I’ve seen my share of good and a lot of bad salons.
If you’re in the area, climb the stairs and have a tan.

Love this place. The owner and the girls who work here are all very friendly and welcoming. They are never pushy and always have a great attitude. The beds are the latest models and the place is very clean, the packages are a little pricey, but they do have good deals once in awhile.

I had a very horrific experience at this salon.
I was visiting Oakville just for a few weeks and wanted to keep up my tan. I went here and asked the girl about what my options were in terms of what sessions and packages they offered.
She REFUSED to tell me or show me any prices. She just kept insisting their equipment was the best and insisting that I try it before I purchase any sessions. I once again asked her to show me pricing! she ABSOLUTLY REFUSED, said she would only show me pricing after I had a SAMPLE session. She said all new clients get to try the bed out first. (Which is usually accurate, most salons give you a free introductory session.)
I figured «Okay she wants me to try the machine to show me how spectacular it really is, then I’m likely to spend more money».
Okay, so I go in the bed. And she’s right, its a pretty good bed. Nothing spectacular, but a very good quality bed.
I come out and she wants to review the packages and prices… well she says the tans all cost $ 40 each, OR a package of 3 for $ 90. Which is OUTRAGOUS. Even in the best quality beds I’ve never seen a session for more than $ 18 in top quality beds. At this point I told her that those prices are WAY more than I wanted to spend (Honestly, I would spend $ 90 on a package if it was for more than 3 freaking sessions!!) I felt their prices were extremely high. SO I inform her I wont be purchasing a package.
She then tells me that if I don’t buy a package she will charge me $ 40 for the tan I just received.
EXCUSE ME… you wouldn’t give me pricing when I asked you like 10 times, and insisted I try your bed before I purchase anything and NOW you want me to pay for what was implied was a FREE introductory session!!!
I told her no, and she mislead me and she said «Okay well I can give it to you for $ 20!!!»
This is EXTREMELY DISHONEST BUSINESS PRACTISE. I thought most business were pretty honest these days… wow was I wrong.
I contacted the Better Business Bureau about these awful and misleading business practices!!!
Disgusted. You cant offer people samples, then when they don’t want a package decide to charge them!
She even said «If you had just bought a package, I wouldn’t have had to charge you for today!!!»
AWFUL!!!

My husband and I have been going to classic tan for a year now and think it’s the best tanning salon you can find. It’s clean, high end equiptment, friendly and helpful staff. We had gone to another salon down the street before called Beach glow tanning, but we wouldnt get a tan from their bulbs.
We are very happy with the service they provide at Classic tan and will not go anyplace else.

Great customer service.
I am a very hard customer to upsell, but she ended up seling me a three-​tan package. Good on you, girl! It also came with two free, full-​sized products: a spray-​on prep to use before tanning, and a cream for afterwards. THIS CREAM IS THE SH*T! It made the tan last for almost 10 days. Amazing.
They were undergoing renovations at the time I was there, so there was some mess/​dust in some areas. That being said, the areas not being worked on were clean and tidy.
It was the same sole female staff member working both times I was there. She was pleasant and well informed, and helped me get a beautiful tan before my Vegas trip (and then when I got back too)!
Looking forward to using the third tan of the package…
